Audio doesn't do it justice yeah, but the sound bouncing off the walls behind that building gives a good idea of how deep and meaty it sounds. Nice job man!
I should have just “Done it.” I got the bike (think I mentioned that elsewhere). But I went stupid and got an Alrapovic instead of the Yoshimura. And have been disappointed. I think it actually made it quieter, although it cleaned up the buzzy sound when winding it out. So, after re-viewing several of your videos with the Yosh, and install, I ordered the Alpha slip-on this evening. I shoulda just gone with your advice to start with. Sad to see the video that it’s time to sell your SV.
I’m pretty sure everything did not “smooth itself out”, I’m pretty sure after a few days you just got used to the change and didn’t notice a problem. I would still get it tuned properly with the fuel.
These bikes have o2 sensors that compensate for minor changes in air fuel mixture. I ride everyday so I can tell you that it definitely did get better over time. If it needed a tune the bike would idle rough and not ride well at all. But I’m not here to argue just tell you what I noticed during my experience with the exhaust.
Bike looks so good in that colour with those decals. You keep it pristine, whoever buys that bike after you will get a peach. I’ve been offered an ex demo 19 plate but it’s the grey with red trellis and wheels and I can’t bring myself to commit to spending on a bike I’ll be riding for 3 years when I’m not loving the colour
I have the same bike, with a Delkevic 350mm oval silencer. First time a good friend tried it out, i heard him riding away and said out loud "Wtf, it sounds insane", haha
Same bike, same exhaust (Signature) and over the past few days I've been wanting to set my phone down somewhere and record a drive by or three to actually experience the sound of the exhaust rather than the intake that I'm always listening to. Nowhere to lie, perfect timing.
Hey mate, great content. I'd love to see a mini touring series on this bike! Like even a weekend would be awesome. I'm looking to pick an SV650 up and want to get some feedback on how it is on a longer trip. Just an idea. Keep up the great work!
Thanks man! I think I might do a series like that next season as it’s getting a bit cold to do longer trips anytime soon. Just have to get a bunch of luggage first!
Great channel! Your sv runs well without a dyno tune after you put on the yoshi? Thinking about getting the slip on but dont know if should add a fuel pack/dyno tune.
A great choice for a place to get a slightly dramatic exhaust sound. Anyway for safety reasons you missed one thing, change the standard horn to the car horn (the truck horn is more astonishing) 😁
If you mean is it bad for the engine then it’s probably not great because you want a good amount of back pressure for things to operate properly. But if you upgrade to full exhaust you should get a high flow intake and tune the bike to run on those mods then you won’t be hurting anything. With no tune it could lose some power
@Smokin Monkey lemme rephrase that lol my bad I have a yoshimura slip on for my sv and I was thinking of replacing the rest of the pipes to basically make it a full exhaust with my slip on still
If you get rid of the cat you’ll probably need a tune but I can’t say for sure because I don’t know anyone else that has one of these bikes lol and I haven’t removed mine yet
I know this is an old video but does it pop on decel? Mine only does it sometimes randomly but I can’t figure out how to make it pop. Not sure if my pair system is blocked or not can’t see
I paid around $900 with shipping and taxes. Here in Canada I recommend Fortnine.ca but in the states I would go to revzilla.com. If you live outside North America I would just do a google search for ‘2017 SV650 yoshimura exhaust’ hope this helps
Man, this is like the fourth video I've watched of yours about this bike...And THIS video, right at the 4:50 mark I said to myself, "yo...this BLUE fuel tank w/ the white stripe, looks way better than the 2020 all black on black SV650..." I've been looking at the black on black, it's on sale right now, 2020...$5700US !!! Great price ! But I found a brand new BLUE fuel tank, just like yours...2018 tho, brand new.. I might have to talk them down..
@@SmokinMonkeyOG Just watched your video again. If you are interested in knowing, I chose the SV650 over the Yamaha. Getting it tomorrow!... But my yoshi exhaust is still in shipping so ill have to live with the stock for a few days until the yoshi arrives. Kinda sucks but then again I guess ill really feel the transition going from stock to yoshi.
We do ride on the right side what do you mean you guys drive on the left or wrong side. I believe that they realized how much of a mess they made in the UK so they wanted to correct it the the second time around when they had the chance so in Canada we drive in the right side not the wrong. 😉 just messing with you in case you were wondering haha cheers mate, ride safe out there!
I think you mentioned using some additive in the fuel to help the transition to the new exhaust. If so, can you let me know what you used and if you think it helped?
Nope never used anything just rode around and after a couple tanks things started to run better. Figure the o2 sensor was compensating for the new exhaust and finally got the tune right after some trial and error because it ran noticeably better after a few tanks of fuel
Haha nice bike! I’m actually thinking of getting one over the winter and trying it out. Will have to get a tune or at least a fuel controller I think if I go that route though
Hey dude I just got an SV650 and I want to pick up one of these mufflers, but I’m concerned on how much I’ll get stopped/ticketed, how often do you run into the law using this muffler?
Smokin Monkey Sweet, I’ll look into it more then. I gotta say your videos are real handy if you own a SV650, well edited and the sound on this one is outstanding. I appreciate the reply and I hope to see you do more videos with your bike
I dont know why, but I have went from the yoshi street alpha to a leo Vince and there was a big difference to me. Leo Is a few dbs louder and to me sounded better than the yoshi. It felt like yoshi was restrictive and leo opened it up. Dont know why
The Retreat I’m 6’1” and it sits mint. I would say that it’s definitely a good choice. Sit on one at a dealer if you have time and you’ll see what I mean. It’s a good upright seating position but you can still lean into it and ride aggressive if you get in the mood
Haha actually it will be smaller than my 650. Looking to get something fun for days where I want something different to ride and something I can take off road. And it’s not a CRF either lol
Right but what bike can you ride longer than two hours!? Other then a cruiser I’m yet to find something that doesn’t get uncomfortable after two hours. It’s mostly the seating position. When your feet are bent back like that you don’t get proper blood flow and that’s what makes you feel uncomfortable after some time. If you get up and walk around for 10mim it relieves all the pain. Just need to get the blood flowing again
DB killer yes or no ?
Nope!
funny how like every single video people ask this... people need to start mentioning it in their videos
@@rylandpeters8982 it is easy to hear! with baffle in it sounds flatta flatta flattr ."not clean sound" you can hear air hitting stuffs kinda.
@nutter get off the pipe you stupid fuck
An aftermarket exhaust is a MUST for a V-Twin bike, the Yoshi looks and sounds so good!!! Stock sound is just whack lol.
Can’t argue with you there
Great sound clips. This is the first one for this exhaust that shows the wide range of RPMs, good stuff.
Thanks! I tried my best to replicate real world conditions
hey bro!! your channel rocks!! i have a 2018 sv. love that exhaust. greets from argentina.

Nice! Best sound I’ve heard of the SV. And this doesn’t do it justice?! Oh man. I gotta get this bike ... and exhaust.
Do it!

Don’t think I’ll be selling it
you did a good job on this review ! should be the golden standard for "exhaust" videos.
Haha thanks man!!!
Best overall MC exhaust review I've ever seen/heard on YT.
Good job, thank you!
Thanks!!
I'm probably going to end up copying what you've done with your SV650! Everything looks and sounds good on it, thanks for another great video man!
No problem man I’ll take that as a compliment!! Glad you’re enjoying the content and the mods I’ve chose. Ride safe man
I really like the quality of the video ! 4K is great, keep it up. Also I really like that bike, very good ratio of price to quality.
Thanks man! I agree it is a lot of bike for a small price
hows the seat for your sv650? Comfort rating etc your opinions on it. Dailying and highway.
Great video as always man!
Thanks!!
That does put a smile on my face.
Gotta love the downshifts!
The engine sound amazing!!. I rarely see a V -twin engine on a Suzuki before but this bike sounds really cool.
heyoo, great content as usual!

I haven't done whole weekend trips on my sv650x yet, but some long day trips. These where totally fine 😎.
brother how much did you paid for the insurance?? i live in mississauga so i am curious
$80 per month but it will be different for everyone because of driving record, license, motorcycle type, engine size, and lots of other things

Yes that would definitely be nice haha I haven’t thought of that one!
Good deep sound, how tall are you?

sounds perfect. Not too loud for neighbors either.
I wouldn’t mind it a bit louder haha
is it bad for the exhaust to switch out the rest of the exhaust to make it basically a full exhaust?
