    The WI Fi is a good idea so i can watch the car remotely, only downside is im going to have to park in my living room to get a signal..?

      @callummccleary5649 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Yeah, it’s ridiculous. I’d rather they’d just not mention the ‘Live View’ feature. You have to be within 30 foot of the car for it to work. If I’m standing that close to my car, I don’t need a camera to see what’s going on, I could just use my eyes.

    • @Nigel_S452

      @@callummccleary5649 I think it works if the Garmin is connected to Wi Fi, so you can view it remotely.... not many Wi Fi signals available when the car is usually parked in the garage, on a street or car park...seems a waste of time feature to me.

      Nothing crazy with wifi, all high end dash cams have it. Plug in your car a rechargeable hotspot like alcatel with a att or tmobile sim. It will power the wifi while youre away from home. While at home, it connects to home wifi if it has multi wifi option like the blackvue 750x or 900x

    I just bought the 57 - pleased so far. Most of the driver aid features won’t be used by most people. Would be more useful if the camera detector only sounded when approaching over speed. Also regardless of there being a WiFi connection to my on board WiFi the automatic uploads seem to upload only when they want. It would be far more IMPORTANT for incident video to upload automatically immediately. Please can this be altered?

    Have you stopped it over heating in parking mode like the older model mini?

  • @redmesa2975
    @redmesa2975 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Bought the 57 for my semi truck. So far it is a pain in the ass to use. Despite shutting off all the driver assist crap, it still flags events when vehicles come around a curve going the other way.
    You have to create a log in & password just to transfer saved videos to the cell phone. The WiFi has only worked once, can’t get it to pair again for some reason.
    The VIOFO 129 duo pro that died on me was way easier to set up and use. Less expensive too.
    So far, I hate the Garmin. Cheap bastards don’t even include paper instructions.

Do they need two Apps so that they can operate independently? This would help sales and customer relations because as yet, there are no video's to help customers with this and fitters dont seem to know........... I'd choose the mini 2 and 57 mostly because of their additional features compared to its predessors....and spend double money for that.
    Result: completly use less!
    Drive app only works randomly, so doed are all other funktions with it
    Vault upload also
    Wifi connection/setting are deleted without any message or reason
    After some cold weather the accident report comes up at nearly every shifting of the gear lever (something must be damaged by the cold)
    In addition to point nr1 its nearly impossible to delete the unwanted footage.
    Result:
    Waste of money
    Predessesors for only half the money can do the same.

      Edit: just now read that you are referring to extracting videos from camera directly to smartphone. I misread it as can you pull videos directly from the MicroSD card itself, like taking it out and using a card reader.
      Anyway, yes, you can use the Drive app to view videos directly on the camera (must be powered on, of course). Be warned, the videos are large (especially in my case with the 67W where 30 seconds of video equals to about 70 megabytes of storage space). Trimmed and shorter videos (you can trim videos using the app) will take a minute or two, but larger videos will take some time, due to the size of the files.
