If you ever get the chance, attend a NIGHT game at LSU against somebody good (Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss). A night game at LSU is truly a surreal experience. Not to mention the best food in the country surrounds the stadium for hours until kickoff.

I arrived in Louisiana when my husband was stationed at Barksdale AFB. LSU fans are insane. I live in Bossier City and fans here wear LSU T-shirts, turn off phone ringers and have parties weekly fir the games. These are not 20 or 30 somethings. They are in 50's to 80's. I am for team spirit but these people bring it to a new level.
It's a wicked party school also.

Every Saturday, every person turns on the game and has a party. Doesn't matter what you have going on, people will always watch it. Couples who want fall weddings will always, always schedule it so that it doesn't fall on a home game Saturday. My brother just had one where they made sure to schedule the wedding when LSU played an out of town game. It is a carnival each home game day. A whole display, not for the faint of heart or the lightweights. A huge bonanza where the football game is the center of it, but only a part of it. The spirit, the atmosphere is impressive to say the least. Never been to another university football game that compares. And it happens 8x a year. Where other holidays like St Patricks Day in Boston is 1 day a year. LSU football big bonanza is 8 home games a year. Add in that Mardi Gras spans a month of parades, Louisiana is by far the most festive state.
The band sometimes practices on that field and we even got to chill in the weight room for a bit one time. Such a cool facility. Geaux Tigers!
Only the locker room is $28 million. The LSU football facility is worth roughly $43 million.
Joe Burrow grew up in Ohio, in Highschool won the Mr. Ohio award and originally went to Ohio state his first year, but then transferred to LSU in 2018. And by the way, the transfer portal is gnu like came out maybe five years ago where college players can now change teams if they choose to enter the portal.

A college facility is not only supposed to be inspirational for the players, but, perhaps more importantly, it's to help with recruiting high school players to commit to their school. Unlike the NFL, high school players are in the driver's seat with regards to where they will play college football, and top level schools like this go out of their way to recruit the best high school players in the nation. Showing a high school kid a facility like this will go a long way towards convincing him that this is the place he needs to spend his college career.
As a lifelong LSU fan and living all my life in Louisiana, thank you for doing this video. My grandma is British, and married my grandpa after WW2. I am curious to how the clubs in England develop young players to the premier league?
$28M is just for the single new building. Total costs in the SEC can be 10x that number.

So spot on... I recall when Saban came here, to LSU saying LSU would never be a "Power" until we changed our mindset, and worked on facilities like this. I think this is the 12th "football expansion", not including Tiger Stadium, itself. The Chef, who caters exclusively to the LSU Football team is just totally first-class in his nutritional development and menu design.

Each position group in FB acts like individual units of the whole .
So, (QBs, WRs, RB, OL, TE, DL LB, CB, S) ALL have their own position coaches, meeting rooms and partially practice together.
Part of FB training includes a good amount of studying/classroom time .
The -eaux spelling is significant because it was like a nod to Louisiana and our culture. There are a lot of Cajun French people in the state and a lot of last names end in -eaux. We like to sub out -eaux for the O sound any chance we get. Ex: instead of saying Go Tigers, it’s Geaux Tigers. So Burrow=Burreaux…. He did that for senior night. It was a big deal to us.
The marching band also practices in the football facility during GameDay rehearsals. An amazing experience!
I know LSU had many successful nfl players but odell beckham jr went there in college and was real good too, i know odell is a little known outside the US

Pretty amazing how far colleges have come, sometimes copying from NFL teams but other times leading them. "Our orthopedic surgeon recommends this..." or "our two Ph.D. sport psychologists recommends these things". One school I know has a panel of 5 Ph.D.s in human nutrition working with 2 culinary academy trained chefs to give the guys and gals what is optimal and perfect for each game. Stuff is organic, sometimes raised at university gardens, and even tested at the university food science labs for quality, purity, etc. The University of Florida at Gainsville invented Gaterade as the perfect hydration drink and athletes around the planet us it or a copy.
As someone who is from Louisiana and went to LSU, I love our facilities. And they are toward the top in the country. But probably not the best. I personally think Oregon is number 1.

It’s remarkable how college football has grown. I’m in my 50s and college football was generally ignored 40-50 years ago. But over the last 20-30 years it has just become continuously bigger, to where it nearly competes with the NFL.
It would be an interesting show to discuss why that it. Is there something about college ball that is drawing people? Is the NFL not as exciting as it used to be?
Great video, I had the opportunity to visit the University of Georgia's new training facility at the beginning of this season, and they really are impressive.
It'd be interesting to see the British/European soccer (football) facilities and how they train considering that I imagine they're more focused on stamina/endurance.
You're right, Football/Soccer training is much more heavily focused on Endurance more importantly drills and tactical training. Most clubs will run a light gym session to start the day off but from there the endurance really comes from just playing the game itself..
Any strength work is done by the players In their spare time for the most part and a lot of clubs will be against players from becoming "Too big"
This obviously differs from club to club though and their own beliefs.
LSU’s facility is tops in the NCAA.
The competition for talent is so great, especially now w/ many players only staying 2 or 3 yrs max, it's really crazy how much $$ is involved in D-1 athletics, especially D-1 Football. That's why the college game is so popular and great, not only are the athletes incredible for teenagers, but, add to all that the College atmosphere and NCAA Football is just CRAZY!! Not just in the south, where it's always been a religion, but EVERYWHERE now.

Believe it or not the whole place looking modern and new and bright and flashy is a recruiting perc. Kids who are thinking about playing for you school visit and spend a weekend there. They have to be wowed and feel like this is the place they wanna play and leave their mark. They look at schools as a path to the pros
Yes, they give two trophies. One to the winner and another to the school.

Now you have to check out ALL 130+ FBS Division 1 facility tours 😂. Only joking with you. It is really neat how much pride and effort goes into designing these facilities. It really is a first impression to these young athletes when they are deciding on choosing a school. It's where they are going to spend a lot of time for the next 4 to 5 years. It can be a make or break deal for some recruits

LSU has great facilities for sure but if you want a real greatest facility of all time you must react to this channels video on my Alabama Crimson Tide’s $288,000,000 facility. We are one of the biggest powerhouses in college football with 18 National Championships(the most of any team) although we haven’t had a great year this year we will be back💪🏽

We did indeed! I honestly don't get why so many people get angry at the word "Soccer" doesn't make you any less of a fan. I will always call it football but it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Dont let em fool you bud. Im sure they would 'like' to graduate every player, because it makes their graduation rates look better. But there isnt a person in that building aside from probably the academic advisors/tutors who put academics above football at LSU. Make no mistake, college football is big business. They know it. You can keep a 4.0 gpa but if you aren't producing you ain't gonna be around long.
Its ESPECIALLY big business in the SEC.
But overall, athlete graduation rates are higher than non-athlete grad rates
