the purpose of lubricate your oil filter rubber seal with some oil is actually is not preventing it will damage during the tightening, the purpose of adding some oil on the rubber seal is actually prevent the filter from stucked and can be easily removed in coming oil change, u should mention the correct torque spec when tightening the oil filter, which normally 9 o'clock of turn for most vehicle

the correct torque spec for drain plug is around 15-20 ft lbs......this will make your drain plug last forever

you didn't mention what type of oil that suit your car engine, and i am not agree with using what ptfe tape, the correct way is use drain plug gasket, replace the gasket if it is damage, the dunno wat f**king tape will actually damage your drain plug threads, i am not agree with what u are sharing with ppls

Dip Stick is usually labeled as Hot and Cold. As the same amount of engine oil, during different temperature will appear "higher" near to H and when it's cold, appear "lower" near C due to expansion of fluid in higher temperature.

Why ptfe tape? Please advise people with right info. Why the hell do manufacturers invent sump plug gasket then? Don't be so chinaman work shop by using ptfe tape.

Agree. But if it works then why not right ? Well it is a DIY after all, not professional mechanic dealing

Law Hong hwa if you can diy and buy the oil and filter from spare part shop, definitely you can buy that sump plug gasket rather than lazy way of using ptfe tape. Mixing ptfe tape on metal to metal contact plus hot temperature fluid. Yea. Diy with poor knowledge.

PTFE tape is used commonly to prevent leakage. Yes, of course most manufacturers now even recommends replacing the plug itself, however this workaround is accessible for most people including rural folks and people with access to only basic parts. It's a DIY guide after all.

Kaki DIY if "rural" folks can view this video, I pretty sure they know what is a standard copper or aluminium washer for starters. U don't need fancy oem washers but common sense will tell you not to mix ptfe with metal and metal surfaces. I guess there are many "bad" diy people out there. Their car, their decision, their errors. As an established car reviewer, they should be teaching the right method, not teach typical "chinaman" workshop/diy pokok ceri methods. My 2 cent opinion. This shows the amount of knowledge they know or the lack of research before posting a video.
