Hi from Providence, RI, relationships take humility, trust, the ability to communicate feelings NOT thoughts, unconditional forgiveness and a complete lack of keeping score via a resentment list, true love is difficult because there are two types in the world: givers and takers, anything outside of two givers, it's destined to fail, today, so many people have mental health issues they never address and carry their baggage into relationships, somewhere along the line, the team, two friends, simply implode and it's sad but it's indicative of larger issues, remember: you are not here to make anyone happy, nor are people here to make you happy...that's not reality

I was 17 in 1975 listening to Ms. Williams in small town Kentucky. Incredible memory.
LOVED hearing this on POSE!!! One of the most underrated shows on TV! Their use of music is perfection and they are telling stories never told before!!! Using this beautiful song to help tell the story was just so well done!!!
Was just reminded of it from the ending scene in S3,Ep4.
I was born in 1977. Kid in 80’s. Teen in 90’s The musical playlist I grew up with was epic and I can’t see it being matched!

She was a genius song songwriter ... many of her songs are very dark, but you would never know it by how she delivers them. She is truly unsung.
MelodyMaker151 ok was she already in a relationship.... Trying to break up with someone..
That's what it sounds like.. Also maybe a one night stand.
MelodyMaker151 ol SKOOL
it sounds like an on going relationship she was having with someone who she wasn't all the way committed to maybe because of her career. So she's saying let's not waste ecstasy cause I'm only hear for a while. But she truly loves him she just needs her freedom. Its not just she has to but she wants to be free. It's a really cold song when you take in the lyrics.
He didn't write this song. She and Susaye Greene did along with two other writers. And many of the other songs, like Silly, she wrote too.
After reading these comments. I'm here. It's 6/12/24. This is real music.

Fantastic song. Denise Williams sweet, sensual voice, without convoluted vocal gymnastics, backed by great instrumentals and background singing
A masterpiece
