Keven, I am brand new subscriber & am a gay man older than a Millennial. You struck a chord when you mentioned your challenging experience with the FL unemployment benefit process. My job was eliminated quite unexpectedly in Nov. 2023. I attempted the unemployment benefits process & didn’t even get successfully through the first part of the process because, like you, I decided it was not an efficient use of my time. I have since retired from the workforce (was fortunate to be in a position to do so) & now volunteer my time with an organization where I can have a positive impact. As another commenter stated, the loss of your last job will prove to be a blessing in disguise & your life is about to get exciting & enjoyable. I look forward to following your adventures. Very interesting. I got forced into retirement and learned, as you did, that I had been foolishly oblivious to the ordeal that people have to endure. It’s a pretty lousy safety net. Try not to take it to heart but learn how much people have to endure and learn. ❤

There is always a tension between security and freedom. The more security you get from the state, the higher the taxes and more decisions are made for you. When there is less security, you have more freedom to use your money your own way and make your own decisions on how you want to live now and plan for the future. Everyone has options and if you want more security you can either plan for it where you live now, or you can move to a state that offers it.

I have a good feeling about this interview route you're adding to your channel. I think you'll ask good questions. And I think with how your brain works, your audience will get interesting conversations.
On the topic of unemployment, I understand. I got fired from my previous job in October of 2023. I have a new job now. But when I went to file for unemployment, there was one spot I was trying to delete info that I didn't need and it just wouldn't let me. But bc of that, I couldn't submit my application for unemployment. So I called the unemployment number and it was near impossible to get a hold of anyone. The lines were always busy. Then I found out that if I wouldn't be able to get an appointment for a month. So what was I supposed to do for a month after my last check runs out. I ended up using my 401k (the very small amount I had in there to get by until I found a new job with an old employer that just happened to have a position open. I lucked out big time with how things ultimately happened. But you're right, the systems in place that people have to rely on sometimes aren't very reliable. Our government gets how many Trillions of dollars and we can't have a working system? It's absolutely ridiculous.

Unemployment insurance is entirely paid for by the employer . You are not entitled to benefits if you were fired for cause. Small states rock . We have income tax, but generally lower property taxes . I go to motor vehicles... we wait 7 seconds .Unemployment. 5 mins money direct deposit 2 days . Need help go to local office . Lovely people will sort it out . Moved to small state ...it's lovely. We can even track absentee mail in ballot online to see if it is accepted
Yes, if you were fired "for cause" you can't get unemployment benefits except in a few very narrow and specific cases.
Getting fired is the worse thing. Always think. One door closed the other is open. You can get better job. Move to Palm Springs Ca. A lot of job available.

Keven you will get hired and be gainfully employed. This is only a season, and things must change as the seasons do. You are taking care of yourself in order to move forward and stay afloat. It is called being creative and thinking smart. They put you through it with the unemployment system. You are right about it as well. I totally understand and feel for you and others who face that challenge. It is hard, but as you said you do not want to become bitter or be the victim. You want to stand and move foward. You will. You are really making a great effort to connect with others. Itwould be nice if You Tube had a better way to connect to others. You are making a way. Take care.

Hi Keven, that is crazy that after paying into get unemployment that you were denied that benefit after your years of working. Glad that you have other sources of income to help you survive.

What a nightmare. No state or government system is run well. Sadly it’s run by employees and staff who have no incentive to do well, most will never be fired for poor performance and get hysterical when change is suggested. Good luck!

Colorado unemployment is also very difficult to get. Luckily I found another job a week after I was let go bc I was already looking for other jobs so I didn’t need unemployment thankfully

Its a basic camera, but you need to start somewhere. Sound is key. I think youll be happy with it. bk

Hey bro.I feel you on the unemployment thing...They did something similar to me....They stated my company denied me because I was fired. I was working with temp agency that kept renewing my assignment and not giving me anymore money...When I asked for a raise they stated my assignment ended and they couldnt tell me why. However unemployment stated they fired me for hanging up on a client. I had to find the emails I was sent. They finally gave it to me...I then reached out to some of my old employers, which once I did...I got several job offers. I'm currently working for one of my old employers on a 1099 so I'm collecting unemployment and working. I'm also planning on relocating back to California and I already have a job lined up there as well. So things have been going great since the last time I commented on your vlogs talks....I also need some advise about investing...I know nothing about day trading but i'm very interested in learning or having someone help me out. Let me know what you think?
Our state of Florida is a "right to work" state. It favors big business & corporations. You learned a valuable lesson. I have been with my company for 33 years but have always had a second path job choice. Just in case. Some people do that with boyfriends / girlfriends. Backup choice. I just always had a "spare" job option.
Unemployment should definitely exist as we will likely all need help at some point in our ~40 year career, but the key is to ALWAYS consistently save a portion of your paycheck and slowly dollar cost average into index funds over time. NEVER day trade btw. Also always always always own your home. Even if you buy a studio condo for your first place, you always want to own. If you wait to buy, the real estate will appreciate much faster than you could possibly save, so you want to get in as soon as possible. I have a multimillion dollar net worth and built it from nothing so just some general tips for people.
Keven, been there, done that. So, now what do you do? Well, let's start with what are you good at? What do you like to do? What gets you excited? Start by listing all ,of you good points on one side of the note pad and all of you're weak points on the opposite side. So now look at everything and make some calls. Go for some Vlogs. Let us know how you're doing.

Florida is one of the worst states for unemployment. The first time I had to file for it was in 1988. They had offices then and it didn't take that long to get ($250/wk then). Then getting laid off for COVID was awful. The website kept crashing because of the whole state being laid off at once...and the max was just $25 more than in 1988!!! In 1988, I could pay rent and live on frugally...in 2020, that wouldn't come close to paying rent alone! Thank God for the federal money, or I would've had to raid my meager 501k. This state doesn't care about it's citizens at all...they just want to cater to the religious zealots MAGA cultists.

The state effing sucks if you need anything from the system. Good luck. Just be grateful you are fully able-bodied and incredibly attractive. God forbid you become severely injured requiring in home health care and have no choice but to navigate the system that doesn't care about any of us I can't speak about any other states in the US because I've always been in Florida but we were sold a bill of goods in the sunshine. I get the subtle message from the system all the time that now that I'm disabled that I'm a nuisance, and I'd be better off dead as far as they are concerned. And even so, I'm still more fortunate than a lot of people with disabilities. At least I still have my mental acuity. I couldn't imagine having a family member with intellectual disability as well in trying to navigate this POS system..

They want you to stop trying. It is to their advantage. They make it very difficult to understand and will find any way to decline your request. If it gets desperate, you can always do onlyfans. You decide the content, the price, and how often you post. You are your own boss. You can generate income and not take up all your time. I am not saying you need to do explicit content, just whatever you are comfortable doing. It is all your choice.

Sorry about the bureaucratic problems you have been facing to get unemployment, but it is unfortunately all too common in interacting with any government agency.
When I retired, it took the federal Office of Personnel Management (OPM) over a year to process my application for my retirement benefits from my federal government employment that I had in the early years of my career. Over that year, I had many problems contacting OPM because they would not answer the phone nor reply to my emails. In the end, I had to file a complaint against the OPM with the Inspector General's office to get the OPM to finally complete the process and start sending me my retirement payments.
You may have thought of this already, but in case you haven't considered it, I've seen other channels structure their interview videos such that they can also be posted as audio only podcasts on other platforms to reach an even wider audience and thereby have the potential for more advertising revenue.

I, on the other hand, I'm still waiting to get a similar job to the well-paying one (with scope for even higher earnings, mind you) I was unfairly dismissed from without lifting a damn finger. With no unemployment benefits or local opportunities in my field of work, I'm quite happy to make a successful career out of unemployment otherwise. The hours are amazing and doing nothing beats being forced to do something else to entertain and/or aggrandize people you don't know or particularly care for, especially if it violates your basic human rights. But I digress...😂 Looking forward to watching you dazzle your guests with effortless charm, witty repartee... and that sultry smoulder, of course. I for one will certainly never be as comfortable in the public eye and will avoid it like gingivitis going forward! 😉

Being autistic has its pluses but employment without accommodations is something to work out when there is a cooperative employer. Sometimes starting your own business works out best but not at all easy to start imho. Video was good.
@@KevenTalks oh you touch your hair, not a big deal at all. I do that but my friends at work would say I would sit at my desk and touch my hair. I researched it. It’s associated as an autistic stim. I researched the issues and it fits. Self-diagnosis came first. Of course, I’m an adult so I discussed it with several medical doctors and psychologists I knew they agreed. I learned many medical doctors don’t know the neurodivergent autistic area because of stereotypes.
