    Only one caveat, speaking as a plant biology minor and fellow crazy plant lady - NPK are the big three, but actually there are over a dozen other essential nutrients for plants. So rather than natural fertilizer materials straight into a plant pot, if you really want to do that you should get a worm bin and get your worms to digest those extra bits from your kitchen into plant-ready nutrient-dense natural fertilizer AKA worm manure. And for everyone else, just buy already made worm castings (it's in the fertilizer or plant soil section of nurseries, looks like dark soil, called black gold for a reason because it's amazing).

    Sad to see so few likes and comments on this video! I get that his tone and mannerisms aren't everyone's cup of tea, but you're here if you're interested in houseplants and this guy treats them like queens and are clearly giving good tips for them! Too bad I'm the type of plant mom that needs tips for cactuses and succulents cos somehow I still manage to ruin them all the time xD he'd probably recommend me plastic plants lol

    I do not have a green muscle. I have mastiffs and 2 hours after dusting because of a dirt backyard and the dogs playing there is a very visible dust layer on everything. I don’t know why your video came up on my TH-cam, but I clicked solely because of the colorful background/clothes and you just seemed to have such an openness. Add a large knowledge base and you’ve got the trifecta - don’t doubt yourself - you’ve got it - go further!!

    4:27 Ficus trees 🌳 probably the question was directed to the tree instead of Fiddle Leaf Fig 🍃
    Ficus trees are moody and do not like to be moved.
    Great advice given for the Fiddle Leaf which applies to the Ficus tree also
    Great video! Super Star Diva! 🌟

      What do you mean by ficus tree? Since a fiddle leaf fig is a type of ficus tree?

    • @serenitycarlos2
      @serenitycarlos2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@morgank3215 yes, Fiddle Leaf Fig is a ficus but less moody than
      Ficus benjamina, commonly known as weeping fig, benjamin fig or ficus tree, and often sold in stores as just ficus.

    Checking back on this 6 months later to see if anyone has said anything but wow there is A LOT of wrong information in this video. I won’t go into every single thing but let me say I laughed out loud @8:56 when they confidently mis-identifies the palm leaf that their app is wrong about. In demonstrating their lack of knowledge as well as how unreliable ID apps are, they both said that leaf was from a traveler’s palm which a simple google search will show you it most definitely is not and looks nothing at all like a traveler’s palm. The leaf in question is most likely from a silver saw palmetto which is a completely different plant entirely. This video is beyond disappointing.

    Some words from an ACTUAL EXPERT, AKA a botanist: 3rd question in and you failed to bust a huge myth, "plant probes" belong in the trash right next to water and ph guages . there were multiple pieces of misinformation on this video including:
    •you should never use neem oil to control an infestation. Its preventative only, percentage of effectiveness is dependent on using the proper type of neem, and it only prevents a small percentage of pests.
    •use of coffee grinds, eggshells etc to fertilize is not only not effective, but can be damaging. these are not natural because they would never be found in a plants natural environment.
    •you should have stressed the absolute importance of acclimating a plant to an environmental it thrives in becore deciding where to put it permanently, and how important it is to not disturb a new plants roots (or a newly repotted plant or recently shocked plant) until its fully acclimated to your home.
    which begs the question: What exactly makes you a plant expert? Agriculture/horticulture/botany degree etc? Asked with zero shade, promise! I'm just so tired of seeing the same garbage information being shared over and over and ive been on a mission to fix this by
    • 1. spreading awareness on facts and busting myths by using science, research, and my EDUCATIONAL experience. And 2. begging major influencers such as yourself to use the platform responsibly and properly educate themselves, fact check everytjimg 10x before posting (and dont use Google to fact check)and if you don't have the time or any idea where to start finding this accredited information, collaborate with ACTUAL experts.
