Thank you very much for the reminder! I had it from time to time when I lived in Japan, but like everything, if you don't use it, you lose it. You two send me running to the kitchen to cook all the time. 思い出さして、どうも有難度うございます!
My dad always said, "If you can't make it or eat it with your hands or hashi, it's not worth eating!" He was kind of joking, but kind of not. Get your hands in there! The weather is getting cold here, so thanks for the miso soup recipe. I usually use instant, but this looks so much better. Yes, do a miso soup vid!
I appreciate these concise recipes because I can easily fit them into my schedule. The miso soup and cabbage both looked very appealing. Thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing on how to make miso soup and cabbage "salad". Your cooking and ideas of making quick meals are great. I would love to see more videos like this. Have a great day!
1 minute cabbage and shio kombu tsukemono. For sure is going to be made a lot. That and hot rice. That’s all my.99 year old parents will want. No need to buy expensive pickles made in Japan!Delicious! Thank you for sharing!
Shinichi and Satoshi, I made a miso broth for my husband on Thurs 26th Sept 2019. It was a pre-birthday celebration, and my miso soup had lots of goodies! ❤💮😘 I put in Kyoto shiitake mushrooms + Wagyu beef + Tofu + julienned cabbage and carrots + wakame seaweed + tofu puffs. I also added soba sauce to the miso soup, 1 tbsp of whisky, a dash of dashi powder + sesame oil + meshed ginger and garlic, salt and pepper + coriander leaves. 😊 And my hubby and sis finished the soup. 😂
This is great! I've had the cabbage pickles, but I've never tried to make them at home before. I did not realize they were ready so quickly! Yes, please do a video about different variations on miso soup. You could even do seasonal ideas for miso soup...maybe there are good ideas for autumn, winter, spring, and summer? Sending good wishes to both of you!
I love your fast-cooking videos! I brought back shio konbu from Japan and highly recommend this recipe! I tried Shinichi-san's way of cooking fried rice, chahan, and it was so easy and yummy!
My family is originally from Burma and we mix salads by hand. And mixing by hand is what all the best cooks do... because: 1. The food and flavors are more evenly distributed 2. you’re less likely to over bruise the ingredients because your hands are more sensitive to the texture of the ingredients than a spoon or other utensil. 3. the warmth by your hands help the flavors blend, kind of like marinating does. 4. Sooo much better for the earth! No single use plastics that don’t biodegrade. 5. It’s fun to play with your food! 😊
I love miso soup...every time i order a Japanese takeaway here i have to have a bowl. But i'd love to know about the miso soup that includes the potato as it's not an ingredient that i would have thought to add in myself. So i'm all for a miso soup video :)
I'm always up, for "crazy concoctions " 😂 We can buy wakame, kombu, nori and many more Japanese ingredients, at every normal supermarket, here in London, but if I want more choice of miso paste, I go to the Japan Centre. I always enjoy seeing you two cooking together, and supervised by the adorable Justin of course. 🐕❤
My mom used to do this with just a bit of salt and a tiny bit of some mild vinegar. I loved it! I usually have cabbage around too. I have got to make this.
I didn't realize how simple the pickled cabbage and miso is to make. I will be ordering the ingredients soon so I can enjoy Oishi meal. Thank you for this fun video! ❤
This is the second time i visit this program. I like the easy healthy cooking of Japan. I prefer when Tabi cooks alone. The other partner is disruptive and talks too much. Tabi is easy, direct, concise and prompt with his cooking. Please, let him cook alone! Thanks for the shop in Amazon, great find, as i buy all from Amazon. Perhaps Tabi can help Amazon Fresh or their online Whole Foods to source more vegetables used in Japanese cooking. Thanks and much success in 2021 !,
Great quick and healthy lunch. You guys seem to be in a fantastic mood today. So happy and considerate of each other! Thanks so much for putting me in a good mood! Take care and Happy New Year!
I thought I was the only one who ate shio kombu out of the package - yum! But I love your quick recipes! I cracked up though when Satoshi used the phrase lomilomi and the cabbage salad looked easy. I’ve never had potato in miso soup! Definitely would love to see different variations on miso soup-please do! Thank you for these recipes!
Even easier way to make the miso soup is to use dashi miso paste. I boil water in a kettle, put a generous tablespoon of the miso paste in a little strainer and use the spoon to push it through and dissolve into the hot water in a bowl. Add a pinch of dried wakame directly into it (no need to pre-hydrate separately), and scallions.
I am so happy to discover your TH-cam channel. I am an Indian and I love Japanese food. I would like to learn more about your food. One request….could you please give me subtitles of your ingredients in English so we can understand and order online. Thank you 🙏🏻

Could Shiokoji be used in place of the shiokonbu? I make dashi stock from scratch every time I need it. It takes very little time for me with the method I was taught. I love miso soup.. wish I loved wakame more than I do
