- The mobile column! A definite crowd favourite, only when NDP is held in the Padang, we get to see the Mobile column. How cool is that!
A lot of metal was exhibited. Leopard 2SG led the charge. 10 awesome tanks. 120mm main gun. Oh, I was told the Leopard is air conditioned too. The tanks were bought from Germany, and refurbished.
The Hunter Armoured Fighting Vehicle was also unveiled. It had been hailed as the centrepiece of the next generation army. Locally designed and built! Fully digitalised, the Hunter will replace the ageing Ultra M113.
Armed with a 30mm cannon and anti-tank guided missiles, the Hunter features an automatic target detection and tracking system, improving the crew’s ability to detect and engage targets. It is also the Army’s first AFV to be equipped with an integrated combat cockpit, which allows its commander and gunner to both operate the vehicle with a common set of controls.
The anti aircraft Aster missiles were also unveiled.

5.18 to 5.29 featured navy's "smc type 1" looks exact mockup just like the one in NDP 2015. Alas the real actual unit in operation "smc type 2"...not displayed here, is lot more sleek and cool.

The Spyder and Aster 30 are two different missile platforms. Spyder is mid range and the Aster is long range
Leo 2SG slightly outdated tho no hate juz saying it would benefit with an update for e.g. Germany from leo 2a4 to leo 2a5. Oh and the belrex is actually a vehicle called the Maurader based in Africa nice vid by the way

guitar singapore travels Indeed. That’s why I don’t really agree with so many allied countries purchasing F-35. We could’ve purchased F-18 and upgrade them just like our Eagles. We can also purchase European fighters (Gripen/Typhoon) in bulk and fit them with upgraded sensors. Flanker fighters are also great choices, but given our diplomatic ties, unlikely. Either way these options seem more economical then purchasing the Lightnings.
Well we buy what is suitable not the best. Compare with the region and a threat analysis. Leo 2 is fine. Jumping from a Amx 13 to a leo 2 MBT is a quantum leap.
F18s are good but what advantages can it bring when u have the F15? 5th generation is here and nations are working on the 6th gen fighters already. We are being cautious with the F 35 purchase as DM has said that we are in no hurry. Let the problems iron out first
