I'm not surprised the NGC was teased in MM. Aonuma loves to give subtile hints about upcoming projects, either in games or in interviews. For example: Majora's Mask on the wall in A Link between Worlds (before MM on 3DS was announced). He also talked about a game where you play as a thief... before Link's Awakening remake was revealed.
They also added a Skyward Sword poster behind a crate in Gerudo Valley, I believe. Although that game was already announced, so it wasn't necessarily much of a tease lol. But yes, Aonuma (or someone on their team) enjoys hiding things haha.

This time, it can't be considered a tease for Sabreman Stampede, as the game was confirmed canceled around 2007 or 2008, and the XBLA version of Banjo-Tooie was released in 2009. 4J Studios did whatever they could to remove any Nintendo references in that version, such as editing the DK doll to look more generic and replacing the Mario namedrop with "That well known Italian", but the Dolphin somehow slipped through alongside the "Banjo-Threeie" joke left intact despite Grunty's line about Banjo-Tooie being removed in the XBLA version of Banjo-Kazooie.
Wait, why would they remove the Banjo Tooie line? That would have still worked fine on Xbox?? And that's interesting that the Dolphin reference slipped through the cracks!
@GameXplain Probably because it was originally a joke, but Banjo-Tooie became a real thing, so the joke doesn't work anymore. Grunty still says, "I'll be back for my revenge!" during the true final scene, which can be interpreted as Grunty's Revenge being the next chapter.
