What an incredible home, and what a beautiful way of telling her story.
This is a masterpiece of a short film about her life, about life. The way she can talk about emotions, about her past and present, about her self. Such depth and essence.
And the house itself, an amazing, beautiful canvas for a life so beautifully painted.
Seems we are forever strangers on this earth we call home and making it our home requires true talent and heart. And a lucid mind to picture it all and manifest it.

I adore her style, from the household decor, murals, furniture, and kitchen items to the olive trees and Italian Cypress. I love architectural 'museum look' items mixed with bold primary colors. It all goes so well with the Spanish-style homes here in Southern California.

You said exactly what I have felt for along time. I tell family members that I was "Italian" in another life but have yet to visit Italy. I watch lots of Italian TH-camrs living in Italy and I find myself admiring the videos. Two years ago my co-workers and I were planning a vacation to Italy but then covid hit and we didn't go. I admire your home very much and saddened to hear of the loss of your husband. Wishing you many more years in your home enjoying everything you love. ~Blessings~

Beautiful. I loved Camilla Guiness' words about not being Italian but appreciating Italian lifestyle. In the times when people think they can identify as whatever they imagine and everybody else must adhere to their vision, this sounded very respectful for another culture.

Italy is my favourite country after England my dear. So don't feel unfortunately for being from such amazing land. My children are English and I always tell them to be proud of being half half.
We visit Italy 2-3 times a year and we just returned from Toscany three weeks ago. It's was marvelous! My best friends here in MC where we live at the moment are Italian. They are happy people and very sharing!
Prayers to you. May you live in peace without your husband and have joy. The home you both built is lovely.
Heart breaking, and a beautiful home in a beautiful place. This touches the question many of us have, of "where do I belong".
I have had many temporary homes, and have made myself feel more or less at home in them.
Realising, even in our current home, that all things are temporal.
My ultimate home , and hope, is with Jesus - and that's the one I most look forward to, because it won't be temporary.

Sadly I am very English. Nothing to be sad about! There is something so magical about the English spirit. I lived in England for one year and did not understand it until after I left. The English spirit is beautiful. Look at your house. That is English at its finest expressed in Italian.

…shall I say “idyllic life”.
You told your story beautifully.
For me “pretending” my life is something it isn’t creates a lil spot of comfort or happiness. Searching for “a something” is always a disappointment, so day dreaming or pretending is, in reality the best way to experience your desires. That “longing” is in the journey and there to continually pull us through our life’s path.
Pretending is always more fun. Drink in the Italian culture and it’s peoples hearts, you are living in the place where your heart and soul wants to be so perhaps innately you are Italian after all! YOU are YOU where you were born is only geographical . I’m very very sorry your husband is gone. But he is all around you in everything you two created together. Celebrate in joy your lifetime together and be open to change and renewal.
