That is a beautiful piece. I have the AU-517 Sansui integrated. Rated at 65 Watts x 2 but it has 40,000 MF of capacitance. Very nice!

Nice amp, great looking!! Like the technics onkyo sony luxman.
Those big power meters look great!! Very Nice!! What's really special (regarding specs), it can work from DC (0Hz) to 600 KHz !!!! That means you could use it as a AM transmitter (none of the audio guys want to do that) but the specs (excluded power and damping factor) are stunning!! 200 volt slew rate. I think/guess the sound is very precise specifically for the high frequencies.
    Like video with open hood,
Btw the design of a powersupply for an poweramp can vary a lot, sometimes they choose a very big transformer and relatively small caps. Supposed for havind a high speed supply. Because the transformer can supply high amp for quickly recharge the caps. Other times they choose to go for big transformer and big caps and also power input stage separately on a higher voltage level. Just like in this amp. It will keep the voltage amplification stable during high current(power output) demands,
    It a very nice topic.
If you like may be we could make a video with a rotel RHB-10 michi amp. The build quality is on a very high level. Real dual mono build 2 transformers 8 caps total 2 big ones and 2 smaller per channel. The sound is also very very good. By some reviews its called a 'poor man' mark levinson amp....

Nice amp. I like those capacitors, masive reserve for sure. I have Technics SU-V900 that is twin mono with two transformers and has 4x12000mF caps and is rated at 140Watts int 4 ohms. I've found a measurement online that a guy had it @257Watts per channel!!! Some of those vintage amps could output way more power than rated from the factory. I am thinking to upgrade it to 4x15000mF that were used as a set of two in SU-VX920.

I would have it completely refurbished by a professional electronics repair especially somebody whos familiar with it! I think it might be worth it! With caps that are 35+ years old it needs to be gone over.

I love to see those beasts with hashimoto transformers. Why to spend a fortune for a new china made stuff when you can buy one of these. You need the preamp.
