When shooting in Fullhd the crop factor is 2.0 on the GH4. With speedbooster you take 2*0,71 = 1,42 crop factor. So the sigma 18-35 is equivalent 25-50mm and you get 1 stop of light as well. so F1.8 becomes F1.2

Thank you very much. I don't own the GH4 or GH5 anymore but I can say that sigma 18-35 is my favourite lens. Its 810g + some weight from the speed booster. But its really worth it. You don't need a stabiliser. Of course it depend on what type of shots and how much your are going to move. But if you have GH5 or GH6 they are excellent IBIS.

Optical Image Stabilization lenses wouldn't stabilize like this. They are meant to get rid of mico jitters caused by tapping the lens or minor hand movements. You can't attach an IS lens to a camera and get gimbal like smoothness. Plus the Simga 18-35mm lens he is using in this footage does not have image stabilization
I did you some stabilization in FCPX.Was my first attempt with the gh4. Next time i will try to use a glidecam or if handheld probably shoot most in 4K so i can crop when stabilizing the footage. Unless i need the slow motion :) I used OSIRIS luts and some curves.
Thanks alot! I shot handheld then stabilized some shots in fcpx. Its not the best stabilziation but i though it looked a bit better than without. Upcoming videos will probably be more stable :) I havnt tried the GH5 yet but it looks like a really great camera. I will get one as soon as its out in stores.

Yeah IBIS seems really nice. Im also most into handheld. With glidecam you can get really stable footage, but it requires that you bring the glidecam everytime as well. if you shoot 4K you can crop alot in post if you export in 1080p. Which makes it nice for stabilization in post.
Tried to hold the camera steady and then did some stabilization in post which im not that happy about. With the GH5 you can get stabilization on the 18-35 as well.

Depends on what you are going to shoot. You can put it on a tripod or hold it steady with your hands. But a lens with image stabilization might be a better for handheld shooting.

You can use the focus ring but its not recommended while the glidecam is in use. If you touch it it goes of balance :) But before shots you can tune it
Big budget hollywood cinematographers with $50k and higher cameras/rigs don't use autofocus when using cams, they preset a wide angle lens, stop it down for increased depth of field, then follow the action by carefully maintaining as much as possible the same distance from lens to subject.

Go to Ebay and you'll find decades old superb prime lenses for under $150, for example Nikon Nikkor AI/AIS 50mm f/1.4, which will beat the pants off of most modern all-gizmo zooms when combined with the Meta booster since the booster not only adds one and one thirds stop of light, but also increase the sharpness and resolution of a prime lens, just the opposite of what a teleconverter does. The Nikon meta s.b. is about $200 cheaper than the Canon version because of lack of contacts for autofocus, etc., but who seriously shoots video with autofocus anyway? The gh4's focus peaking will still work with those old primes for pinpoint manual focus!

Think I would say 1. 42.5 then 2. Sigma 18-35 and 3. Lumix 12-35. The 12-35 is only 2.8 and sometimes you really need more light.

Yeah. Its a bit shaky handheld. You can use a gimbal,tripod or a camera with inhouse stabilization like the GH5 or Sony a6500
