I just started a shiny run in SoulSilver and got a Shiny Chikorita after only 701 resets, so that was sweet. Being able to see if the starter was shiny right off the bat is pretty nice too
Awesome run so far, gen 2 is my favorite gen! I've hatched a lot of shinys in this gen since the odds are good. Also, the way shinys are determined this gen, all the Pokemon you get are going to have very high stat values, so that should help!

I’m a bit sad you got a shiny Totodile and not a shiny Cyndaquil, since that is the shiny I got in my play through. But I’m still happy you got a shiny nontheless.
