    Great video Eric, love how 2 x simple feels like the elbow and thumbs can be used to get a great visual of how the golf backswing should be. Simple golf movements are awesome. More videos like this please!

    I never saw this talked about anywhere before but the thumbs tip is actually what I use when actually playing golf to simplify my swing thoughts.... I just focus on getting my thumbs in the right position at the top of the backswing. I have a tendency to swing flatter so I focus on pointing them straight up, which in reality is usually closer to 45 degrees. It's such a simple swing thought, I'm surprised more people haven't touched on this... Great video Eric!

    Eric , Great instructional video. Two easy concepts to train and improve the backswing and swing plane. Keep them coming and thanks for helping my game.

    Eric, great video! Thank you so much for simplifying the use of the left arm in the backswing and for simplifying where the hands should be at the top of the backswing. Your teaching methods are excellent!

    Eric, I "lost" my swing about 2 months ago and have been struggling to get it back. This video has really helped me start to get the feel back! Now working on making that feel a habit which is proving to be tough. Any advice for those that struggle with this?

      1. consistency of practice
      2. giving yourself a lot of feedback (video or station)
      3. Letting a coach like me guide you (check out cogornogolf.com)

    Eric, what if you wanted to have the wrists bowed a la Johnson ,; would that be too much to think about, hoping that it provide more explosion of the wrists and more distance?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could do that John....
      Should you?
      Depends on grip, body rotation capabilities, etc....
      More bowed def better than more cupped!

      If you’re able to open your body like he does to square the club face then sure :)

    I am getting a little confused about the wrist. If the elbow down makes the club vertical how do I guard against the dreaded cupped wrist or how do it keep it flat or bowed

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kathryn.
      The elbow being down or more "out" primarily controls SHOULDER rotation
      You also have FOREARM rotation which can change the shaft angle
      Then you have wrist angles (flexion/extension) you mention.
      How you guard against a cup is make sure you bow....yes. Then record your swing and see what you actually do and adjust feels accordingly.

    Great stuff man. Always enjoyed your videos. Just one suggestion though. If you could make your videos a bit shorter it will be a lot better. Videos such as this one can easily be condensed into just 2-3 mins. But overall great work!!

      I strongly disagree. The brain (especially the untrained brain) needs to hear stuff in depth and over and over. A good explanation takes some time.
