This video is gonna be my guide for my first training with my first gun, a ar15. Proud to be a recently naturalized American and will soon be joining our Air Force :)
Yessssssss! Working from home this past 6 months has allowed me to dry fire WAY more than I did in the past. Not a substitute for live fire, but I'm so glad you guys are putting out structured content on the subject.
I practice my draw, mag change, and do dry fire practice daily at the end of my exercise routine so I have my heart rate maxed as well and it's definitely improved my shooting.
Crazy that I asked them to this video on instagram and they actually did. Just goes to show their dedication to their fan base and what we want to see. Thank you guys been waiting for this!
For the mantis, I like the green laser version so you can differentiate between the red dot and laser. And it's awesome to show you your height over bore at close range
Dry fire is a huge tool for everyone. That’s why competition shooters do it because it works and are reps that only cost time. And if you own a safe put all live ammo in the safe and lock it then dry fire to avoid a ND
Great video! In my opinion, re-holstering is the most dangerous thing we do on the range. "Looking" the gun into the holster is so important. We should not feel like we have to re-holster quickly without looking. Slowly and deliberately put your gun away. Thanks for the great content!
At first I didn’t realize that I was training or putting in reps or utilizing some technique to become more proficient. I thought I was just playing with my guns lol. But I guess all the dry firing and “playing” with my guns really helped me to get comfortable and familiar with my guns and I built that muscle memory. It actually was really useful because some people I know that own guns aren’t that comfortable with them and aren’t as efficient drawing from a cc holster for example. So just handling and dry firing all the time helps a lot
you know there is a type of Airsoft gun called a GBBR (Gas BlowBack Rifle) and is kinda like between Unit 4 and your normal airsoft aeg, these gas guns use an internal canister within the magazine that upon trigger-pull releases the prefilled bottled gas via a series of valves to propel the bb and generate a blowback, which simulates recoil and cyclically loads the next shot
Exactly. And based on its operating principle, you can use it to train emergency reload, malfunction drill or even change the trigger press. In our country, some of active duty soldiers use GBB to simulate firearms, and do a lot of shooting drill, just Improve ourself.
Just wanted to say, using the term muscle memory is fine. Everyone knows muscles don’t have memory. What we’re doing is creating a repeatable action response to familiar stimuli. A neurological pathway. AKA muscle memory. ☺️
"Bad habits..." yup. I'm guilty of that too. Especially scanning afterwards addressing the "threat". I normally just go to reset after conducting a drill, but for scan for additional threats.
I believe I have said it once before but man especially for how semi sorta newish to the guntuber community you guys are man yer content is top notch love you guys and keep that shit up
A good way to make sure you keep your mind in the task at hand. Is to mute your tv. You can become distracted by what’s going on in the video your watching
I repurposed my AR500 steal armor I bought in like 2015ish into my dryfire target. Probably the best use for it. I also bring out airsoft guns for my non gun friends whenever I bring them out for range days since they can use it for a gun safety refresher I typically put them through that still has "consequences" and very noticeable feedback if they mess up. Ie they ND an airsoft bb
I almost skipped this video because of my experience with the Mantis Blackbeard (three Blackbeard's and 3 months later, I never got it to work for me), but after watching the video in it's entirety, you deserve a like and subscribe. As an experienced shooterI found your information to be highly informative for shooters at all levels. I would have liked to see you cover the benefits of a .22LR conversion bolt. For those who don't have the time or money for classes, I would suggest looking for local competitive shooting events. The lessons learned from competition will great reduce the the learning curve and simultaneously give you the practice that you need to familiarize yourself with your gear. Oh, don't forget the cardio.
Conversion kit or a .22 LR upper. I just got a Nordic upper. I kust jad a mantis blackbeard stop working before the first full charge ran out. They are honoring the replacement, but not happy that am waiting again. .22 LR, airsoft, dryfiring.
Doing the fast draw is good for competition and emergency situations where you need to react quickly, but his motions are very flashy. In a real life altercation, it would be beneficial to practice a discrete draw that won’t draw attention to you.
I love your segment on dryfire safety and practicing the four laws of gun safety. On the part where you're being careful what direction you're dryfiring, what would you say to those who live in a very populated space and every direction you're dryfiring has people living behind those walls? Would you suggest not dryfiring at home?
First and foremost, this is a phenomenal video. If i can say anything, and i know some will disregard me no matter what because my channel has airsoft related content, but slamming the gun back into the holster (especially without looking) is a safety hazard. Ive just seen several instances of rapidly reholstering sometimes a loaded pistol on your videos when finished with a drill. Theres no race to put the gun away. Overall time ends with the last shot fired. Look the pistol back to its home and take a second to make sure the garment or other items havent obstructed the holster. Lots of folks watch your videos, and they should, theyre excellent. But the gun fu reholster is a bad habit overall. No hate, just an observation. Keep up the good stuff!
You guys make terrific content. Thank you so much for the free education that you provide. I hope y’all plan to do a video or series on radio communication, specifically HAM and GMRS, as that is a very confusing and complicated area of prepping that many people struggle with.
Those LMT Unit4 Carbines are absurdly expensive to feed. If it was just 1,000 dollars to buy and then ammunition and magazines were standard firearm prices, it'd be really great, but unfortunately, that thing is priced out of reach for the common man
Amanzing tips, but here im Brazil, we have a great guy, teaching about self defense, and he uses a t-shirt in their targets, because is near a real combat situation... try to do. Tanks a lot from Brazil.
the mantis is totally worth the $200. thats 400 rounds of 556. The mantis gives you an unlimited practice tool. you can practice all manipulations without wasting bullets. after you use it for a bit, lend it to a buddy for a week. everyone gets to practice.
I noticed on your presentation you don’t extend your arms all the way out. You keep a pretty generous break in your elbows. Do you find this to be helpful? I feel like this would not be as good for recoil management compared to full presentation/full extension. I’ve had a plateau in my shooting and trying different things out. Appreciate any feedback.
I would highly recommend Glock airsoft guns for training...it is really nice for weapons handling skills, and drills. The triggers are not 1 to 1 but real close. Also pointing in unsafe directions has no danger, as long as you respect the airsoft gun, as if it's the real steel.
This is pretty sweet. I watch a lot of stuff, I do a ton of dry fire and stuff, but I've never really thought much about it and do think I needed to see this. With the Mantis, is there any way to use it as a boresight? Assuming the laser is somewhat precise, if I had my dot not yet sighted in, I was curious how they interface.
I don’t see the link to the shot timer/discount code. Someone let me know please and thanks. Liked, commented and subscribed and I appreciate the content
biggest question that I think that no one is asking is does mantisX systems store any data and upload it elsehwere? does it report the the data to lawn enforcement and any agencies whose intention is to investigate gather intel for the Big guy in the sky?
What I was thinking was getting a Gas Blow Back Rifle and Pistol and getting Metal BB's for it so when I go to an open range or somewhere that i can use it, It'd be great because it'd be like Im shooting a real gun with the same amount of ammunition I'd respectively have.
@dirtycilillian / all I'd highly recommend that you cant the bottom of your holster outward/away from your favorite appendage aka mushroom when re-holstering an AIWB holster. Also it doesn't hurt to slow down and check there is no jacket/pant/shorts draw string that may catch onto your trigger when returning the gun back to the bucket, especially on a striker fired pistol. Great vid keep up the great content.

Dry firing at Garand Thumb on the tv killed me 😂 well done
Charles is 100% the main character of garand thumb, you are totally right.

Josh: “I had some stuff I wanted to work on” was like a kid asking his Dad to be proud of him and it was adorable 😂😂

I really like your videos. The production, content and humour is spot on.
Much appreciated!
I've owned my Black Beard for almost 2 years. Absolutely love it
It’s awesome that these videos you guys make are for us that feel like we suck and get us to get better love this community

So thankful I found this channel, you guys are the real deal 🙏
I appreciate your down to earth approach and your origin story.
"Bad habits..." yup. I'm guilty of that too. Especially scanning afterwards addressing the "threat". I normally just go to reset after conducting a drill, but for scan for additional threats.
Great training content. Awesome ideas, I am going to use them. Thank you fellow patriot. Keep making videos love em.
The badass turned funny intro format is great 😂😂 y’all’s acting skills are on point too.
that intro was gold! Way too many people do that...
Good rep on holstering a slide locked empty pistol in the intro
😂
I'm 5'10" 240lbs.
I carry a Full Sized Glock 34 with TLR-1 and Reddot.
I carry in a T1C AGIS Elite.

Always the best intros. Goodwork guys!

Ahhhh! First time I’ve seen the “camera move with the slide” effect. That was cool.
These guys are awesome! The videos are always educational AND entertaining!

I’ve never heard of unit 4. That’s so cool
That’s got to be one the the funniest intro’s to a video ever😂
Doing the fast draw is good for competition and emergency situations where you need to react quickly, but his motions are very flashy. In a real life altercation, it would be beneficial to practice a discrete draw that won’t draw attention to you.
"didn't get it" XD that's happened a few times when my buddies and I have gone out to the range! These intros get better and more relatable each video
Nice work on this. A good craftsman may have some nice tools, but it's the work that he does with them that really means something.
These videos are pretty amazing, great work

Great content as always. 🙌🏽
Most inspiring intro I’ve seen to date. Can’t wait to try this new course of fire at the range. 😂
We need more at home training vids. More vids about how to be prepared from your living room essentially.
Very good video. Way to go y’all

Solid advice and that intro was fantastic 🤣
This is a very informative video. More people should know these things. Even though for some it is common sense. I have been dry firing for years.
Idk if it was intentional but the core vision logo 👌 0:22
Ha, that’s rad, wasn’t intentional but I’ll take it. I didn’t even see that😂
@@NicholasJonesCreative thought it was a throw back to joshes time with core. Anyways great work always excited to see your guys videos. 🤙
@@firstimeshooter6590 thanks man, we appreciate it!
Not going to lie, great video. Well done!
Been loving my mantis Blackbeard. It’s so worth especially with laser feedback
Fire intro
I love in the sponsorship shout out, the duplicate wearing multi cam just stares at the camera like “he’s trying please be patient”😂
Could you make a video on best clothes to wear with an appendix holster. Showing different outfits for summer winter spring and fall 🍁 thanks
You guys make terrific content. Thank you so much for the free education that you provide.

15:39 yeah I was surprised when I took my CCW permit class how many people had trouble, one guy completely forgot how to work his feet.
Drew’s face….priceless.
crossman also has GBBR and has an AK and AR version half the cost of the last gun. shoots metal bbs or 4.5 airsoft bbs.
Top tier content
Dime drills are helpful too for practicing trigger squeeze for carbine or pistol.
Helpful overview

Great content!!
Death grip pistol when dry firing.
So easy to get loose grip when not dealing with recoil.
For proof dry fire works i recommend trex arms video on dry fire. Its a fascinating view.
Nice vid! I'll also be dry firing onto Charlie
Check out the DryFire Mag for Glocks, theyre a great training tool.
Great information!
I thought I was the only one that watched flannel daddy videos when I did dry fire drills ❤

Pro tip, there are shot timer apps good for dry fire
Never thought of charlie as the main character, but does bring a different perspective to GT
Off Brand Lucas Botkin lol but still very nice!
I love how his practice on TV character is pointing at Garand Thumb, youtube competition hahahahaha
9:43 looking a little like Lucas Botkin, not that it’s a bad thing lol
Man, I just don't see it hahaha
An issue that I have with my Mantis Blackbeard is that if I hold the trigger it will keep dry firing until I release the trigger.
Fun fact: You can buy suppressors for air rifles and the AFT cant do Jack because they don't regulate them. DonnyFL Suppressors. ❤
Dang bro your shooting Mr. Thumb😢
Keep up the content I love your guys's videos

Im about to get dirty civilian tatted on me 😂 you guys are doing a phenomenal job with these videos
would dry firing be any different if it was done with finger guns?
Same with me. I Know t-rex arms Lucas botkin insperations. LoL😊😮😅
