Dear Dušan, thank you for downloading these little jewels by Smetana from which I have some played. I think Smetana's piano works are rather under rated, which is a pity. You are doing a great job promoting it. I love your playing!

Thanks...I appreciate your comment. On one side, I do agree - these names: Smetana, Novák, Fišer, Ištvan etc., they are "unknown" outside Czech rep. ... On the other hand, thanks the God that we have so much "unknown" repertoir. If every one played only Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin..., that would be pretty boring. And also, as we know already from one of my previous videos, with these "well known" names, it can easily happen that people have their own "perfect" interpretation.... fixed so much that they hardly accept any "different" interpretation. (doufám, že chápete, že žertuju :) ). I - somehow - really enjoy the feeling of presenting some fantastic music for the first time. Like sonatas by Luboš Fišer. No surprise that I play those sonatas since my piano teacher was his best friend (or one of)... It's very different from playing Beethoven's sonata which every one heard already 1000 times in their life. Perhaps the good way is to combine both during one concert... Beethoven is a "magnet" - which attracts people, but Fišer can be "same-quality-good-surprise". And often, it is. I played Fišer soooo many times here in Holland (and other countries) and there was no one who would not be completely amazed by that.
