This TAS is a good example of the power of the velocity bruteforce compared to manual driving like we did in the previous TAS. The previous TAS was basically only a segmented run driven with TMinterface because velocity bruteforce wasn't even a thing. After noticing the large gain when redoing the Balalaika TAS, xeqzion decided to give Deep Fear another try. There are also some other factors that explain the difference like the fact that it was rushed in 5 days compared to 3 months with this one.

Bypass? They had 753 speed... WAY over the requirement
@@SilentEliminator I think he means that you need at least 712, but not more as well. Since the jump really is precise, having 753 would make the car bonk somewhere so it's still a bypass
@@SilentEliminator If they jumped straight at 753, they would have probably either bonked on the slope the car jumps under, or overjumped the checkpoint entirely

I really had to watch in slomo, and still dont understand it
The car was going too fast, as you need 712 speed at the end of the uphill to make the jump, and of you go any faster, you would not get to the first platform fast enough, and your downward velocity would be too high to get to the next platform. He reduced airtime while keeping his speed by going off the left edge. The reason why he still landed on the next platform without falling off the left side, is because his two right wheels hooked onto the road before his car went off the end of the uphill, and the car barely made it to the next platform without falling off the left side or hitting the ring cp.

compared to some TAS of other maps, this one is gracefully gliding over the map, unobstructed and unbothered by even the most perilous obstacles.
and the music fits perfectly with that, especially in the beginning.

though i can't wait till someone creates an insane TAS that just chains uberbugs and nosebugs and whatever else to utterly destroy any world records humans could ever hope to achieve.
certainly wouldn't be the first map for that to happen to.

If you mean loop skip, unfortunately the end of the loop is slightly above ground so the car wouldn’t be able to glide smoothly onto it
Edit: ignore my previous remark, Actually maybe possible but would still gain a lot of airtime with that much speed and loops aren’t that inefficient at that speed anyway

What I find insane is that there don't seem to be any cuts on a 10 minute track. Crazy
Pretty sure there's enough ring CPs spread around, and Deep Fear actually makes use of a large part of the available level box.
@@fuuryuuSKK for sure! I didn't even mean like any major cuts. Just stuff like loop skips or similar (a few loops looked very skippable if it was going faster)
@@TmOnlineMapper the thing with that is that especially in FS-maps xou want to spend as little time as possible with all wheels in the air. for cuts it's almost guaranteed that the car will spend more time in the air than doing the track the normal way. Particularly in this TAS, the car spends almost its entire time on the ground accelerating, and any time spent doing the mandatory jumps is minimized as much as possible by manipulating the tilt of the car

Rather, I think he will be incredibly proud that his run was a mere 32s slower than the theoretical best on this absurdly difficult track. It shows that his record will probably be unbeatable apart from TASes
