Great video! I got into arch when you uploaded the video about thinkpads, and I've loved them ever since. Although I already have a fully functional system, I still learned some new things I didn't know.
Fantastic video! I really appreciate the direction in which this channel is headed.
Glad to hear it brother!
This is really well explained and informative, great for someone who just barely got arch up and running :' )
Thanks mate, just installed Arch and was having trouble getting the desktop environment to work and this helped a lot.
Thank you so much for this and all of your arch content! Huge help my friend
I have used paru as aur helper - it has some additional security things, but works essentially like yay. Great video; SUBSCRIBED!!
Bro thanks a lot
You're the best
I love how kind you are when explaining the basic things
I couldn't do it without you
Glad to hear that
Thank you for the guide Mashed !, Very helpful 😃
No worrie brother!
i love ur channel holy
"so yeah, i'm a sudo user"
oh my god, how could you? that's such a brave thing to say, i'm proud of you!
really great video dude dyaamn
Very good video!
I usually don't comment in yt videos! but man, your videos are all educational and what I've been looking for! Go on man!!!
Glad you like them!
Bro those kind of videos are awesome! Thank you so much, I need more vids from guys like you and not 40 year old Sys Admin's.
Glad you enjoyed!
maybe at 10:36 the command:
sudo pacman -S --needed git base-devel
Been searching for this comment
Very good video.
This video is so awesome and great for new-comers but one thing is that nvidia drivers MOSTLY wont work on wayland and sure the driver updates are automatic and easy but to install them you're gonna have to go through a bit of a hassle and there are many ways that you can break your system with if you did not follow a step by step tutorial, I recommend just typing on youtube "how to install arch linux with (your nvidia driver)" if you're a new-comer. And again this is a great video still, I enjoyed it 💫
that dang facecame covered everything up
yes sadly
Milyen kicsi a világ! :)
I always install golf 2000, super macro bros, math 16, word up 2 and picy 0.8 👌
AUR doesn't have nothign checking for virus or nothing of that sort. The recommendation is that any person using it should be able to read the PKBUILD and every user should do it for the package they decide to install. Even yay for example gives you the option to visualize the diff when there is an upgrade of the aur package to make things easy.
There are cases of malicious packages, any person can create one.
Thank you for the insight its truly informative for you to just give an overview of all this os has to offer it really makes me think of what i can do with it but im having an issue right now with an internet adapter and im genuinely not sure how to fix it, i did a manual installation and followed the guide word for word yet its still broken, any help?

Failed to synchronize all databases (unable to lock database)
thanks
what happens when we do overwrite flag?
👊🏻
Bro i cannot login when i log i have login screen again even when i type correct password
Basics, I see. I have been using arch for at least a year now and so far what I learned is that you have to install polkit, fix file associations, usb automounting, and the rest that i forgot. Most of these are easily provided by desktop environments but if you use like bspwm like me then you have to manually install them.
holy fuck you are insufferable
Great video! I'm new to linux and I just started with Linux Mint but want to try Arch. But isn't most shown in this video done with the "installarch" command?
um actually the command is "archinstall" ☝️🤓. And yes, most BASIC setup commands are automatically done with archinstall, BUT you should try and install Arch manually if you have the time. Learning Arch is gonna make your life easier in the future 👍
can u add how to configure audio?
after I installed arch linux, following your tutorial I found with kde, I have never seen this tty thing, wth am i supposed to do?
Press ctrl + alt + f1 or f2 or f3 in sddm (login page)
Please answer me soon, I need my laptop back.
21:21 what do I do to get out from this screen?
:wq
Bruh after installation it will i be happy?
This video is so good, the basement-dwelling 7337 had to face the sunlight to protest it
.xinitrc seems to be completely ignored.. at least for me
Hey, I don't know if you have the time to answer this.
I really want to get into arch, but I don't really know where to start. I don't even know how I get to the point this video starts from. Is there somewhere a Installation guide I can use to get to the point of the beginnning of the video. Hope you answer this XD, would be really helpful.
nevermind I just followed the arch wiki if somebody wants to know
Brother my kde gui is not showing, im still in the terminal after login with user
also the vim .bash_profile part is not working in my vm
TTY: teletype.
Pacman -S archinstall
0:56 - HACKED!!!
Good video
Good information
Sadly, presented by a narcissist that needed to be in front of the computer screen
i didn’t even have the sudo command 😭
What are you talking about ☠️ Did you fail to paste some commands from the Wiki.
@@HksjJkdkd not sure if i missed something but i needed to install the sudo package lol
Teletype
none of the commands work i am using a virtual machine
Have you installed vim? Have you added your user to the wheel group and edited the permissions for wheel group users to have sudo permissions and are you sure you’re running arch? Those are the only things I can think of, gl!
step one install manjaro, which is arch based, kind of but you can turn on aur support in the package manager in its prefs, step 2 install steam done and done, no bloat all the drivers
Did you just say no bloat with manjaro?!
well it is extremely minimal unless you wanna start with a linux command line installer and figure out an arch iso this is de wei young nooblet@@packjackisback
hell naw
hell yes deal with it son@@pabloqp7929
very biased comment, and very wrong aswell. rofl
baby geek insults every boomer and gen x, with his lack of knowledge about typewriters, within the first two minutes.
This was a very hard watch. You clearly have much more to learn before trying to teach others. But then I guess its expected from someone who tinkers with their tiling wm toy desktop all day instead of getting actual work done
okay, say actual criticisms instead of "you need to learn more bro"
@@MashedLinuxjust read the documentation bro lol
and they say Arch users are unbearable twunts! Look how helpful and friendly the community is!
No shade but what is getting actual work done? Most of linux is just people tinkering with scripts, configs, or learning how to program on niche GNU software. Just read the arch wiki and manual if you can’t keep up.
