When I was in kindergarten I still remember around Christmas. Every kid in the class got a present from the school and we had a Christmas party watched how the Grinch stole Christmas and throughout the years did the same thing and every other grade until about 6th grade and when I asked my teachers why we weren’t doing Christmas parties anymore you know what they said to me
Teacher: oh, well you see there are many different kinds of kids who go to school here and their families don’t always celebrate Christmas so we don’t want them to have this kind of party here and not be able to have a party at home(Sorry, that’s the best way I can describe what she said) so I basically said so what you’re telling me is they are not allowed to have fun and experience joy at their home and because of that they’re not allowed to experience fun or any kind of joy at school do you have the chance to show some kids that there is good in the world there’s love and kindness all that good stuff and you refuse to show it because their parents are atheists Here’s an idea if these parents really don’t want their kids to celebrate Christmas with the rest of us then just have them stay home on that day simple now the rest of us get to have our Christmas party and that one kid gets to stay home from school everybody wins.
Predictably the school was like no that’s just not really fair to the other kids so then let them go to the party anyway you’re f*cking idiots!
