This is an amazing port. A lot of changes, lighting, post processing, model, textures and etc, You can see the effort put in this game for making it looking well and run good on NS.
I keep saying this lately sadly. But.. I really feel bad yet respect the devs that have to dumb down their games to run on the switch. This videos shows how not only is quality cut. But so is fluidity.
They've definitely made some pretty noticeable cuts to the graphics, but I'm still happy that it's comming to Switch. It's just the perfect platform for this game and downgraded graphics are a billion times better than another friggin "cloud version".
Hmmmm switch is a little rough but passable. My problem with these ports is they charge full price MSRP. I get it. It took a lot of work to get it on a platform that isn't as powerful,... But,..... Everyone has the internet. Even if I didn't have a ps5, it's not hard to find out the differences in price between ps4/5 and switch ports. Switch ports priced higher because of the work and for the "convenience" factor I guess. But man,...... I can't really think of a switch port besides the Witcher3 that was really worth it. Especially with the steam deck. I just wish they'd price it more in line with what the current pricing is for that game. But idk. Maybe they feel justified
Exactly. A slight remaster of Kirbys Return to Dreamland costs a full $60. Barely any work done. While a full modern remake of Destroy All Humans costs $40.
I think you gotta wait till they are both released, then re do this comparison... Because of the development cycle and different announcement windows, it might have changed on both.... Or am i completely clueless and were they announced at the same time?
See game developers. That's how you make a game work on switch. Just downgrade the visuals to work and find a way to make the game run steady at 60 or 30fps. Not like how we are getting the resident evil games in cloud version. Anyway game looks nice on switch and visuals look nice. Ps5 wins easily since its a far stronger console than switch.
@@knuclear200x I guess you are right on that one. But going back to the old days of wii, ps3, Xbox 360, most games that were also available on wii had to be downgrade to work compared to the hd consoles at the time but they looked ok on wii. One example would be black opps 1.
Looks fine to me. They mainly dulled the texture assets and lost AA, which I figured would have been a given since the file size iirc would have been too big to put on a 16gb cart if they did a physical. Game looks beautiful on PC and the other consoles but it was simple enough on appearance that you won't really notice the difference all that much without a side by side. The lower framerate is the only major disappointment here, but the game isn't super demanding in terms of game play so that shouldn't be a real problem as long as it's stable.
It's impressive, and nice, of devs to go through the lengths they have to go through to get games running on the switch. But jesus it looks AWFUL. And it actually looks way better than I expected it would. Nintendo seriously needs to stop cutting corners so hard on their hardware. Not saying it has to be a powerhouse console, but they set the bar way too low. If you talk to devs that do switch ports they all say the same things, for example there's no reason it couldn't have had double the RAM which would have significantly made porting games easier for them. Please strive to do better with the next console, Nintendo
It baffles me that in 2024, Nintendo still cant release a proper system in the graphics department. The only thing more annoying is the people that defend Nintendo. In saying that, the developers did a great job porting this game for the switch.
Not even 60fps?? Sorry but after Luigis Mansion, Kirby F.K. and a lot of Nintendo games, there are no excuses for the low (kinda bad) graphics of this version...... Yes, it has a good gameplay but it feels like a really poor conversion of the original game.
Those games were built with the switch in mind. This game was built for the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC in mind. They were never meant to take the switch into account when building the game. Games built exclusively for the switch do look better because they understand the limitations of the hardware and the game is built around that. So rather unsurprisingly this game does run at 30fps, especially since it's a 2015 ARM chip built for a tablet
Gamecube wins in that since it has the better hardware. PS2 wins if we consider it's larger discs meaning bigger games can fit without any compression or pushing it to 2 discs
