The support you guys have offered me has been amazing. 🙏
After sharing this story of feeling disempowered at the hands of ego-driven people - straight men, in particular - it feels so rewarding to have a community of people saying "I hear you, I relate to you, and I believe in you." Thank you for offering me that compassion and grace. It's been a really bizarre journey to go from getting fired, to literally the exact same week, seeing my TH-cam channel's viewership, subscriber count, and ad revenue skyrocket. Let's see where this takes us!🚀

Keven, trust me, you have so much of your life ahead of you and you are going to be fine buddy. This is a new day and beginning for you. Right now, embrace that uncertainty and turn it into a blank canvas. Sometimes we exit a job at our own volition, and sometimes we are "let go".. RELEASED. That feeling of relief was valid and earned. This was my first time watching you, and I can tell you that you are not too honest. You were just working with a bunch of fakes. You are real. ❤ Best wishes.

I was able to do it so long because the pay was so good. However, if you want to be yourself 100% and say what you want (no matter how tactful) -you’ll probably have to start your own business. So while I fought back and won my job back and then told them where they could shove it! What an absolute coincidence the first & only job I ever was fired from was as an RA from the University of Washington because when I was on patrol, we had to do periodic rounds of room checks from like 9-12, this was on Valentine’s Day (I still remember the very day hahah) a group of residents on were having such a small room party where there was alcohol but I turned a blind eye and the Resident Director found out. Good luck on the job front! I just secured a role and move from Seattle to New Hampshire mid April. You got this. Most entrepreneurs think they’re starting a business, but what they really are doing initially at the very early stage is creating a job for themselves. Some entrepreneurs never graduate from creating a job for themselves and that’s okay. My advice is to assess what your skills are and then figure out how to sell those skills. Either as a product, a service, hourl,y whatever and run ads and sell that service to people who need it. Then figure it out from there.

I've been there before one time with being fired and it one of the worse experiences ever...My manager lied on me and said that I used profanity and obscene language and got away with that...they took her word and she had been there over 15-17 years back in 2014. This woman I thought was my friend and to find out she wasn't and she had been hinting that here and there and I was being naive to the facts. I had a colonoscopy earlier that year and I had no one to go with me because family members said that they could not take off and what little people I thought were friends said the same thing and she said she would take me and bring me back home....All I have to say in that situation is that these folks are not your friends in the workplace, from managers to other co-workers. This person tried to destroy me and thank god I didn't let her do this to me. I do have trust issues because of this woman. I had the hardest times over the years trying to find different jobs because I was at this place 3.5 years and had to maneuver that time on my resume and gap. Yes, I am a minority gay individual and so was she.

Sometimes we can almost get too caught up in thinking rather than sitting back and contemplating, reappraising the direction in which we want to go. I understand the feeling of betrayal especially when you feel like you've been a loyal team player. The best part in your circumstance is that you realized "They're not wrong", but only because you had a different perspective than they did which may have been of help to the company. I've been around 'narcissists' like this who think they better themselves at the expense of others. It's like a kind of entitlement syndrome. I have been fired twice in similar situations. Thankfully I got away from corporate as I found the thread that runs through my life that led me to a vocation for which I had more of an affinity. You're on the right track no doubt, I mean obviously since you're brainstorming and relieved simultaneously. You were just in the wrong place with that job is all. I highly recommend listening to Michael Singer youtube videos. There are hundreds of them so listen to at least three. You will be okay.

Thanks for sharing and being so transparent. I have a similar experience....However I have no net...No parents or no one as a safety net, so it's 10 times scarier bro...I felt the same way about my position and I do feel relieved, being let go.. However it's very scary. I lost my position because I asked for more money. I wasnt being compensated fairly and got let go because I asked for a raise.. 2 weeks later. I got a message that my landlord wants to evict me. I'm in very scary times. I'm a black man, so I can relate to feeling different and coming to the table with a different perspective, and the feeling of not being fully understood. The neighborhood I live is predominantly white and I never felt accepted by my landlord or neighbors. I knew the landlord was just waiting for a reason. I also do enjoy the idea of what can be around the corner. I was not happy with my job or my landlord and I was just surviving as I would put it. However not having a job or a place to lay my head. Is very very scary bro....All the other emotions you talked about i'm experiencing as well. I feel what you are doing is so so healthy. Your transparency is a beautiful thing to watch, and from watching the video I know you value this about yourself as well.

If I may offer some advice - in these moments of uncertainty, our instincts are to panic and freak out - but since it sounds like you need $ asap, I'd recommend using that transparency to your advantage by walking into a place that's usually hiring (a restaurant, bar, shop, etc) and explain that you're happy to learn quickly, start asap, etc. Best of luck to you 🙏

People that work for them in managerial positions are miserable. They see someone like you: bright, energetic and happy and they can't wait to squash it. Misery loves.. uh...DEMANDS company. I stiffled my emotions for years in order to keep a job and I can tell you with absolute certainty that those unresolved emotions cause illness in the body. Get out while you can and work for yourself, even if it means living in a hut for a while. Nothing is worth your health or sanity. I have never been fired but I have been disliked by bosses in the past and made to feel that I was not valued. My biggest piece of advice I can give you is NEVER let anyone make you feel like you are not good at your field of work. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and move on. I've learned that I can be completely not valued at one company and go to a competitor in the exact same job and they love me. Often it's about the people and the culture and not you personally. My current company does not want to hear any of my opinions in terms of how things should change to make the company better and I am VERY opinionated, so I've learned to just shut up and collect the big pay check and focus my passions and efforts where I have more control and more of a voice in my own side hustles and business ventures outside of my corporate job. PS: I LOVE how you treat yourself to these amazing solo trips.

so interesting, thanks for the honesty ! everything you say i can empathize with. seems to me a very subtle form of discrimination of how/what you are - though nothing that could be proven in court. maybe sometimes the people doing the firing don't even realise their bias, and the fact that they're just venting some sort of deep down aggression which they hold for whatever reason. other employees for sure also do stuff that could be questioned, but they get off scot-free because they're perceived as mainstream, and people shut their eyes to that. the other part is about finding and living your purpose in life, for which you got all my support ! if you can fully live and broadcast the the energy that is within you, that of course is best, for you and the universe !

I say take your time and decide. I know for me I wanted a job with a better supervisor, higher salary, and wanted to explore other interest. So, essentially did baby steps. First was getting my second masters degree but in a subject that I was interested in. The second, only apply for jobs that I would actually be interested in regardless if there are aspects that similar to my old one. It took some time about a year or so, but accomplished both new job (yes, higher salary) and will graduate in August! I say you need a good support system and there is nothing wrong with taking chances in life :). Last, do not worry about age, there so many examples of people that are in mid and late careers that take different career paths, start businesses, get degrees etc.

Your a genuine, well spoken and honest person. You communicate rather eloquently. Rejection is protection. Don't take it personally. There is nothing wrong with you. The only problem is the controlling toxic corporate work environment. If the company has serious cash flow issues your ex new boss will probably follow you out the door in the not too distant future if he is not a magician. When things do go south companies always look to the employees first for blame to cut expenses. They have to rationalize the cuts.
This is the time for you to take inventory of all the good service you gave the company. Make a list of all the good qualities you embody. List the skills you feel are marketable. Focus on what your capable of doing and keep that mindset. It's the qualities of life we embody as individuals that make us worthy of good employment opportunities. You are obviously not in denial about your supposed mistakes otherwise you would not have brought them up in this video. That means you learn naturally from your mistakes because you're already looking at them. That's an admirable quality. Those of us that are a little too self conscious learn naturally from our mistakes. Consider that you now have the opportunity to find a better job with a better work environment that is more in alignment with your values. Keep posting content that your intuition tells you to post. Have a constructive, fun, journey into the unknown. I look forward to more of your refreshing honesty.

From my experiences, most firings have to do with personality. Simply put it, someone higher up than you didn't like you for some reason. This person usually goes on a witch hint to find out anything bad about you to justify a termination. Sometimes you are the scapegoat for your boss. Your boss is under pressure and is worried about losing his or her job that they start blaming others for their wrongdoings or them incompetent and want to bite more time. Everytime I was fired, my boss who fired me was always fired shortly after. Keep your head held high and better opportunities will be knocking on your door. Yes. You're right. Being too honest is almost worse than stealing from the company. I tell my employers I can tell you what you want to hear or I can tell you the truth. After I say that, they're quiet for a bit.

At 57, I have been in the exact same position as you for 3 decades of working in professional environments. If I could tell my 25 year old self anything, it would be do not sell out your honesty, beliefs, and moral compass for a paycheck - as Madonna says destiny will choose you in the end. I am quitting my 120K/yr job tomorrow morning which is hard to do in this economy amid layoffs and shrinking job openings but I have no choice. Keven, I wonder if anyone from your office saw your recent video about your lousy, horrible job interview. The minute I saw that video I thought, "If someone at his job sees this, they'll know he already has 2 feet out of the door and will fire him." I'm so sorry it actually happened. Boy, are they dumb! If you go back to school, what will be waiting for you at the end after school is finished? Another unstable corporate job? Yech. You're extremely smart, very personable, extremely -- maybe even hyper- -- attentive / aware, and very sensitive (which you can't be in the corporate world). I am too (I"m an empath like you which is why I can spot it a mile away). Miami, like LA and NY, is a difficult market in that, like the 2 other cities I mentioned, there's a lot of flash over substance (I was an exec in LA for 20 years at a major motion picture studio and I was constantly amazed and astounded that total idiots with almost no skills and little to no education made it to the top of the food chain for no apparent reason). If you want a constant reliable paycheck, then just do what they say. I remember having a grad student when I was an undergrad who thought that Ayatollah Khomeini was the greatest man in history. I had to write a paper for my final grade and spoke to my magical, wonderful grandmother about it. She told me, "Just parrot back whatever it is they want to hear." I protested that I didn't believe what the grad student grading the paper believed. My grandmother said, "Do you want to get an 'A' in that class?" I knew what she was saying and I wrote exactly what the grad student wanted to hear. I got an "A" in that class. Many years later, no one knows what I wrote. The only thing that remains is that *A" grade. A valuable lesson to take with me into the corporate world. "Tell them what they want to hear; keep your opinions to yourself unless you have someone in a high position who really wants the truth; swallow your own truth to achieve advancement and financial security (and then see a psychiatrist at least once a week)." Welcome to corporate America where mediocrity flourishes. 😮😢 On the one hand, you make a somewhat secure paycheck in corporate America. On the other hand, it is soul crushing. You should tell us what it is you do in social media exactly. For example, do you manage and design social media posts for third party commercial companies that have no in-house social media editor / poster? I could use that kind of service. You should let your 5k+ followers know in a bit more detail (but not too much detail) what you do. Perhaps your subscribers who know you and like you can help you. It can't hurt. Maybe you should move to a city that isn't fueled by caffeine, cocaine and (as much) nepotism as NY, LA and Miami. TRY CHICAGO! 😅 On a different subject, more bathtub and shirtless bed vlogs please, you absolutely GORGEOUS man!! 😁 If I was your boyfriend, I'd stare at those unbelievable eyes of ypurs and your yummy hairy chest all day long. ❤❤❤ Keep up the good work and the good fight, Keven!! We're all rooting for you, honey!! 😘🥰❤️

I say follow the money but also do what you have some enjoyment doing. Passion doesn’t always pay the bills but it can supplement things. Quite a few people I worked with have left my employer to take on promotions or get a pay increase. Have you thought about whether you do better at larger / smaller companies? Can be a balancing act between being honest but going with the direction of the org. Maybe work for a place with values that align with yours. Kev, it's been found that gay men are more intelligent than the average crowd. We usually see right through those that are bad at the job that they have. I had a boss who would deny saying something if it didn't work out. He could not be trusted. Another time, I quit a middle management position because I saw the future of this division from bad management, missing delivery dates and broken promises. Six months after I quit, this division closed and everyone was dismissed. I got into home improvement, then finally got work at a medical company in the shipping dept. Was there foe 15 years before I retired. So, Kevin don't go crazy about this job thing. There are plenty of positions out there. A lot of companies are offering training while on the job, so look into them. After a short time, going to college for these companies.

Do not discouraged or upset. When you look back you will be thankful you are no longer at the company. I suspect this was planned as well. You are in a transition period and you will find your footing. It will work out in the end. Thimgs are already working out. You do not see the finish line yet, but you will soon. Stay focused. Without wanting to sound mean or anything, I'm happy this happened, you sound like you were miserable in that place and it got worse with the car delaerhip guy... sometimes we're miserable or unhappy in a job and we feel like we should stay, just for safety. It's your chance to turn the page and find opportunities like maybe be self employed and start being a youtuber manager or something else you'd like. But to me you sound like you really were not your your place in that company. I was in a company before where I ended up feeling miserable too with time as things changed for the worse, it was boring and i was suffering a lot until the day they let me go along with a few others. looking back at it, it's was the best thing that happened to me. For sure, when it heppened I was scared and concerned about money, I had collected unemployment for 4 months, after my grieving was over, I started looking for a new job and boom, an amazing opportunity showed up and i dived into it. I did also noticed that your channel is groing, you're not at 1500 subscribers anymore like you were when i started watching you. You will find something that will make you happy, i'm sure, don't stress and brainstorm a little, ask yourself what would make you happy. You have to follow your heart and your conscience; that's great that you have a conscience because many do not, especially in business. You'll find what works for you and a team of higher ups who appreciate it, who don't want you to be a yes-man robot. It's kinda crazy how our lives run a lil parallel because I'm the same way at this j0b im at now and they also want everyone on the same page, despite so many things not making sense. They would rather everyone smile, put on an acting performance and pretend everything is all right. And my ultimate response is to keep looking for employment that enriches my soul cause I know this current gig is just a bill payer.

Corporate politics did you in. That is why most people get fired. You have to go along or get out. Not getting along with your boss will get you fired every time. Sorry to hear this happened to you, but move on. One door closes and another one opens. Good luck to you!

The universe can really turn your life into a crap show. I still haven't recovered from dropping out of school and quitting my job 8 years ago...I can't stand egomaniacal sleazy people either. If I have to tolerate additional personality bs aside from the actual work then the paycheck needs to reflect that.

Definitely speak your peace for the record. But as you can see from talking to insiders after you were let go, if you’re honorable and competent when have trouble with people like your ex boss, you’re typically not the only one who’s having a problem with that person. And if they are a real problem then they inevitably hang themselves. As I suspect this man will do.
It happened to me at work just two weeks ago. I don’t have a degree, but I went up a steep learning curve running a lab for more than a year because the actual manager had a lot of health problems. When she left this man was hired on and he haaaaated me. And he used to work for the company so he had a lot of credibility. I was supposed to get the lab but instead got shoved aside and functionally demoted. And I thought, “Okay. She’s all yours.” Not bitchy but ya know… I don’t have a degree so there ya go. So about a year later the lab is struggling and barely functional. So I had a long sit down with our project manager and outlined the plans I had for the lab. At one point I heard her gasp.
Next thing ya know… he’s gone.
Oh: and she was new when all this was going on so she just took his word for things. As we would all do in that situation.

Yes. My mindset with this particular situation is that I lost a battle, but I'll likely win the war long-term...relationships are everything and it's been fascinating to me to see all these people come my way since I got fired - both from the company and also just friends, previous co-workers from other companies who found out, you guys (!) etc. That support has been eye-opening.

Listen to your inner voice and follow your passions even if the finances aren't there just to see if it works out. You're still young and will recover from this time of uncertainty and the unknown. As your elder, there will never be a perfect job situation regardless if your self-employed or work for someone else.
When I was 28, I left a good government job due to major stress and relocated to a new city with limited savings. I had real broke moments and got the car repossessed and bad credit followed, but things eventually worked out in the long-term although stressful. Keep in mind there will be highs and lows of good and bad and moments or chapters of instability, but a good support system will also get you through particularly people who are good listeners and have your best interests in mind. I feel more secure when I have good people I can vent to to get me through.
If I get fired any time soon, will do what you did and book a trip to a desirable destination to hit the reset button and reflect and think of the next chapter. And remember, there's always Only Fans or a sugar daddy 😂😂😂😂😂😂 (just kidding). You need a good laugh t temporarily get your mind off of the situation.
      Good luck!

Your new boss was looking to make his mark on the company. You were an easy mark because you didn’t get along with him. You can do better. I don’t know where you live but I’m sure you can find some other work with more congenial people. I don’t know if you are out to your coworkers or not. Don’t be too anxious to give them information that’s none of their business. I would guess you are around 30. You have a gorgeous face. Movie star gorgeous. Keep it up and some day it might keep you going. Good luck in finding a new job. If you aren’t sure what type of work you want just get a temporary job to keep food on the table.

Your mother is 100 % correct. I have been in your shoes and felt I was doing a very good job but wasn't shy about being honest. You will need to decide that it's just a job and not rock the boat. Do a good job, and dont complain to anyone at work. It's obvious they don't want to hear it. Guess what the majority of people you work with fell the same way you do but keep it to themselves! Put on your big boy pants and stop winning. Your very handsome, intelligent but need a little reality check.

So a guy whose parents paid his college education - where he got fired and lost 20K in housing for throwing a kegger decides to fly to a Caribbean resort (after being fired again) to vent on how the corporate world cannot understand how wrong it is for taking his feedback because he, of course, knows everything - well was given everything. If you are always told you are right (snow plow parents?) and you are punished for being too honest it may be some time to have a slice of humble pie.

That's a lot of assumptions. College was a decade ago for me. I've been working full-time since, hence the ability to afford a vacation after I got fired. What exactly are you upset about? This is a video about me trying to process what just happened and how I got here. I don't have all the answers by any means.

I just happened to stop by for the first time. Hi. Okay, first, you look great. Second, make the damn bed. Why? Because you are filming it! That means best foot forward. However, not the end of the world. Third, I’m glad you got what you wanted by being fired. Sounds like the right thing happened considering your bitching about it. Lastly, people in companies don’t want a know-it-alls opinion (not meaning that’s you BTW…I mean anybody). Head down, punch the time clock in and out, go home, repeat…for decades… Your not the only one and you are not alone. Enjoy the vay cay!
