Hemduallah....just happened to be scrolling through some R and B songs from the past and found it....All praises be....my wife passed away 7 years ago on her bday....9/07..... afterwards I attempted suicide twice....I was in a psychiciatric facility on a 90 day stay when this song came on the radio....the next day I had an ephinanny.....those thoughts were gone.....haven't returned since....all glory be to God....but in my heart....some glory goes to Denice Williams for making this song....at THAT time...for ME!!!!❤❤❤❤

This one of the best R&B songs recorded ever I think. Deniece and her backup singers were amazing and this was one of our favorite records while in college. Hard to believe that she and the Royalettes didn't go farther than they did with this same song in 1965. They were perfect! Thank you Deniece!

All Glory and Honor to God Almighty, this song of praise reminds me of way my Savior redeemed me and set me free from my addiction to drugs crack &. cocaine I went to detox, concealing all things nothing worked until my boyfriend now husband made me go with him to a Christian temple cause my family thought I would be dead soon if I didn’t stop. I went from 130 lbs to 99 lbs and I remembered my brothers testimony and I actually talked to Jesus and I did admit that I always new about The Father, Son, & Holy Spirit but just knowing wasn’t enough I had to accept Him as my Personal Savior, my LORD and King . The brothers and sisters of the church all we’re praying for me and the pastor invited me to accept Jesus. I did , one thing I couldn’t be more than a day without drugs. That evening when I went to sleep I had a dream that I saw a hand taking a gold key out of the water 💦 the morning after I woke up with so much fear and panic thinking that I would try to get drugs but Jesus poured His Holy Spirit over me and I didn’t want or need to get hi . I do admit when I take my eyes of the Lord I have fallen. But all Glory and Praise to God He did have me in His hands and would shake me off and stand me up. Hallelujah I’ve been saved for 33 yrs. I have so many wonderful testimonies of all of my trails and victories but I’m not on drugs and I’m still walking with my Savior Jesus is my All and All. Still married even that they gave us a year to stay together but what man says is not what God says . There’s so much more I would love to testify but this was just the beginning. Knowing about Jesus is not the same as becoming a servant of the Almighty God and talking to Him about everything and learning how to do things His way not my way.
He is Truth ,Love, and very Merciful “. All you got to do is call upon Him, He will not let you down.

I’ve been listening to Denise Williams beautiful voice since her background vocals on some of those Stevie Wonder songs from the 70’s. Her amazing voice is unmistakable her’s. And as a young man in the 80’s her songs “It’s gonna take a miracle”, “ Black Butterfly”, “Silly”, just to name a few was some of my favorites. That era of music is just so special. I feel so blessed to have experienced those classic in real time. Luv U Neicy.

The first time I heard this, I was in 4th grade. I remember having a reading teacher that loved this song as I did...she would sing it to herself while grading our tests. One of my best memories was her asking me how in the world does this little white boy know about this song♥️ I was like Ms. Johnson this is my favorite song on the radio. We bonded after that and talked about all the music we loved. She turned me on to Patti Labelle, Dionne Warwick , Teddy Pendergass, Isaac Hayes, and Phyllis Hyman. I’m sure she’s left this world by now, but I can’t wait to see her in the afterlife. She’s getting a huge hug and a thank you for teaching me not only reading but the greatness of a song.
