James Burton the best lead guitar player in 60s-70s-80s. Country and rock. There no one who could touch him. He played in thousands of sessions with many great country and rock singers. mos60
If you were to ask James Burton "How many albums have you played on?" , ask a Los Angeles police officer that's been there for 10 yrs. this inquisition, "How many people have you arrested?"
Early JLL recordings did not feature guitar solos. What a difference JB makes to this great entertainer. I have been listening to them both for over 50 years! Big Brian
I recall when James Burton was inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall Of fame as a sideman (along with Johnny Johnson) I was very happy to see that because they both well deserved the honor.
All Chuck Berry did was introduce the electric guitar to rock & roll. Is there *anyone* who's *anybody* who doesn't pay tribute to Chuck by covering his classics?
two reasons.....money and health... Its cheaper for JLL to pay one guitar player, kenny lovelace, than two. And James is probably not for touring on a constant basis anymore.
Jerry Lee thinks "time" is a magazine! It's a shame this nice band has to keep chasing after him. Never can establish the pocket. James Burton was, is and always will be a very BADD dude!
We dont know how much money JLL has, but from what I understand, JB is not in the best of health. And his band probably doesnt need 2 guitar players for most shows..

Chuck Berry wrote that song in 1956. Chuck Berry wrote all of his own songs.
I knew a piano player who also played with a straight stand . I couldn’t figure it . ‘just goes to show , you never can tell ‘ lol

James had HAIR !!!!!! (grin).
Is that Jimmy Carter on rhythm guitar?
@matuschkas
Thats Kenny Lovelace not Loveless
They are all great! It's a shame they are not all "playing together"? The beat is over the place, musicians call it: "not locked in"!
