Manny had almost seven years in Baltimore while Gunnar has been here only two. Having said that, and knowing that Manny will have 500 home runs and 3000 hits by the time he's done I'd still have to go with Gunnar because he's going to be a force in this game for the next 15 years or so.
Just ask yourself this one question Would Manny ever have given up a cycle to put himself in scoring position for the next batter…. That says EVERYTHING you need to know
really solid point... i played with manny when he was drafted. Spent 1.5 years with him. and never seen him act the way he did in the bigs. so im always partial to him not really being like that. but gunnar is just a really fun guy to watch play and hustle
Fame and money does that to a person - it changes the soul - and unless a person has the tools instilled by family and the faith to keep you on the path - money changes
I'm with most of the commenters in the fact that I would take Gunnar over Manny. You can see it in Gunnar's demeanor that he was just brought up right and is a very humble person. Manny not so much. Gunnar's personality and the way he carries himself is a definite plus for any clubhouse
@PigTownSports I think the triples make that clear. I was just basically saying that even if someone broke Ricky Henderson's record... you'd need an asterisk beside it, because rules are so much different now.
Gunnar for sure.. Reminds me of HOF'rs Robin Yount & Charlie Hustle..If there's a difference in arm strength it's a subtle one.. Love to see him get that avg up around .285/.290..As always, good stuff.. GO O'S BABY
Yah I think his avg plays where it is bc of his power . But I’d love to atleast see it sit .270 . He swings out of his shoes every swing . But it works for him
@PigTownSports to be fair, that's a reflection of modern baseball as a whole... hit a hr or don't... very little effort seems to be put into small ball and gap hitting.
Damn skanks are playing outta their minds.. Gotta get that team avg & ob% up..I remember Buck's team leading the league in hr's but team avg & ob% was bad and wound up losing in the playoffs because they struggled to produce runs without hrs..If he gets that avg up maybe he moves to the 3/4 hole and gets more rbi opportunities..
Machado was phenomenal and I loved his defense and offense. Buck Showalter kept him from being the selfish prick he later became with other teams...for the most part. Gunnar is better on both sides of the ball and is more mature than Manny was. My pick is Gunnar. Just know, Manny was no slouch and I was happy he was on my team.
Am I allowed to say Gunnar Henderson? Just solely based off the fact that he doesn't come across as a selfish prick like Manny always has I'm sorry I have always questioned Manny machado's passion for the game of baseball and there were a lot of plays where he seemingly took the play off in my opinion
Idk if Manny’s problem was lack of a love of the game… but he definitely had a great love for himself and it was obvious. Not to mention Manny is a dirty bird sometimes. I can’t see Gunn-show disrespecting the game that way. Hands down Gunnar
Gunnar hands down is the one to have...and let's not forget, as much as I loved Machado, he was a clubhouse drama queen and Gunnar is very humble IMHO

Henderson all the way
Absolutely love this video!
Thanks !

We know who wins in the "better attitude" category lol
Gunner hands down. The strikeouts and sacrifices come down to coaching. Arguably steals can't be compared with the new rules vs old rules.
True , though Gunnar is faster

And Gunnar is the absolute opposite. Dude may try too hard.
