Daniel Roik I would like to see Eric get more love in the drum community. The dude is a beast, yet i rarely ever see his name come up. I would love to see the two of them do a drum shed together.
Never knew that single note drumming was a thing, but damn! I gotta be honest, that sounds better then usual drumming. So funky, yet super tight and clean. Cool way of playing, for sure.
Wow unbelievable that haha. It's probably the most popular style of drumming especially for younger drummers in recent years. All those mad chops and rapid fire groves that dominate the scene are 90% basically singles /triplets. It's just the orchestration and speed that makes them seem impossible. very fun to jam with
He's amazing.....so is vinnie colaiuta, Virgil donati, Thomas pridgen, jojo mayer, eric moore, Simon phillips. Big call to say he's best in the world .. I'd say that what he does, best He does awesomely. Perhaps he is the best in the world in your eyes which is understandable.
@@edengarden8815 hes the best in the world as far as ive seen. The other drummers you listed are very very very good. But tony i think is a bit above them. Thus being the best drummer in the word.
Awesome stuff. Linear beats and fills always seems like one of those things where I look at it on paper and I think it just looks easy and boring, but then I start playing and have the realisation that it's awesome!
@@Centttttt60 you can pull of 3 groupings as 32nd notes with a lot of practise I personally can, not well mind you but I'm sure professionals could do 3 and 4 groups anything above would be near impossible I imagine
Wow, just watched a zoom interview with butch miles telling about this and had to check it out, off course Drumeo had a video on the subject, it’s like free jazz only more strict, he hits at odd times still it sounds synced, amazing! I see now why butch said it’s difficult 😅😅
when i google best drummers of all time its literally embarrassing that tony doesn't pop up. He puts almost all other dummers to shame and thats not an exaggeration.
He's crazily accurate! Yet it's still useful to play double bass for this guy, even for doubles because the second note of his technique is less accentuated than the first one. If you slow down the video, you can notice it, or if you just listen. With two pedals, you get two even notes.
True true, dynamics are an essential tool. Although in metal and genres alike, a drummer is expected to play double bass notes as dynamically solid as possible. I sometimes play strokes with two pedals instead of one just for the sake of them being dynamically solid even if I can play it with one foot but not as dynamically solid
The fact that this legend does 2 and 2s that fast with a single pedal just blows my mind. Love this guy!
Tony Royster Jr. is just an incredible drummer such an inspiration to me and his God given talent is just unbeatable love his drumming
This Young Man is Simply Phenomenal With his Timing and His Playing.
Been watching this guy since he was 12 yrs old. Serious boss on the drums.
True Master. Virtuoso. Inspiration. Love Tony!!
Drum's Are so Amazing, Tony Royster & Eric Moore are Extreme Mode.

sleuth 2077 FOR REAL IKR.
that intro was siiiiiick. the singles between the bass and toms. *drool*

Shock Wave626 no doubt about what you're saying.

When a drummer records multi platinum albums with different bands then I think you're one of the the best drummers in the world.. eg Jeff Porcaro,
I have learn alot from jus listening to how you move around the kit. It gives inspiration to learn more

wish I could read music
+Nate R reading music isn't hard, reading music quickly is hard :p
+Nicholas Reguin lol
Drum sheet music isn't too tough, I'm sure you can get it
+Nicholas Reguin I'll have to give it a try then thnx..I learn thru hearing and feeling of the beat..but I kno reading would benefit me more
This fellow does not need a double bass pedal
Vemund Strypet he would for continuous 32nd notes
@@CartwrightFour or even for short 32nd note bursts consisting of just 3 or 4 hits ;-)
@@Centttttt60 you can pull of 3 groupings as 32nd notes with a lot of practise I personally can, not well mind you but I'm sure professionals could do 3 and 4 groups anything above would be near impossible I imagine
Everybody need a double pedal. Doubles on a single pedal and doubles with double pedal give different feel
So cool to watch and he makes it sound so simple to understand.
He's my favvvv. Very useful vid thank you!
Tony... is Tony...!! Simply the best
Wonderful. Thank you Drumeo and Tony.
Tony and Cobus are in my opinion the best at this kind of drumming
there are plenty of good drummers out there. Buddy Rich, one of the greats.

Nice Work Tony Royster JR.

I like linear drumming
This is so good. Great stuff.

I love drumeo! ❤
lovely... so awesome Tony
when i google best drummers of all time its literally embarrassing that tony doesn't pop up. He puts almost all other dummers to shame and thats not an exaggeration.
Royster was the first one that started to change the way i play now. All of sudden it was all about gospel chops
his foot is so fast i doubt he ever has to use his left foot for bass lol i'm jealous
+Kaden Lawson lol you should see when he plays double then unreal

Michiel Vanderheyden dynamics are part of life bud. Always aim for the last note and you’ll always get there! ;)

This dude is so amazing
wow just made joey jordison look like a rookie at his signature move...
Joey is best.
LOL
What’s your point? There’s always gonna be someone “better” than you so who cares?
1:01....wow!!
Just lovely!
That is the best sounding kit! Omg! Does anyone know if it's the actual kit or all synthesized from the mics?? Cuz I want mine to sound like this!!
This with headphones is boomin
Thank you gentlemens for your big deal)
He's dope!
Legend
Left hand high hat, yeaaaa
Woah. I got to try this!!! :D
The Tom Toms singing ❤
Your awesome!
Correct me if im wrong but isnt linear drumming one hit at a time? I see him hit the hihat and snare at the same time a few times.
That foot dude!
I love your shoes. Jordan bred1❤️🖤
how can you apply this on a much smaller set up? I only have 2 toms and 2 cymbals.
@Drumeo what top and bottom Tom heads is he using in this video?
Please please invite ?uestlove for a lesson is one of my favorites
.
are you going to upload this eventually ?????????
Awesome..
Please do Steve gadd :)
yeah, i think tony's a little better then ol' stevey. face it, the younger generation of drummers is way better than the older generation. facts.
S Saxena not really
Is the first example technically linear if he's hitting that snare at the same time as a tom
His 1:00 linear is my obsession!
Looks like a lot to what Mike Mangini likes to do ^^ look him up (you may already know him though)
yeah! totally agree
Demands great skill but it’s worth it!
awsome
On the 1st one arnt you hitting the tom and the snare together making it non linear?
Fc that crossover old school style
Súper. .!
i like his solo he is so damn doing good 😉
4:17 😲
I have a question: why does it say "right foot" in pattern #1 and "kick" in patterns #2 and #3? There's a certain lack of coherence.
p r e c i s i o n . . . . and g r o o v e
how to tune the snare drum sound like this?? what about the snare head?? how many snare wires???
I love it
I wanted to be like
Tony Royster
Coool!!
Anyone know the wood this kit is made of?
1:15
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays? It's part of a song but I forgot
What color is this collectors setup? mapa burl.......?
