- In this video I spend some time walking you through all the steps needed to both unlock the schematics for the Automated Ice & Asteroid Drills, and show you how to purchase them without unlocking the quest. Overall, this is a very easy task, although a little time consuming. This video will clear up any questions you have & get you mining very soon!

Also., for the scrap yards, always turn your turrets Off and let the scrap yard kill the attackers. You can accidentally hot the POI if your turrets are shooting at them and then youre instantly unfriendly with the colonists... Ive had it happen to me and at least two other ppl I've played with.

Great stuff, although apparently it's been re-written to actually cost 3.9m. Not hard to get, but I will admit to pondering whether it was worth it to start zorching polaris.
Awesome, I knew there was a quest to unlock them but was unsure exactly the steps to do it!! Can you get those big auto miners for planets? and do they mine more ore? That would be worth if it's better then the standard auto miners! 👍😀💯
Thank you & yes you can get those big miners for the planet. There is a drawback though. They mine at a slower rate than an advanced auto miner, and requires the industrial fuel. The upside is one fuel fill lasts many days, so you’re not having to keep coming back.

Thanks you may want to bring an extra 3 million with you if you want to buy the blueprint for the industrial autominers but the advanced are the most efficient.
how does one get the silver powder needed to build the (non ice) auto drills? I have the ice drillls but not sure how to get the silver powder?
The PDA will tell you where it can be found.

There is another way to get the rich asteroid mining drills, I remember unlocking the automated rich asteroid miner and excavator but never actually did this quest. Maybe lucky random drop...
Yeah they can drop from Ultra Rare loot boxes. I believe they have a low drop rate, so up to you. You can roll the dice & hope to get it quickly from drops, or do the quest to guarantee it.
Stupid question... Why I should I bother with these new fancy asteroid mining+? Does it give any unique resources? Or... does it give lots of resources in some very convenient way?
It’s not a stupid question at all. Yeah, there are benefits to mining them, and each resource yields different benefits. Some of them yield the rarest resources! I do plan another video for that though. Hopefully soon!
It's the best way to get some materials that are very rare and yields lots of promethium also. You can get magnatite from some dense asteroids too.
How do I complete the quantum core quest?
I’ve never done that quest, so I’m not sure. Sorry.

Eleon needs to improve their mining. #1 - There should be Auto Miners that work on asteroids. #2 - There should be an easier way to transport said materials across the galaxy.
The current system discourages exploration because you're constantly having to run back to pick up resources.
Yeah, to a certain extent this is true. You can place a small teleport base at an auto miner deposit that has a container controller and store the resources in that, which will allow you to significantly reduce your ship trips to that miner. But yeah, you are still stuck to come back to that location.
The other way to look at it, is to place a few miners on pentaxid, then warping across the galaxy & back is no big deal. It doesn’t take long for the miners to quickly outpace your galactic travels, and you’ll be sitting on 10’s of thousands of refined pentaxid in no time.
Surely it encourages exploration because instead of going back you have to find those matierials out there.
does the scrapyard sell rich drills?
If you're asking about the Rich Asteroid Turrets, no. They only sell Ice.
some of us do not have the super warp drive engines to get to the Forge. Is there a good route to take to get out that far?
All galaxies are randomly generated. You have to map your own route. And you don’t need a special warp drive. Any will do.

Navigational data should not be sold. It should be turned in for warp distance improvements. Far better ways to make money.
Yeah, I agree. I don’t think I suggested selling it? I only mentioned you can get them from free as drops, from that one guy.
