      @Ivan Strader I disagree - it's all about mindset and scope. On PC, it *can be* great for focusing on theory (especially without some distractions that field training may have), planning and leadership skills. One has to realize the both limitations and advantages of said tools and apply them correctly.
      a shit attitude in the best training environment will still result in sub-part skill attainment.

    • @Skyried
      @Skyried ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Ivan Strader
      You seem to mis-understand the wide variety of people that exist in the world and their hobbies.
      Games and Sims when used in the right setting have plenty of uses - again, when used in the right frame of mind. Programs such as Games to Grunts as well as Sim enabled Exposure therapy also say otherwise.
      I mean - I've served. So I'd say I know a thing or two. There are entire veteran communities out there that use such things as KAT Medical to better iterate TCCC concepts. Like most things, video games *can* be a tool, it entirely depends on how you use it. I shouldn't really have to point out that VBS, the professional; big brother version of Arma is in use with more than 25+ militaries around the world.

    • @Skyried
      @Skyried ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ivan Strader Congrats, no need to be a dick though - and no I mean, KAT Medical; the mod, since Arma is largely a sandbox, and mods are additional tools. You're extrapolating and expecting excessive results beyond the limitations of the tool in this case. No one said, PC games makes anyone a "warrior".
      What I'm saying - is you're over simplifying and over generalizing.
      Limitations exist in all forms. It does in MilSim in the airsoft aspect, as is does in training in all forms. Combat is the most encompassing teacher (but not the most efficient), but that's not always an option for everybody and also introduces some undesirable risks.
      I'm also a rated flight instructor, and I 100% agree with the old adage that the aircraft makes for a terrible classroom - There are certain things that are better/can be taught in a different environment.
      *edit* - Also, Americas Army back in the day had a pretty thorough training for first aid and casualty triage.
      KAT Medical - adds everything from Airway Management (Pneumothorax, tension pneumothorax and Hemopneumothorax), through surgery concepts down to Alpha Factors and a pH system.

    If I even mention Airsoft mil-sim or CQB (which i have) to some of the gun community as a training tool, i generally get negative feedback or just get ignored. Thanks for driving the point home.

    • @burhanettinhasdemir4964
      @burhanettinhasdemir4964 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They got some valid points tho. Airsoft turns concealment into cover (which means if the bb hits a bush or fence you may not get hit at all but same cannot be considered for bullet) and since the projectile velocity is so low (max FPS i have ever seen is 330 for cqb) so you don't hurt anybody in theory.) it cannot get very far. Max distance I know is 30 35 meters... at the finest. What I'm saying is, they are not completely wrong. But since you cannot shoot an alive person with a live round (unless you are Russian, I have seen their confidence drills in a video by Larry Vickers and the guy shoots another guy who wears a plate carrier, with a 9mm FMJ ball round, in the vest.) airsoft makes sense.

    • @hakari5014
      @hakari5014 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@burhanettinhasdemir4964 30-35 meters? I've seen airsoft pistols capable of hitting a man sized target with reasonable accuracy even at 50 meters. And there are some sniper rifles that can hit someone up to a 100 meters, but that's really pushing it. As for the other limitations, then all training systems also have their own issues and turn concealment into cover all the time. It doesn't matter if you use airsoft, simmunitions or MILES, you always have to face boundaries, so it's just "pick your poison" kind of situation. Airsoft is definitely the cheapest and most accessible option and that's why it's so great for training.

    I've been playing airsoft for years and everytime I hit the field I'm reminded that training my body and with my gear does make a difference.
    When I first started, it was just for fun. But I was fat (still am, but everyday getting better) and was getting winded and tired.
    I went to a milsim last year after a ton of training and losing some weight.
    Luckily, it was enough to do pretty good. I still got some heat sickness though.
    It was 94 degrees F out all day and I did not eat properly and drink enough water on the day of.
    I drank tons for the month before, but I did not properly hydrate the day of.
    That taught me a lesson. In combat, you don't just have to manage your gear, you gotta manage your body.
    Also, for any of you new guys trying to get into airsoft, if money isn't a problem and you REALLY want a realistic gun experience get a Gas Blowback Rifle (GBBR). It has a realistic cycling bolt and realistic mag capacity at 30. Be warned though, you can't really use it in the winter cause the gas airsoft guns use doesn't work in cold temps.

      Garand thumb and blue Jean operator are a couple off the top of my head that are both prior military and I believe were both pretty elite that practice with air soft and show the younger crowd battle drills and how to actually fight. They always dominate too in air soft. But they both have videos. You can also set up your air soft rifle just the same as your battle rifle and in some cases the company that makes your favorite rifle also makes a copy for airsoft. If anything guys use airsoft for this. Use it for putting miles on gear. Testing your gear in the field. Find out that something doesn’t work for you like you thought it did. Test out that new holster and assault pack or weapon mounted light so on and so forth. It’s really great for that

      I have done one day events with an armor steel shield to see how practical it might be with all the usual equipment and, yes, the weight does add up if you're trying to run around all day. Although, I would never really find out how to adapt with something weird like that unless I got really expensive training, which would be ideal if I had the time and money, but it sure beats finding out the hard way.
      I know airsoft doesn't need real ballistic sheilds and plates but it's important to know the limitations of your gear and how to work around it. For example, a handheld sheild might be useful for a quick response around home if a plate carrier cannot be put on quick enough or to hand off to family to barricade a doorway or if you respond to an urban business in places that do not allow open carry firearms. Or maybe I'm just retarded and spent too much for an armored doorstop lol

So I go to home page and the first thing that catches my eye, "What is Dirty Civilian".. Watched it and now just started Mil-Sim.. I'm 52 and have to say so far I'm am incredibly inspired and intrigued. Aside from my day job, I have been paying close attention from as many different perspectives what's going on in politics, culture, foreign, domestic policy and events. I've been doing this since shortly after 911. My first passion was of course re-learning some history to try and figure out how the US ended up being attacked on the day. I was less than one hundred miles as the crow flies from ground zero, Stuck on an Island at work when the planes hit the buildings. Second was becoming a legacy media watchdog and learning more about the history of the legacy media, Because something felt off how everything was being covered. Also knowing that a Country and a People can only survive and live free and prosperous if they're informed properly. It's been an incredibly surreal twenty plus years to say the least. Throughout that time the bulk of my time has been building up my network of independent media/journalists, trying to find those representatives that seem to see what's happening to this amazing country and are working to try and save it. Trying to spread the message and get others to take notice and an interest. To encourage others to please break from the traditional propaganda outlets and dig deeper to get closer tot the truth of what's going on. Anyone that's also tried this probably can attest that it can be a very lonely place breaking from the mainstream culture and not just accepting the usual authorities. So far what you guys are doing at DC is spot on. I dig your commitment and passion for Truth, The scriptures and our Lord Jesus Christ, The fact that you encourage men to constantly THINK. Not just to take a trip to an event and go hot once you've arrived. You go hot the minute you decided to go and approach it as a mission. First thing I thought was instead of finding the quickest root to the event, Treat it as an occupation and that the main roads would be watched and to instead navigate through back roads off the beaten path. Use old school navigation. I live in New England in a small town on a family homestead passed down from my grandfather to his kids where we all have homes spread out on a combined 25 acres. Blessed to be raised around do it yourself men and women, To have chosen a life of working as many trades as I can rather than choosing one career, That the care of Family, Friends, Community, Country and our planet is paramount and that there is no higher purpose than service to others. Service not Slavery. I am older but am in total support so far of what you are doing and am going to pay close attention and share what you have to offer. My brother and I have been on each other to get back out in the woods and I want to start sharing learning more and sharing survival skills with my 12 year old daughter. I don't want to sound demeaning but It's sad to witness just how incapable todays young men have become, At least from what I've witnessed around where I live and those that have come and gone in my field of work in the Tree Service Industry. Time to put some time in money into the FJ getting it back up to snuff and start selecting gear in preparation. I have a lot of gear and experience in outdoor survival but not from the military tactical perspective. Probably not going to get too far in modern warfare with a lever action 30 30.. Keep up the great work, Thanks for taking a stand and God Bless..

    Now THATS some serious stuff, I'M really glad you made it clear and official on your chanell for everyone, I spent 18 years on my Airsoft hobby, and always said to my friends, if i have oportunity to train using airsoft replica, it should replicate training with a real firearm. it makes no harm to anyone, only adds adidional knowledge in case IF. Navigation, Communication, Survival, Hunting, Shooting, Tactics and overall prep stuff, should be learned by much more ppl, especially right now. Better be prepared at minimum to what may come and it never comes, than be bare naked and got wiped out bcos you wasn't prepared... Great Video! thanks!

    This is amazing yet again! I hear yall mention COD or Warzone close to the end, and on the subject of training, if yall have not tried it, pick up a quest 2 vr, buy Onward and Ghost of Tabor. They can help engrain that movement, communication, planning and other things far better than say COD and the immersion is second to none in the gaming world. I know it sounds crazy but seriously give it a try. Alot of real world training translates well to those titles and as i said it can help get those reps and engrain the movements like clearing a room or even just comms. Watched through most your vids in the last couple days! Moment of silence for Nicholas Jones

    As someone who's done airsoft and milsim for about 18 years now... I personally can say it has helped withing my current career as well. I learned fantastic communication skills, navigation, how to appropriately use coms, firing while moving in multi directional fassets, how to safely pie corners and how to safely breach windows, doors and doors. I also learned how to identify cornerfed and center fed rooms, I learned situational awareness, and also how to combat tunnel vision. Not to mention the fitness it helped me maintain. The sport is worth it

    New to the channel, and massively impressed so far. Commenting today as im a UK based airsofter, with over 20 years playing, 16 of those attending games that are more milsim based.
    We're very lucky that we have access to MOD OBUA ( operrations in built up areas) facilities, which adds that extra level of realism. Events run 24 -36 hours, and depending on your choice of sides depends on the facilities youll have in game. As a die hard OPFOR player we dont have the luxuries of electricity and running water the oppo have, so, as youve mentioned.more forward planning comes into play before the event starts.
    With some events theres also an element of roleplay involved, interaction with civ pop and task force players.
    I could go on for hours as to the ins and outs of the events, but instead ill share a video from a recent event, which gives a good look into the shennanigans we get up to.
    Keep up the great work, guys, look forward to seeing the channel grow.

    Having a Gas-Blowback Rifle helps…
    Their not cheap but they do add some snappy mechanical experience as well as enough recoil to transition over to a real firearm.
    If you own blank firearms, some Mil-sims allow it. You can setup your own scenario with Simunition rounds, have a big group of buddies or family members to train against will help also.

    In the military, we trained flaged weapons in a glass room ( tape on the floor ) till we couldn't get it wrong, then moved to an empty room, then empty house, blankbad guy in empty room, house, furniture in room, house, bad guy with furniture in room, house and months later a live shoot house. Number 1 man is never wrong on entry ( path of least resistance). The slow is quick fast is dead. Remember you have the rest of your life to clear that house. And we did use green gas training weapons sometimes. And it takes 1000 repetitions for your body to start to understand the movement. It takes millions to make muscle memory. And I definitely agree train as you fight.

  • @UnboundSpirit2

    Airsoft is a very fun hobby, it quickly became a gateway to real steel shooting and preparedness for me. All the cringe aside it is an excellent training tool... everything is a learning experience in these milsims, most people won't admit it but it really comes down to the mindset. You can run around with an HPA or AEG and just sling plastic all day for fun... but for the concerned citizen it can easily become viable option for force-on-force training, moving under fire, small unit tactics, CQB, sustainment, comms and so much more. Most of which is just the flat range training but wayy more enhanced and dynamic.
    There are plenty of videos from MSW or the huge european games where they have technicals and large camping excursions. When you're in the big AO's you really start to learn about sustainment and whether your kit is sorted. Food, hydration, extra batteries, sleeping bags, toiletries, extra clothes, bb's and gas, all of this becomes a huge factor to consider and is very transferrable to other activities like hiking and camping.. I always imagine the 24hr+ milsims as an awesome camping trip with guns. Keeps me positive about the whole thing and I know I can learn a lot when I'm out there either alone or with my team.
    The biggest limiting factor in airsoft... are the guns themselves. In simplest terms, you are a grown dude playing dress up and shooting toy guns at eachother. If you can understand that and still move forward using the mindset of being a 'dirty civilian' and realize the training value it has, you will go a long way... That's why airsoft is an excellent tool for CQB training, they wont hit shit at range but for room clearing, interior movement, breaching, pieing you name it, airsoft can provide that. Obviously the caveats are cover/concealment and bullet penetration, but at the same time you are shooting a 6mm projectile so the notion of aim small, miss small in a CQB environment definitely applies.

    I absolutely love the amount of training you and your team are doing. The amount of skill it takes to do what you ask are doing, is not easy, so, good on you all. But I will tell you something ,that most don't think of. Psychological. As a combat vet,I will tell you that that, is gonna hurt more people, then people think. While you can't train for 100%, you must train you brain for the things you will see and be called to do. Sign up for a SERE school. Go out in the woods and hunt. Ride along with a local ambulance company or fire department or a local law enforcement. The amount of things you will see and do, in a shtf evolution, well, let's just say, I hope it doesn't come to it. Keep it up guys, keep adding to your toolbox.

    You guys are clearly on my level with the use of mil-sim and motorcycling to prepare for the worst. While I haven't been to any airsoft events, I have been to some large paintball events, including mag-fed only. I also play Squad and Arma 3 a lot with a curved ultra-wide monitor and, for Arma 3, a TrackIR motion-tracking controller. That's how I've been getting any combat experience for the last 4 years. It cost a pretty penny in the short run but it has saved me a lot of money over the last several years. I've been getting an itch for some physical shootouts lately though.
