Love your positivity! I am so gad you found OTF! you will continue to love it. so many teachers do it at my studio (and in my district). its the best energy release and also stress reliever!
The February break tradition came from the ski industry! Time off in February allowed families to give business to New England ski mountains. Mass, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and maybe Connecticut and Rhode island all stagger their vacation weeks so the business is spread throughout the month.
True! Currently MA is pretty standard as third week of February, and at least in northern CT it is still similar (thought some CT districts don't take a whole week). NH is generally one week off from that, and as you indicated, it is mainly because of skiing.
It’s funny how our lives were similar this week. My school also had a district walkthrough on Thursday. A big group of administrators and our Superintendent. We were all working hard and a bit stressed. They did not come into my room at all. 😬 😌 TFS your week! ☺️
Love your videos and energy! Just binge watched all of them haha. When I was little I always wanted to be a teacher and this reminds me of that, even though I study law at the moment
Loved your vlog Lauren! I was also off last week. In England we call it half term. I also missed my children and it was so lovely to see them all back safely at the beginning of this week. Hope you are having an amazing time in Florida celebrating your Nan's 80th birthday. X
Ahhh. So that's why your video was up so early. Your catching a plane to Florida. Happy Birthday Nana! Love your videos and you lovely, sunny personality. Thanks for all the time you take making these videos. 😊
Hi Lauren! I’ve been enjoying watching your videos and I love your energy and enthusiasm! I am a veteran teacher and it’s refreshing getting new perspectives from fresh minds 😊! I have a question, eureka math has problem sets but not much practice. I’m curious to know what you use for math practice in your rotation. Thanks!
You have mentioned that you use fundations. Our county is thinking about adopting it next year. What reading curriculum is paired with your fundations? Also can you share your favorite or daily math games from the tpt stores you are finding them from? Love you bunches! So thankful for you! I’m a first year firstie too😊
For guided reading, I have seen where teachers share their kids. You look at the whole grade level and group students. You will most likely be able to group students better by their level that way. It sounds like that might work especially with how well it seems like you two get along.
Can you explain how you run your reading instruction/centers, is it similar to how you run your math instruction/centers and where do you get the hands on centers you use for your rotation? Thanks!
i'm catching up on your vlogs and it is so sad to watch this. it takes me back to when we were all in routine and had report cards ahead of us and had no idea how much everything was about to change. sorry for the sad comment. you do brighten my day!!
I love working with rotations and I find that my kids do so much better in small group rather than whole group. When you have a sub would you leave the PowerPoint for them or would you not do rotations that day?
It's so odd to hear that the kids have to hang up coats and put them on before going outside, since I have lived in California my whole life we never did that, we had sweaters and jackets on during the winter but we would wear then all day or if we wanted to take then off during the day we would hang then on our chair or backpack hook.

I agree with the comment you referenced. Show more over talking. And pause a little on what you're showing, it goes so quickly. But otherwise, great vlogs!!!
You're vlogs are literally the best. I look forward to them so much! 40mins isnt ever long enough for me 😂
That random insert from home on Friday was so so so PERFECT and bomb omgoodness I love your vids

Kristin Jaklitsch OTF?
@@ccc919 Yes. I have been doing it for three and a half years while teaching and it is the best stress reliever after a long day.
Loved this video! 💜 I am halfway through my student teaching and can’t wait to hopefully have a classroom of my own!

How has your “look what we’ve read” board been going? I’m thinking of doing that next year!
I was just curious, do people at your school know you do TH-cam? Do you tell them or have they found you online?

Omg my centers have been going good but that PowerPoint though .... I can see that doing wonders in my classroom!! Thanks for sharing
I would really love to see your center organization for both literacy and math!!
Thank you for sharing all this with us ! So many good ideas :)
Have you ever considered printing your 5 writing rubrics on post-it instead ?
I go to OTF 6X a week! The best way to end my day after teaching my kindergarteners all day!
Eres una linda profesora 🥰😘
Have you ever thought about making days of the week cards on Velcro so that you do not have to write the days of the week and erase them daily?
Thank you so much for sharing! How did you learn how to do centers?
I honestly didn’t know it was leap day until you mentioned it!
Love your sweater on Wednesday! 🥰
The week before last the teacher and I had someone observe us from the ESC while we were teaching foundations.
you should do a get ready with me video!
Just curious, what is your morning message? What is an example of what you write?
I teach in CT. We used to have a week off in February (maybe some districts still do), but now it's just a long weekend for Presidents Day. 😔
I NEED to know what lipstick you usually use? So pretty!
Just curious, do you know the reasoning behind your district doing week long specials?

I’m a 3rd grade teacher but I love your videos! You have such a sweet and fun personality.
Question-where is your lime green office chair from?
I love working with rotations and I find that my kids do so much better in small group rather than whole group. When you have a sub would you leave the PowerPoint for them or would you not do rotations that day?
Omg!!! Where in MA? I’m on the south shore 🤗🤗

Could you snap a picture of what the desk fairy looks like please.
Hi! Where did you get the vocabulary writing papers from? I would love to use them with my 1st graders!
You are amazing girl!
You might add peer editors name on your check list and make them peer edit their writing. Kudos.
What is your friend that is a kinder teachers name or TH-cam channel?
Do you recommend centers for second and third grade?:)
Yes! I teach 3rd grade and do my stations the same way with the acronym MATH.
Christina Sanchez thank you so much for answering!:) I will do some research to learn how to do those.
Hi! Will you share your writing rubrics with us?!
