    I apologize that it took so long to share this video. I noticed after uploading the video on cleansers and conditioners that the quality was low and so I wanted to redo this video but since I have not had time and won't have time soon I am just uploading this one. Sorry if you are watching on a large screen it will not look great. The information is more important than how I look anyhow. Love - Stephanie

    Thank you so much for this! I have tried many of Deva Curl’s styling products and they have been hit or miss for me but now I understand why. All of their stylers that I’ve tried (I haven’t tried Wave Maker) except for the Frizz Free Volumizing Foam take away the volume in my hair, which has been very frustrating since I do like the way my hair feels with them and the fact that they don’t seem to dry my hair out or compromise it’s health. When I tried the Frizz Free Foam I loved the volume I had, but there wasn’t enough hold, but now I know to try it on slightly damp hair instead of soaking wet hair. Please keep doing what you’re doing because you are the only person who has ever perfectly described the characteristics of my very high porosity curly hair and why it behaves the way that it does. Your information, advice and product recommendations have been the only thing that have helped me understand and start to enjoy my hair out of years of misinformation and untold amounts of money wasted on products that never worked. You are amazing and thank you for all that you do!

    Can we talk about that shirt, though?!! I LOVE the curl ninja icon/logo! That is soooo perfect. Whoever designed that did an amazing job, I simply adore it! I don't use Instagram or most other social media sites so I don't know if this shirt was talked about, if it's for sale, if it's Steph's new logo, if it's solely for her book, work, etc or anything... so forgive me if I'm late to the conversation and don't know what everyone else might know.
    Major props to whoever designed that, I'm in love!

    This channel is actually the onliest channel that actually helped me figure out my porosity. All the little quizzes, groups, forums...nope.
    I’m glad I found this channel.
    Now that I know what I should be looking for, I can be a better judge of what works. Other channels suggest oils for NHP. If it works? Ok. But ultimately? Thanks. Now I notice weight...when I don’t need weight. Hold for the definition is what I’m looking for. While being still moisturized.

    I tried Wavemaker for the first time recently using it like I would another curl cream - raking it into the hair wet - and found I didn't like the gritty texture it gave my hair. BUT I just discovered it you rub a little between your hands and gently rub it into the roots of your hair after it's dry it gives some great volume! Also a great way to fluff up day two or three hair a little. Definitely going to be using it that way from now on.

    I’m glad you talked about glycerin. I believe I have a problem using glycerin when it’s humid. That’s why I gave up on Deva Curl products but didn’t realize the Wave Maker didn’t have glycerin in it. Thanks for pointing that out.
    What’s your experience with cleansers and conditioners that have glycerin but are fully washed out? Thanks!

    • @mj-kawai
      @mj-kawai 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me too, I cannot use glycerin on high humidy weather. I separeted my products and only use the ones with glycerin on dry weather. Personally, the glycerin on shampoos doesn't bother me. (I hope this is helpful)...

    • @AsheCatsup

      Aloe does something quite similar to these others-
      I’ve been hard-pressed fo find stuff that works through all seasons. I live in middle of the midwest.Glycerin, PG and aloe.In my stylers? Nope. Shampoo and and conditioner? Ok. :)

    • @mj-kawai
      @mj-kawai 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Susan Saine It depends on each hair/person . I personally my hair doesn't like glycerin, but loves aloé, for example. Knowing our hair we can avoid ingredients that don't work for us. It's quite personal.

    Yes!!!! Thank you for this. I was getting bogged down and felt shamed because I wasn’t “researching” the ingredients. I went with what worked. The only things I look for now are the sulfate free, silicone free and where glycerin falls in the ingredient list. I’m a Spanish teacher.... I don’t do science for a reason. Lol

    Hey Stephanie!🤗 I really like using the foam. I do have wave maker but I'm still trying to figure it out on my damp/wet hair, I do love it on my dry hair because it helps tame some of the frizz that I don't want. I totally love volume and not so much clumping so I don't use any of the DC gels or creams. I do like using Beautiful Mess, very versatile product. Thank you for this video, and, your hair looks awesome!😘

    • @cdevida
      @cdevida 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your post... I need more volume, so maybe I'll try not using the gels & cremes and just the foam like you. What do you like about Beautiful Mess? I've never used it.

    • @darhendricks
      @darhendricks 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cdevida I like to melt the Beautiful Mess by rubbing it in my hands, just a small amount, and the shake my roots. Then I lightly scrunch the rest into my hair. When I do this it creates a more "wild" look.

    Hi beautiful Stephanie. I am loving your channel & Ig ty so much for all your extremely helpful advice and tutorials. I'm in CA and wished I lived near you. I would love to come to your salon! Since you are in a humid area, I have a question for you. I will be going to Hawaii in 4 weeks. what products do u recommend I take with me? I have highlights, have curly & tends to frizz easily especially after the highlights which I am dying back to dark brown. ty I hope to hear back soon :)

    Hi! I know you’re not a fan of store products; however I do want to know your opinion on Kinky Curly Knot Today and Curling Custurd. I don’t think they were always store products. I’m not sure 😬!
    Another question I have is about Henna and Cassia. How do you feel about using them? Thanks!

  • @Simplylockd
    @Simplylockd 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve used super stretch for a twist out & it was perfect 👌🏽 definition, softness, & lasted 5 days before “I” was tired of it 😁 Only thing, I find I don’t shine alone with DC products, so I apply a light weight oil before the SS to get shine.

  • @funluvnrm
    @funluvnrm 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you DEEPLY for taking your tImE to do the DC vids. I believe Glycerin is wonderful, but I believe it helps with moisture & definition, but is not good in hot humid weather "IF" a person does not like fRiZz, but each to their own, of course, wink... I will be watching the DC vids like this 1, to see what I believe would work best for my healthier hair (FiNaLlY & YAY)... But do I still need to do a weekly masque/mask or do this 1 X a month? Actually I should not bother you about this & "try" to stay focused"/in tuned with my own hair needs, wink... I think I will do a mask 2 X a month to start off, then go from there, smiles... Stephanie, lovin this video & I think that I need to take some products back & trade for what I hope is correct with these products. I think would be best is the "One Condition Delight" "Styling Cream" as I was blessed with the super cream etc.for my birthday which I'm not caring for this in my hair. Also thinking to trade in my " B'Leave-in" for the "Ultra Defining Gel", in hopes this has strong enough hold & IF it's to strong, then I'll add it with the styling gel & or add warm water in my hands, then i'll warm up in hands then section onto my hair. I will be keeping my DC Low-Poo, as I love, so I hope this covers the shampoo, conditioner, styling product & Gel & I also was blessed with the "Build Up Buster", in hopes to get out the yellow in my silverish hair, but for some reason the yellow wants to stay there & I want my silverish hair, NOT yellow, anyone have any suggestions please? Hmm, what about the "Purple shampoo", has anyone had good luck with getting ALL the yellow out please? Or maybe I should try the "Build Up Buster" a couple more times & see, but I will keep this 1, just in case I get build up... Loves, hugs always & be/become all you can be in positive ways...

    Thank you so much for this video❤ Stephanie my hair doesn't do too well with protein ..as we all know devacurl is known to have too much protein. Which styler do you recommend that it's protein free?

    • @mj-kawai
      @mj-kawai 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a video about that, and and if I'm not wrong, Stephanie said the quantity of protein in stylers and conditioners is not enough to have a negative or positive impact. It is irrelevant. The exception would be, of course, protein treatments - those have a high concentrations. 💕
