Quincy Jones - Secret Garden Reaction

  • In this video we're checking out Quincy Jones. Anyone who grew up in the 80's knows Quincy as a producer for some of the greatest artists of the time. Some might know his work in the 60's with songs like Soul Bossa Nova. Since it's Friday, and we saw Rob Squad Reactions watching it this week, we thought we'd check it out too. And no, we didn't watch them watching the video yet. That would be cheating. Enjoy!

    You two obviously possess a good deal of emotional depth. That's what draws people to certain music such as "Secret Garden." British research studies on music types discovered that those who are drawn to soft and touching sounds are what scientists term "Empaths." On the other end of the spectrum are those who are drawn to hard-driving ( often blaring) sounds, like heavy metal, etc. I, too, am apparently an Empath.🙂

    There is a remake of this song that I think is just as good, although the original version is from my generation. It was remade by Sisqo (from the group Dru Hill), Shawn Stockman(from the group BoyzllMen), Omar Wilson, Raheem DeVaughn. The original will always be my favorite.

      I’m sorry ma’am with all due respect. Please no disrespect. I’ve heard the remake, but original song musicianship/singers are on a different level. No disrespect to the other singers, but the original song is perfection. Please forgive me, I respect your opinion. ❤️🔥

    • @DjMikeiam
      @DjMikeiam ปีที่แล้ว +5

      sorry but the secret garden is one of those songs you shouldn't remake. I disagree with you that it is as good as the original. there are so many subtle things in the original that make this song. the song starts with "tell me a secret" right there the song is already a classic.

    Well you guys sound like you’ve probably heard a lot of music. So gotta take issue with the use of the term in regards to Silk Sonic, ‘flash in the pan’, which is a kind of low grade expression, almost implying like ‘one hit wonders’, which I don’t think is what you really meant. I guess you meant it’s a one time project stating, ‘they’re not gonna do it again.’ We don’t know WHAT they’ll do. They both have their own projects & Anderson did quite a bit of live appearances with his Free Nationals group, after the 1st Silk Sonic run in Vegas, which I understand they’ll be doing again. One thing is for sure, that if they decide to revisit the collaboration on new material, they will go all in, & to do so with that level of musical aptitude, skill, artistry & commitment, will most likely bring more amazing results. They have definitely set a high bar for themselves, but have repeatedly shown they operate on that level & bring it every time. Speaking of which, there is actually a live version of these 4 performing this song on an awards show or something. Pretty entertaining. Anyway, can’t help but notice the young lady here getting lost in the song, jus sayin. Nice reaction! 👍
