Excellent video. Just the right balance. One place where the water usually gets in is the water rudder post hole. You were spot on filling the floats with foam - very little extra weight and insurance against total sinking plus it would give extra strength length-wise in the float. Look forward to more.
Awesome plane! have just built it and it flies great. this is definitely my next project and cant wait to build them!! Thanks so much for all the plans especially as they're free
I am making tiny floats for my mini mustang p51D. Without a rudder in the floats, it is hard to maneuver on water but i almost got it working... Will make a video if it works My first rc plane was an Art Tech Coota , a water plane and since then I got the waterplane fever
Great project, looks and works great. I've been playing with colored wing tape (which I got from hobbyking) to make my foamboard creations look nicer. It's basically shipping tape that is colored, but also very thin and light. That might help with the discolorations some of your foaming glue caused as well as additional waterproofing. It looks to me like you are using too much elevator in your water take-offs - you want the plane to kind of lift/bounce itself off the water when it has enough speed to break surface tension. Try to only use enough elevator to prevent prop strikes on the water - you can probably back off elevator as you speed up - down to 20% or so at take off. If it doesn't want to take off without lots of elevator, you might need to add a little wing incidence by adding a 3-5mm shim under the front of your wing on the fusealage, or by just decreasing the height between the back of the pontoons and the tail of your plane.
Thanks for your ideas. I'm pretty sure I wasn't using too much elevator in the second try, but I have to because otherwise there's a risk of dipping the nose of the pontoons and crash. But it actually takes off very easy.
I use depron and cover it with scotch tape.. sticky tape.. depends on what u call it. Do it with overlap of more than 50% and it becomes pretty much water resistant
And cool plane + nice pontoons

I recently build the simple free flight glider and I have to say, its an amazing plane and flies great
Tanks for your information..
Another great build and flight, young fellah! Almost tempted to get out of my rocking chair and try to build something. :D
Is that you theo

I like it, you are amazing. For the next project you can make a simple warbird.
Great job. Will be adding floats to my scratch built, foamie Lazy Bee 🐝

Cool video, I am wondering how much the plane weighs, do you know?
I have one question , may be foolish , are you connecting the float rudder servo thru Y cable on plane rudder servo ?
Thank you!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You should make a tiny whoop.By building this tiny whoop you fly and enjoy a lot in your home in this lockdown situation
You always flies very amazing rc planes can you please tell me that the flight time of these planes using 3 or 4s battery?
This plane can take from a 2000 mAh to 4000 mAh battery. And fly for about 8 to 15 min respectevly
I love your channel!
Estoy suscrito a tu canal en español, no sabía que tenias este otro 😅
Joy excelente job
u can use the same engine on LEGO propeller planes
looks good, big fan!!!.
you added the rudder on the left which create a noticeable drag during takeoff. also its weight turns the model towards left. i think soo🤔❤️
Great content!
"You are awesome!" Keanu Reeves
"LOOK ITS LANDING!"
(Everyone liked that)
Woowwww 😮... Awesome 😮 👏👏👏👏
Bro. Battery how many voltages ahnd mah are used here
amazing just pure amazingness
Why not try some cardboard free flight
Gliders because i am currently out of foam and it is not available easily
That would be great if you try so
Just go to a hardware store, at least in America they sell insulation foam boards for next to nothing, im not sure about other countries.
I really loved it
try this with joy mini
great video
Next video: Make a solar plane! 😊
Please make a flight test rc ft commuter. This plane a awasome
nicee landing...👌
Exelent vidéo
