HARDCORE In-Game Chat Reactions - Battlefield 4

- There is nothing hard about Hardcore mode in Battlefield. There is no 3D spotting so going from one place to another on the map is way easier. There is no mini-map to show your presence when you fire an unsuppressed weapon or have a UAV overhead. Things that don't normally one shot kill a player now do.

I've responded before to comments and questions about playing in Hardcore. It is usually something along the lines of "I don't like picking on the terrible players that hide in Hardcore mode". I'm not referring to players that hide in corners or prone somewhere on the map I'm referring to players that wouldn't be able to manage or survive in Normal mode servers so they hide in Hardcore servers.
These are some of the moments while playing when I happen to record what triggered someone to make hackusations, rage or say something funny in chat.

That intro was perfect. I'll never understand why people think Hardcore is harder or takes more skill. I'd love to see how fast you could empty HC servers with Mus1ck, Kia, and the rest of the guys.
Hardcore takes less skill, if anything. It's so quick to kill that it's basically the first person to shoot wins. Time to kill is very similar to COD, I'll never understand how people think hardcore is realistic.

adeafkid In real life, you actually have to aim more than moving a thumbstick or a mouse, and you can turn around quickly, plus you won't die instantly from 2 shots to the foot.
221Prohunter 2 shots to the foot would take you out of combat anyway. probably would need to amputate it..
adeafkid I mean the fact that you die immediately and can't fire back. Hardcore isn't really meant to be milsim, only a bit more realistic and although it kinda does the job, it's got a fair share of problems.

3X scope is the only way to use the .44 Magnum as a DMR..LOL
I downloaded two old Battlefield games on Origin just to have that. It's a little tricky but so much fun. And it looks like Han Solo's gun.

In a sense, yes. In hardcore you don't have to worry about being 3D spotted all the time, plus everyone dies in 1-2 hits so you also don't need to be very accurate and aim for the headshots either.
Really the only "difficult" thing I found while playing hardcore was the lack of 3rd person camera in vehicles.
Hardcore is so much easier, especially if you've got a squad. Pretty much only play core if i want to use a heli or jet all game now.

It’s why ravic is so good. He uses all the features in the game to his advantage.
Kit switching, shooting the pipes on locker (to wipe out entire hallways), using TOW’s (which if done right is brokenly powerful).
Top that on top of his awesome aim, and you have yourself a killing machine.
You never thought of this before? I did this back in BF1942 to steal Medic kits and heal myself. :p
Difference is that Ravic doesn't die often so he literally has to make ends meet regarding ammo... considering the amount of amoebas playing this game, and seeing how you can see him, in several videos, asking for ammo and 3 supports right next to him don't drop ammo boxes.

Always played the game like this, that’s the difference in playing as a team or squad vs going Rambo 😆 good team members pick up enemies kits or squads kits to help each other out and keep each other alive etc, I absolutely hate team mates who don’t drop, the amount of times I chase these fuckers asking for help and have to resolve by whatever means haha even a bloody knife kill due to zero ammo.
Swear though, Battlefield V is going to cull a lot of that I hope, or there’s going to be an hell of a lot of blood spilt.

Benjamin Smyers but if you look closely you can see that he picks up the support class of the guy that he just killed for a split second, and he used that to drop the ammo crate.
Anyones gameplay looks like an aim bot at quarter speed. This is common knowledge everywhere.

Little do the 3yr olds know in hardcore your max health is 60 and the magnum does 62-58 max damage depending in range you get the rest

Other than the SPAS-12 with Slugs no not really. I'm sure there are better weapons to use in Hardcore but I didn't make any effort to find out what those weapons might be since I don't plan on playing anymore Hardcore mode.

Welcome to hardcore where you can cheese easier then the normal game but we say it's harder cause we have less health.
HP Scaling =/= Difficult
Less health, no minimap, no 3d spotting, no 3rd person camera, no killcam... all of these things add up to make gameplay less "streamlined" rather than more difficult.

And yes, I do think games that only bump up damage numbers aren't doing a good job in actually increasing difficulty. Bethesda games are a fine example of that. If you know how to cheese the enemy's behavior, their increased damage doesn't mean absolutely anything.
Games that actually change up enemies' behavior and bring additional gameplay mechanics to higher difficulties are doing a better job in that respect.

I think regular mode actually has a bigger skill gap. Only takes a couple lucky shots to kill someone on hardcore. On regular mode you have to keep on target longer.

As far as I'm concerned.. there's nothing hard about hardcore. I mean, weapons are balanced around having 100% health...so you can take advantage of OP bullshit weapons.
Reduced UI is also not a big deal. If you have a second monitor you can put up your own map.
The only way to make hardcore proper hardcore is leave it as it is but either balance weapons separately around having 60% health OR buff the health you have up to 100%.
Marbleduck makes a really good video on it. Best players in the world don't exclusively play hardcore = fact
In my experience hardcore makes more guns usable and op guns just regular guns. I only play hardcore because I like the feeling better than core.
+HornyUnicorn more guns are easier to use yes agreed but that doesn't mean it's balanced. I think guns in normal are well balanced. Every weapon has its strength. AEK great at closer quarters but the AR160 does more DPS at 30 yards. I just think hardcore would be a lot better if we had 100% health.
My experiences in hardcore is everyone sniping, DMRing, shotguns and things like UCAV, mortars, airbursts and M320.
That doesn't make these players better than me, they're just taking advantage of weapons that won't one shot you in normal. The skill of using snipers etc is to get those headshots. There is absolutely no incentive to go for headshots with any gun in hardcore.
Seriously, Marbleduck has a video on it and it's great and true.

I'm just anti people who say only good players play HC...load of crap. If you are good at normal, you'll be just as good if not better at hardcore imo.

I do understand why the pro players play core because it does take more skill. In core you have to hit the player more with consistent accuracy. In hardcore you can get lucky more often or get a few accurate shot and win the gunfight.

From what I've seen on Battlefield and CoD Hardcore players seem to think that they're better than regular players for some reason when Hardcore just makes it way easier

I think hardcore is easier than normal becouse you kill faster, Enemies can't see you on the minimap becouse it doesn't exist.
I always think it's funny when ppl think HC takes more skill and is actually harder. 1 shot sniper rifles to the body, 2 shots to kill, campers haven cuz no mini map or spotting...the list goes on and on. HC is easy mode for snipers who can't aim. Core is WAY harder than HC. You actually have to aim and keep your shots on target. I play both and no mini map and a faster ttk does not equal harder by any stretch of the imagination. My KD is way higher in HC than it is in core.

Battlefield V is going to fuck that shit for them anyway with their stages of HP regeneration without meds, it’s going to hit these scrub core players hard when they realise their only chance of survival is to start playing as a team.

Hardcore mode is where medicated retirees live. Doesn't matter what game. In CoD1 13 years ago they lived on "tactical" servers.
I remember those servers on CoD4 and WaW. You can't run or walk, but you have to crouch walk because it's more "realistic". Trying to play on those servers was bs because that isn't how the gameplay and rules were designed around that only type of movement.

I was wondering for some time, what is that white-ish smoke effect when hitting someone? Does that simulate body armor or something?
You could probably blame that on Hollywood movies. It's a visual effect to show that you hit the player with a bullet or whatever weapon you are using. Even the older generation of Battlefield games had it where it looked like actual dust was flying off the character when you shot them. Which is probably where the term "dusting" came from when referring to shooting a player and you see that effect but no hitmarker or bullet registering a hit.

It would be really cool of they added a rifled barrel option for shotguns to make slugs even more accurate, or shotguns spread more for cqb
