I think what Emi means in the current version of the 737 that we have, the GP angle that the aircraft flies is computed based on the altitude restriction at the FAF and the runway threshold elevation (which is currently incorrectly the same as the airport elevation) + 50 feet. Which means it will always respect the altitude restriction. Whereas in the new version that's coming, the navigation database has the glidepath angle included in it, so that is what the aircraft will fly, computed based on the correct threshold elevation + 50 feet. @A330 Driver Has PMDG considered a checklist buddy like the FSS 727 has? It would be nice to be able to click a button to have the virtual copilot run checklists rather than try to taxi the airplane and turn off lights, etc.
I don't doubt that iFly's MAX is a great airplane but, dude, PMDG is PMDG and I don't value the product because it has a passenger cabin developed in 4K or 8K and you can walk into the bathroom and lift the toilet seat. I think that the level of depth in the simulation of the systems, PMDG is way ahead. Thank you so much for antother great video!
1 Manual braking heats the breaks and takes the tiers to a melting point in pmdg (Just one hard breaking, not sure if that's the case in the real world) 737-800 The ifly B737-8 max does not have this issue with the brakes temperature!
I did lots of hard brake applications in the PMDG, but never managed to overheat or break the tires. Are you sure you operate the airplane within its limits? Of course, if you touch down at 180kt and then do max manual that might be a different scenario... but in that case I'd blame the iFly for not melting the fuse plugs, not PMDG for doing so. ;-)
@@A330Driver I got you, thank you for replying I am no pilot Emanual, so I wouldn't know. There was a time where the airplane wouldn't move after landing even full power and it took me a while to understand that the brakes overheated and melt down the tires 😅... I read some forms and they said that PMDG brakes are hyper realistic and you should wait 50 min for the brakes to cool down.. We can not wait on the Taxiway! With the slightest pressure on the brakes the temperature displays goes straight to 6.0 and turn yellow ... But yes, autobrake 2 resolve the issue and keeps the temp around 1.0 When I got ifly, the did the braking test and the do not heat that much even with full manual braking (1.5). I will test high speed landing see! Thank you very much Emanual, this channel is the most valuable resource for people like me !

Thank you Emmanuel ! So interesting. Will the B736 be included in the update ? Does the vertical profile in the ND already exists in the B736 too ? Safe flights ! Jean-michel, France.
@A330 Driver The most important question right now is: Will PMDG update all planes for MSFS 2024 or just be lazy and sell it anyway as 2020 payware in the new marketplace
Being that they are a business and 90% of us hate poor quality sim aircraft, if it came down to paying again or them not producing versions that work with 2024 due it not being cost effective to do it for free, personally i would pay again, if it comes down to that. Its not a case of lazy rather is it viable from a business viewpoint. If the sim aircraft was rubbish... no i would not want to pay again
I thought PMDG kept telling us that we couldn't have weather radar and that it was either impossible, or couldn't be implemented properly. Have they just settled for something half-assed? Or were they lying?
i recall in your Rome video, when starting taxi, you increased throttles to very high (near 70%) for a split second and then decreased it back to around 40 for the remaining acceleration. Was this a deliberate real world procedure and what is the purpose?
Hi, that was deliberate and the purpose is to trigger the takeoff config warning, should the aircraft not be in an acceptable state for takeoff. Better to learn it right at the start of the taxi, than only if you want to set takeoff thrust on the runway, right?
Would be wonderful if you could clue us as to WHEN this 'update' will release- even better to give us the 'release number' so we could check it in our PMDG OPS application... please and thank you.
Very impressive updates for the FMC. I have not flown any difficult procedures in the 777. Does the 777 fly the same DME arcs etc as per the 737 refined capabilities ? Thx for the update will need get back to the 737 do some practice. Think i be watching your tutorial videos again. Approach looks amazing in 2020 carnt imagine hoe good the 2024 version will be.
Will there be an integration or some way to gather information from Active Sky, to improve the capabilities of the Weather Radar and do not only depend on Asobo's information?
I don't think Active Sky has that capability in MSFS. They can't directly inject the weather in MSFS like they could in P3D, which enabled that feature in first place.
Thank you for the nice insight! I would have two questions: - Will this update affect all PMDG 737 Variants for MSFS (-900 and -600 as well?), also if bought in the ingame market place? - You say the updated flight model is only noticeable with "higher-end" controls -- which one would you recommend for this? Thanks alot!
Very nice that you can now control the ground services from the efb. Do you know if pmdg plans to implement the option to calculate an intersection takeoff like in the fenix?
Looks like a great update. Anyone know if you can hide the efb like you can in the 777 or at least turn them off? It’s quite annoying having to have them on all the time in the 737.
I wonder if you can clear up some confusion? As we now have the ability to update the airac in the EFB, do we still need to update it in the Navigraph Hub? I notice that today they have an All Versions update in the Hub that wasn’t there recently.
Update through the EFB as far as possible. The Navigraph hub has received the 737's back because they pulled it too early. They pulled it when only the PMDG version was updated, but the marketplace version still went through the intake process and thus wasn't ready yet.
Hey Emmi: do you have to turn off IAN to fly the approach in LNAV/VNAV? After the update, I tried flying in LNAV/VNAV and when I went to set my missed approach altitude, the plane stopped descending, which was unexpected. I was after the final approach point when doing this.
Why didn't you fly the Standard Instrument Departure (SID) to check how the LNAV and Flight Director (FD) are tracking now? I'm still noticing the same issue before turns: the aircraft banks unnecessarily to the left and right before initiating the turn. As you know, the airplane shouldn't behave this way.
Hi, that wasn't necessary since there weren't any special leg types on this SID. A direct might just work as well and there are enough fixes along the route at the later stages of the flight so that we could check LNAV in action.
@@A330Driver From what I see, you had OLGAT2N as a SID with a nice turn at 500ft, speed restrictions, and tight turns to show how well this new update might work. So you just went on, "hdg select" instead to show how well this new update works. So, yes, that might actually be a perfect example of how it should work.
@@killsapm8883 Ah, I confused the two videos. Thought you posted underneath the video from Lisbon to Madeira. On this one indeed the demo would have shown a bit more, but we all know already the plane can follow a magenta line, so the drawing of that line was the focus here when I showed the SID and the flying part was focussed on the vertrical tracking of the non precision approach, where the PMDG is best in business now. Of course, I could have flown the SID as well, but that would just have dragged the video into unnecessary lenghs, especially since the approach to Madeira and the one into Heraklion were already planned for the next videos and serve as a far better demonstration of the LNAV capabilities.
Have they fixed the hard turning where let’s say if you fly a 737-900, when trying to line up the aircraft you would overshoot the plane a bit more and turn a hard almost 90 degrees of the nose wheel to get it to line up? I found it skids even when taxing at 3-4 knots doing it causing me to literally taxi onto the grass because it barely turns. I am on a Xbox controller, I just been suffering with that issue since it’s release and every other aircraft from different developers does not exhibit the same behavior. They all do it perfectly fine.
Hello! What should we do to see an update on the horrific wingflex animation sir ? I could pay to see that. It’s been a problem that almost all the community shared with you guys but it seems to be a very taboo subject..!
I was just wondering, is being able to set the landing gear selector to the "OFF" position part of the new update? As earlier it wasn't letting me or is there just something wrong with my keybinds?
The OFF position was modelled since the original release version. Make sure you don't have a piece of hardware constantly sending the command to raise the gear (think TM Boeing Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle and others that have a gear lever).
Great news. PMDG continues to improve the 737 as they always do with their products. It's becoming more realistic that it has never been. Great ! Wx radar finally ! 👍 I hope one day they'll rework on the EFB to make it more like the original Boeing EFB/OPT as before in P3D.
The UFT/iPad style is far more realistic than the Boeing style - nobody used the Boeing option or currently uses the Boeing option except in the 747-8 (optional), 777 (optional) and 787 (built in) - and even then, they use it in conjunction with a tablet.
I really hope they will not , i dont like the old Boeing EFB , besides it is barely used IRL , at least a haven't seen it during my career in aviation . I really dont understand why iFly decided to make boeing efb on Max :D its really weird . I think the best EFB/Tablet is in Fenix .

I just installed the update 3.0.105 but without having installed the OPS center update. Now my 737 does not work anymore. Could someone tell me how to fix this. Thank you very much.
What is the idea behind these weird approaches that do not line you up with the runway? I would understand it if there is some geographical restriction, a mountain or whatever, but it just goes straight over water.
While the approach itself goes over water, if you take a look on google maps and draw an extended centerline you will quickly find that there *are* mountains very close by and the shoreline is even closer. At approx a 5NM final there's a mountain peak (the base is even closer) at 0.7NM from the centerline. There are certain approach design criteria in place and if certain minimum distances are not adhered to, the approach must be designed with an offset rather than a straight in. There can also be political reasons for such offsets, such as keeping aircraft away from the shoreline, which might house hotels and thus have a detrimental effect on local tourism if aircraft went over the beaches all the time.

ifly takes round 3 in the chip
After update 3.0.105 my 737-700 don't work anymore. My cockpit is black... I have update from version 019 to 105.
Don’t forget to add ramp/ runway maneuver /landing camera by default and not as add on ! Here it’s butter walk and we don’t appreciate that
Would be happy if PMDG is updating the sounds too
Love this plane. Also happy the //42 vfx pack came out recently for it too
Very much anticipated update! Though it's not very clear from the video what exactly has changed in the flare.
I hope you fix the phenomenon of cockpit turning excessively blue during the day on a clear day
@A330 Driver Has PMDG considered a checklist buddy like the FSS 727 has? It would be nice to be able to click a button to have the virtual copilot run checklists rather than try to taxi the airplane and turn off lights, etc.
I’m sure they have considered it, but there is always FS2Crew you can buy that does pretty much exactly this.
I hoped to see a gsx integration as well, hopefully next time. But can't wait for the improvements
1 Manual braking heats the breaks and takes the tiers to a melting point in pmdg (Just one hard breaking, not sure if that's the case in the real world) 737-800
The ifly B737-8 max does not have this issue with the brakes temperature!
then again, the max is a totally different aircraft. so in comparing this, it shows a lack of understanding
I did lots of hard brake applications in the PMDG, but never managed to overheat or break the tires. Are you sure you operate the airplane within its limits? Of course, if you touch down at 180kt and then do max manual that might be a different scenario... but in that case I'd blame the iFly for not melting the fuse plugs, not PMDG for doing so. ;-)
@@A330Driver
I got you, thank you for replying
I am no pilot Emanual, so I wouldn't know. But yes, autobrake 2 resolve the issue and keeps the temp around 1.0
When I got ifly, the did the braking test and the do not heat that much even with full manual braking (1.5). I will test high speed landing see!
Thank you very much Emanual, this channel is the most valuable resource for people like me !
Flae looks good hopefully the bizarre ground handling ie nose yawing left and right rapidly defying the laws of physics can be fixed..777 suffers frm the same issues oe inertialess travel which if happened in an aircraft would see my head slammed into a side window. PMDG are doing a pretty good job overcoming the terrible flight model in msfs ope they continue the good work..thanks for the video. BTW that LNAV armed thingis bizarre the 777 nor 787 display LNAV'/LNAV is it any wonder 73 guys get confused..
Finally the weather radar!
I say AOA is dynamic change for CG , beauty it is
Finally the 737 has got his love
Awesome, my fav aircraft just got better, flight model looks much improved, do these changes to the nav data mean you do not use the Navigraph data?..Weather radar is really appreciated
The "Explosion" heard round the world...I hope they get this fixed...
Thanks for briefing n the update, I now find that I cannot engage VNAV at any stage of my flight after installing the update. Has some procedure been added that needs to be selected before VNAV can engage.
Thank you Emmanuel ! So interesting. Will the B736 be included in the update ? Does the vertical profile in the ND already exists in the B736 too ? Safe flights ! Jean-michel, France.
I can't wait for this update!
I wish I was home to try this out....thanks for the video and thanks to pmdg !!!!
You still have a bit of time, it’s not out yet 😉
Hope they create a proper fix so I can fly this plane without it randomly crashing, and not just avoid using TA/RA!
Looks good! Just wish they’d re-do the sounds because it sucks the soul out of this plane. These sounds do no justice to how much bass the NG has IRL
@A330 Driver
The most important question right now is: Will PMDG update all planes for MSFS 2024 or just be lazy and sell it anyway as 2020 payware in the new marketplace
Their last statement was that if updates can be done easily they will do them for free, if significant work is required they might charge for that.
Awesome ! Haben sie auch die Modellanimationen gefixt ( Wingflex ect ? )
i recall in your Rome video, when starting taxi, you increased throttles to very high (near 70%) for a split second and then decreased it back to around 40 for the remaining acceleration.
@@A330Driver Thank you. Initially thought you were trying to get a little extra burst of acceleration from 0. Appreciate the insight
Would be wonderful if you could clue us as to WHEN this 'update' will release- even better to give us the 'release number' so we could check it in our PMDG OPS application... please and thank you.
I'd love to do that - but that would mean I'd have to know either of them.
The 777 has the same capabilities as the 737, yes.
@@A330Driver Is the implementation of RTE 2 planned?
I’ll still have to run with the sound pack as the engines still sound like hair dryers. Look forward to flying it though!
I WANT THAT HAIRDRYER! That must be an epic machine!
@@A330Driver 😂😂
Are you using FSRealistic? The camera shakes look really good.
@@A330Driver That's sad to read... I hope that will change, and better Weather Radars come to msfs
Wish PMDG had expedited their Max, they missed the mark on that one. This update however, looks nice and is well overdue.
Thank you for the nice insight! I would have two questions:
- Will this update affect all PMDG 737 Variants for MSFS (-900 and -600 as well?), also if bought in the ingame market place?
- You say the updated flight model is only noticeable with "higher-end" controls -- which one would you recommend for this?
Thanks alot!
Very nice that you can now control the ground services from the efb. Do you know if pmdg plans to implement the option to calculate an intersection takeoff like in the fenix?
I believe the problem with that is a lack of a database of approved intersections. No idea where Fenix got theirs from.
@ Thank you for your speedy reply. I thought that might be the case but then I thought if anyone knows, you would 👍🏼
PMDG and weather radar.... omg... I was waiting all my life for thi!
Remember though, it’s still just the useless Asobo thing… doesn’t have much to do with a real weather radar.
Will there have a CPDLC in the future?☺
Great question
Will PMDG update the 737 sounds?
i dont understand why sim developpers cant give a release date ! i've never seen a movie teaser without at least a month indicated .
5 fps wingflex also is being fixed ?
In your dreams lol
@@tax54321 🤣🤣
Excellent video!
likke he said, quality takes time and now you almost have it
Thanks for the video. Will the update allow for RNAV RNP approaches with RF legs?
Sweet news. Cheers
Did they improve the HUD? The hud looks like taken from FSX days. It seem very low res.
Thank u you're the best
Hello! What should we do to see an update on the horrific wingflex animation sir ? I could pay to see that. It’s been a problem that almost all the community shared with you guys but it seems to be a very taboo subject..!
a330neo toliss review when
I was just wondering, is being able to set the landing gear selector to the "OFF" position part of the new update? As earlier it wasn't letting me or is there just something wrong with my keybinds?
The OFF position was modelled since the original release version. Make sure you don't have a piece of hardware constantly sending the command to raise the gear (think TM Boeing Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle and others that have a gear lever).
@@A330Driver Oh right that makes more sense, thanks for that I will have a look into the gear lever bind.
The update is coming out when? I don't see it.
Have they slightly modified the VC textures?
what is the version of the update thank you
Hi, the current beta is .0105, but if that will be final or if there might be any additional updates is out of my control
Thanks for the video. What about tiller? Is it fixed yet?
Great news. PMDG continues to improve the 737 as they always do with their products. It's becoming more realistic that it has never been. Great !
Wx radar finally ! 👍
I hope one day they'll rework on the EFB to make it more like the original Boeing EFB/OPT as before in P3D.
@@GodfatherCZ1 I was meaning the Boeing OPT but with the tablet, not the integrated old Boeing device.
Thanks for your answer ! 👍
@@GodfatherCZ1 Personally I think PMDG’s is the best… I find Fenix to be very finicky and frankly I don’t like it.
I really hate the iFly one though. It’s UGLY
@@bonbondeselCheck out Virtual Performance Tool. Additional cost but it is more or less an exact clone of the real OPT. Has a free demo for some airports.
Why would they miss adding a cpdlc capability?
@@A330Driver That makes sense. Thanks!
