I certainly agree guys. I should have used the word "often" in my comment. I might have sounded like I mean it's always the case. I have met arrogant ones as well.
I love the way he actually goes in and improves the drawings rather than just talking about what could be improved or changed. It's really nice to see that in an artist who genuinely wants to help others. Great job!
Jono Dry: Draws incredible, hyperrealistic artwork, also Jono: "that's a bad arrow" thank you for doing this Jono, informative and highly beneficial critiques
You show respect for people's drawings, not criticizing them into the ground and making fun of the artist like many other TH-camrs does. I have also learned something from you, and that's respect when it comes to talking about other people's art. Thank you
Exactly...he's doing what we call ACTUAL CRITIQUES....other TH-camrs somehow get to know how to draw some shit...then they will start ROASTING YOUR ARTWORK....which really brings the motive down.......
Thanks a lot for reviewing my artwork here JONO , I feel lucky and blessed that my inspiration reviewed my artwork, thanks for the feedback , will correct myself hereafter . Looking forward to submit more works hereafter , congrats to others as well . Love from india 🇮🇳 ♥
All pieces Jono critiqued are beautiful--thank you to the submitters, and thank you, Jono! What a great learning tool this was. Watching this reminds me how the human eye thinks it sees much more than it does. We subconsciously fill in details where, in reality, shadow obscures. The very reason the chiaroscuro style was so very exciting (and still is, really) is that artists employed shadow with great courage. It lent drama, but also mimicked a profound reality that grabbed the viewer's very core. I so love that. And I feel that same excitement when I see Jono's work.
This could be a series, it's incredible. I really think it's so constructive to add your own actual ideas to other people's drawings. It is so effective at understanding your input. Bravo!
Hi Jono, i've been following you for a while now. You are my inspiration on the artworks that i do, especially when i do conceptual arts. I really love your style. I've learned a lot from you
Loved the way his critique was laid out and got to learn a good few practices. These videos help a looooootttttt when you are an inexperienced artist like me. Thanks a lot!!!!!
Jono, I guarantee you this video is going to be especially popular with your viewers. A critique of aspiring artists by a professional such as yourself is a fantastic idea. Definitely recommend you try to make this at least a semi-regular feature. Well done.
This is so helpful! Not only insightful but so respectful of the artists and their work being critiqued! Thanks for sharing your expertise, Jono! You have such a tender soul!
I know this is a very late comment, but I just want you to know how much of an inspiration you have been to me over my career and also just in my pursuit to better myself as a person and an artist I’m also from South Africa and to see someone not only constantly learning and teaching, but producing such stunning, technical, and emotive pieces from the same country as me has just been a major push in the right direction 💚 I have been following you and watching your work for years now and all I can say is a resounding THANK YOU! for everything that you have done for art, artists and humanity in general because you have made a huge difference 💚
Hey! I'm sorry I didn't use your work this time but I'm glad that you learnt something from the other submissions. Keep submitting! I'm hoping to do a similar video soon!
Critiques can be tricky. I generally get critiques from people with no art experience, which I find to be blunt and it definitely gets me down. The internet is sometimes a horrible place and people love to be rude. Your kindness towards each person's portrait is a breath of fresh air. I love all levels of art progression. And it always blows my mind where people start from. Thank you for this wonderful video. I think I'll submit some of my pieces to your email you provided. 🙃
of all the unlikely places, I've found the internet to be quite supportive. You can try joining different Google groups. In groups you will find people at a wide range of skill levels, and everybody is pretty supportive. I would avoid facebook though. Still, I've never had anyone (on the internet) make a negative comment about my art, which is mediocre at best
I can definitely relate! And they seem to go on like they're tryiiing to find negative things about the piece 😂. But keep your head up and enjoy the passion you have for art, and always strive to improve to satisfy yourself. And enjoy others reactions to your art.
Well, they should do constructive criticism. Don't just say this and that needs to be done. Even if there's one good thing about the piece, highlight that
The world of art needs people like you to motivate next generation of artists. I am huge fan which is why I have sticked to pencil artwork and Hyperrealism
