I love your ride videos. This is the first time I recall hearing about your accident. As someone who has been there and back, I know how special it feels to be back on a bike and doing what you love. I wish you many more years of joy.
Nice RAW, once again. Concerning the feels train: Im also glad you made it after hardcore-hugging a tree, so I can enjoy ur videos :D. Since I rode the 1200GS myself I can feel each corner and what the bike does when I watch the video, seems odd. I wish I could ride there now..
One of the best days riding I’ve ever had this mate. If you remember, I lost the back end on one of those hairpins and was lucky to keep it shiny side up.
I toured Andalusia by GS in May and share your reservations about the grip level of much of the tarmac. Add to that the somewhat dull road feedback provided by the GS and although stunning winding roads, a level of caution had to be observed. This is the second year I have toured Spain on a GS and will be hiring an XR1000 for next years trip!
XR is a better choice if you're about the sporty riding... only downside is the numb hands. If you're going to be putting on a lot of miles but still want sporty riding then the Multistrada or KTM are better options. I generally rent the GS when I'm in Germany, I really like the more laid back style (sometimes) and don't want to be tempted to get too crazy on a rental (which would happen on any of the other models).
I would love to do these roads again on an XR for sure. Although even on the XR I wasn't really satisfied with the feedback I got. I guess my rides with Speed Triple RS, Tuono etc. spoiled me a bit ;)
So if you like the Tuono but are looking for a BMW option then the S1000R is for you... I always sort of wondered why anyone would get the XR over the R (I'd certainly get the R myself if I was a beemer fan... in my case my next bike is likely the Tuono unless Ducati gets their act together and releases a V4 streetfighter).
I was the same, found the majority of road surfaces untrustworthy ... very slippy, my pal actually binned the GSA he was riding 🤦🏻♂️ hire bike too so that cost him some coin . I think Northern Spain is better for surfaces ..... or just hit Germany and Austria where they're perfect 🤟🏽😎
Hey Schaaf! Grüßen aus Niederland! Glad to see you’re still making videos mate, some of the only ones on TH-cam that give that real feeling of riding. Did you ever finish your studies btw?
Very intristing video 📹 wonder what mic you use and where is placed cos the sound is spot on buddy. And by the way for everyone that tries motovlogs i tell you one thing..... To achieve what you did is hard work. Well done fella. Hope to ride with you in one day to do a video together
Really nice video. That's the bike that I'd like to rent for my trip across france and into switzerland. Do you like it for long trips and is it good in the corners even with all those cases in the back?
Can you do a video on a Harley in these types of twisty roads? This would be super interesting, even though you won't be able to the type of cornering you seek!
Hello Schaaf, Thanks for the video! Question: Have you updated your audio settings at all or hardware? I have watched your older videos and I am using the H1 recorder but cannot seem to match the awesome quality you get. Here is a clip I just uploaded for reference th-cam.com/video/VuRCfAjByqw/w-d-xo.html
Never understood why people like this engine, not even after a test ride on a brand spanking new bike... The engine has a kinda annoying nasal tone even with the Akrapovic exhaust, the handlebar has a tendency to vibrate at higher speeds, acceleration is underwhelming when overtaking cars at 80-100kph, little to zero feedback from the suspension and the list goes on. I hope the inline 4 BMWs are better.
Never understood the hype about this bike either, tried both R1200GS and R1200RS 2017, they were boring (RS was more fun), GS was like flying over the road with weird handlebar vibrations, stupid engine movement to the sides and no elasticity (revs related). Liked much better the MultiStrada as road Trail or the Africa Twin as all road Trail.
Well, maybe the bar was too high, I was trying to find a bike to replace my VFR, but the boxer BMW was a total, utter letdown... I found more enjoyment even in a beaten, old SV650.
You don't cut corners despite empty road. Good technique and proper undestanding of savety definitions. Regards.
thanks

thank you very much :)
Beautiful place for a spring-ride! And almost zero traffic. Perfect RAW like always! Thx
the next part will be even better!
Megageil, Schööfl! Freut mich echt riesig wie geschmeidig du gefahren bist trotz der sehr verständlichen Angst!
danke dir!!!

lucky? All skill mate :D
DO THEY HAVE A KIT TO MOVE THE MIRRORS OUT FRONT ATTACHED TO THE WINDSHIELD; AND MUCH EASIER VIEWING !
I don't know

@@StuHNomadBiker Northern Spain would be handier for me. (Dublin) Just an hour and a half ride and ferry sail away. Cheers!

Did you ever finish your studies btw?
thanks. Nope, only bachelor's
Lovely stuff. My dad lives there about 20km from Granada in the Valle De Lecrin. I was also visiting in April. I really must get a bike down there.
yes you have to!! Thanks mate!
Oh...That raw sound
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️only schaaf ❤️😎
Greetings from India🇮🇳❤️
thank you!
Oh my god! Great sound that boxer!
And great job capturing it!
thanks George!
This bike or Husqvarna Norden,
I can not decide. which bike is more fun?
Depends on your definition of fun
Love this ride on my favourite place for riding, Alpujarra rules!
awesome!!
i'd guess ? you can shift as normal even if you have the QS ?
Yes
Very intristing video 📹 wonder what mic you use and where is placed cos the sound is spot on buddy. And by the way for everyone that tries motovlogs i tell you one thing..... To achieve what you did is hard work. Well done fella. Hope to ride with you in one day to do a video together
Cant watch this, just not to spoil this for myself. Once I was there with a car and want to return with my GS.
Thumbs up
understandable! Thanks!
I like the sound...I'd like one of those but I don't have the luxury of multiple bike ownership but I'd love one in my garage.
same here :D
Really nice video. That's the bike that I'd like to rent for my trip across france and into switzerland. Do you like it for long trips and is it good in the corners even with all those cases in the back?
yes absolutely!
Very entertaining thanks :) I pick up my 2018 GS Rallye on Friday. Guessing that's not standard exhaust? Akrapovich? Cheers from Scotland.
thanks! It's stock
Some different tires might give you that extra feedback. Lovely sound to those boxer engines, but the R Nine-T has to be my favourite
I don't think the tires make a big difference! The R-nine T sounds great, yea
Exhaust is akrapovic? Slip on or full system?
stock
I like those big trails vidéos! I saw on Instagram a picture of you riding the Vstrom, Why not a video of it? :D
because that one I was reviewing for my employer. No chance to make a RAW
Can you do a video on a Harley in these types of twisty roads? This would be super interesting, even though you won't be able to the type of cornering you seek!
man I would love to. Never been on a Harley!
What description? D:
the one informing you about my camera setup and the location of the road
Do a review of the new africa twin 👍👍👍👍
He crashed with the new AT...
Looks like the perfect day for a ride :)
it was!!!
I would love to see you ride and comment the new africa twin(well not that new).
I did that last year and almost died.
Hello Schaaf, Thanks for the video!

Here is a clip I just uploaded for reference th-cam.com/video/VuRCfAjByqw/w-d-xo.html
nope, this was filmed with my old setup. It works so well on the GS because the bike offers excellent wind protection for the rider
Original!
sounds great!
agreed!
on the best bike in the world GS !!
Oh wow this circuit would be great if it were one way
;)
Cool..greeting bro
thanks!
Thanks for the video! But i Liked the Triumph better! :)
:)
It sounds so bad compared to the KTM.
Kudos to you for the clear audio
you are downshifting far too much, maybe do some track days, get some tuition
oooooo I will be ignored by a utuber. Now I can not sleep at night
Didn't look like it fit your riding style bro... :)
why?
Looked like it was to big and heavy bro nothing negative...

not the engine, the frame and suspension.

haha, I actually enjoy all the things you're complaining about :D
