If this was released after the world of Assassination Trilogy, maybe it would've been appreciated more. I am one of the 90% of the Hitman fans who played this game and did not played it again, and thanks to the WOA trilogy, I want to revisit this again. Made me think, ei I'm a Hitman fan and this is not a bad game, the story is kind of off, but this is still a Hitman game and I'm a fan, and I own the game.
Never really got into the Hitman series but I did enjoy Absolution. It looks pretty, has many cool set pieces and satisfying stealth and shooting mechanics. I can see though why the core fan base didn't like it that much
(HITMAN is the first perfect gameplay version of the Hitman series. It combined all the best things from the previous versions). Hitman Absolution's gameplay is not perfect, not the best, but it's characters, voice acting,etc. They are the best of the series.
Great game but I think making it a hitman game was a bad decision. I knew it wasn't hitman when you were forced to kill like 4 guards at the end of the first level. Levels were big but a lot more linear that other hitman games and disguises being barely usable killed the vibe. They really took all the fan feedback on board then produced the best trilogy of games to date.
For me this is the last good hitman game. I've played them all, apart from the first old one and the world of assassination stuff. Played the first mission in the new hitman 1 WOA series and it sucked. The weapon changing system is so off putting. That rotating wheel just ruins the immersive experience. I just can't bring myself to continue it. I really hope they make second absolution style game.
It was kinda sad finding out that the game was garbage from pretty much the very start. Some of the early concepts like 47 being a hobo and using his tie to strangle enemies sounded great, but, as I gather, were never implemented.

But every Hitman player has played it and nearly 90% of fans say the game is a misstep throughout the Hitman series.

That’s why the characters feel a lot more real in Hitman Absolution. I kinda miss that in the current games where targets feel lifeless.
Great stealth action game but just doesn’t feel like Hitman.
