Musso recaps LSU's 0-3 weekend at Arkansas. How old and new issues combined led to losses. Is LSU close to turing the ship around? If so, what needs to happen?
This from a Hawgs fanatic...don't give up on your defending national champs...looks like the talent is there...LSU battled hard all weekend long....they can catch fire at any time...postseason is where the tale will be told....
Hog fan here as well. I was there, all 3 games. Sitting at wall at 3rd base. Lots of action there. Tommy Whits’s a real dude hitter. We were all afraid every time he came up. AR is for real. Pitching is above every other college team. Offense is coming along, not what it needs to be, but I believe it will get there. LSU is like really good, really good. Playing before 11,000 is different even though LSU does that at The Box. Being both an AR and LSU grad (probably not a lot of us out there, plus I live in AR and daughter/family live in LA with son-in-law having played baseball for LA Tech) I can evenly say LSU will be “there” at the SEC tourney and NCAAs. Stay with your team. And remember, it’s just baseball. On this Easter Sunday, so many other more important issues in our country and world.
@@jimfranks I ALMOST agree with everything you said... Then..🤔....for some strange reason..you tried to RANK college baseball's regular season clash between the HAWGS and the Bayou Bengal Tigers as something LESS THAN world events like war & hunger & the economy , whatever....you totally lost me after that....😑................................................😁
@@brettrobinson2901 Yea, your probably right. Either way, college baseball is surely a great outlet for all the issues of the world. Even if one’s favorite teams loses, “the game” is still a whole lot better than the crap in the world.
I guess one positive is that we were competitive all three games. Second positive is how awesome Herring pitched. Last positive, for me, is the emergence of Larson as a potential everyday player.
Baseball is a funny game. I thought you saw three games with two outstanding clubs and the difference between winning and losing was mere inches. Both teams scouted each other well, and at times were in the perfect defensive alignment. The weather kept balls in the park on Thursday that flew out on Saturday. I love that my guys won all three, but we could have easily lost all of them -- that's how close these two teams are. Play that series down in the Box and it might be the opposite. LSU baseball will be there at the end.
Hog fan here you guys are good and had us worried a few times and tommy white was a pain that had everyone in my section clinching the seat when he came up. Thursday was horrible (umps) and i thought cam johnson looked good as the true freshman comming in at a tough spot.
Hog fan here....everybody plays us close...just cant overcome our pitching because its just one stud after another. Its stressful for hog fans. We will probably all be in AA by the end of the year.
Arkansas fan her... depends how yall saeson go i think lsu will be alright but next year oh boy yall are going to be straight next year for real i see potential this is pain growing pains right now
Just wonder why milazzo isn’t playing. Really really frustrating watching a senior leader who has a truly consistent bat and doesn’t go for selfless homers. Just wants to help the team any way possible
LSU is a good ball club, i love my Hogs but I'm not wanting to play LSU again. Yall will end up in a regional and if you make a regional, then you have a chance especially if you get hot in regionals.
Apart from the obvious offensive deficiencies, this team has also been very unlucky. It's not a good combination, and it's gonna be an uphill climb from here on out. For better or for worse, Geaux Tigers.
LSU is unclutch. Nothing to do with “that’s baseball”. Literally not getting any breaks. Dominated one game and lost the rest sans holding onto game 2 at moo state after being up by 9. Time to start making major changes.

It will come together. Seasons young.

Woo pig. Those were 3 games that all came down to a matter of inches. Against the #1 team, that means y’all are a Really good team too.
Thank you for these recaps Musso. Coach will get it worked out. Perhaps they need to focus on the mental side. They have the talent.

LSU is good, home games for Arkansas which is #1 they are really good. LSU shouldn’t feel bad at all
The pitching hasn't been great but the lack of situational hitting at the plate is KILLING this team.
Yes honestly maybe 5 of 9 hitters I trust every time at bat unfortunately.

What is our batting average in SEC play now?

They played good enough to beat 90% of the teams in America. Arkansas pitching is deep. Tygart didn’t even have his good stuff.
You have to remember that it is just as hard for the visiting team to win at Baum-Walker as it is for the visitors to win at Box.
TCU had no problem whatsoever
@Musso when's the last time LSU lost 5 consecutive SEC games?
Arkansas is a very good baseball team it’s no disgrace to lose to them
Tommy White was Arkansas's best player

It’s the hitting
5 straight SEC game losses but who’s counting lol
Holman not himself in 2 out of the last 3 SEC starts. Hmmm
He hasn't been good in either of his SEC road starts
LSU will be fine
It's all ova but da crying.
It’s done. Seasons over

This team stinks
