Wow never thought I'd be on a top ten list thank you Spanj. Just knowing you had a look is cool. Btw your build is in another class mate I look forward to when you release it. Looks really awesome.
I'm playing now. And trying some buildings of Workshop and.. Man!! A lot of big and awesome constructions. I cant believe that a single player build that things. Just Like Space Engineers (what i played around 700 hours). Really two great comunitties. A big thanks for all that guys and girls. And a really big thanks for Spanj for making this amazing lists!
Thank you, spanj, for taking the time to do some research, find these excellent designs and give designers a platform beyond the Workshop for people to see. This game is available on Steam, but not every gamer uses Steam, so these TH-cam videos provide exposure for the game and what can be done with it. These very creative folks (yourself included) have done an excellent job putting together usable and great looking designs, despite the limitations (features??) imposed by CPU. I have been a fan of your videos since I first discovered them while I was on disability and that is what made me invest in the game. Keep up the great work, Sir!
Love your video Spanj. I most enjoyed how you showed a large variety of bases and vessels for the latest alpha. While the new CPU system limits more what we can do, this sample showcase demonstrates that it is still possible to knock out designs that are still nice looking while still remaning ultra practical. I think as well as people where negged out by the CPU changes some people overlooked how massive the new docking system is and how much that opens up the game to a design point of view. Loved seeing the SVS that can lift tanks and the amazing CV that has mini CVs for every purpose. I think as time moves on we are going to see more and more modular CVs as they look amazing and allow the player to have a nice vessel for every purpose. Want to attack a space POI without risking all your loot? No problem launch your fighter CV. Want to do some space mining? No problem launch your super small and so ultra agile mining CV to get the goodies. Awesome stuff showing some real possibilities. Massive fan of your lets plays, would like to see though more videos like this, as well as hoping to see a new season of Empyrion lets play.
There is soo much that can still be done. I mean, I'm working on a Size Class 24 (currently) mothership that is well under the CPU limit. But even so, that cargo module I made that Spanj showcased is only one of the dockable CVs I'm going to make for the mother ship. So you can still make huge things if you want with loads of stuff, and a bit of different thinking. The modular Mindset is definitely on the rise. :)
I almost always put a shutter door on the floor of my base so I can run my starter constructors inside the house without draining any fuel. Very useful early game. Depending on availability of resources I may use a regular door turned horizontal.
Great showcase of designs, thanks for sharing them with us! I'm especially glad to see one of styLmntz's blueprints. I really like the looks of their builds, especially the CVs and their interiors.
19:55 I get the feeling that Kithid is inspired by the Homeworld series of games... or perhaps he was one of the developers of Homeworld? His ships remind me a lot of the ships found in Homeworld.
Thanks for sharing. There are people who have a remarkable talent. When a pleasant aesthetic sense is added to this, extraordinary models can be found. Congratulations to all those who manage to create spaceships that do not look like huge flying suppositories, as happens to me.
I have to say, your video title card is really freakin great graphic design. You do them yourself? Cause damn pro work. I clicked on this because of that thumbnail in my recommendations!
@@Spanj, nah, I mean the way the elements were put together (including font type and combinations or not). I've studied graphic design and inforgraphics presentation and the common theme was color theory such that they adhere to pleasing combinations (adobe has a free website for that) and parsimony, or keeping it as simple as possible while still presenting the information or data you need to such that the ppl you present the stuff to don't immediately freak out and turn off, eyes glazed over... I meant that.
Just what I needed 😎 None of my WS bp's work ( obviously) so i am busy im ny shipyard getting a basic library together..i will be taking these apart to learn secrets 😁 Only one im not keen on is the Kraken..it kinda reminded me of a knock off Rolex..the bling is there in bits..but you can tell its not 100%. Taking inspiration from a thing? Sure..heck yes. Outright copy? Not my cup of tea 😎😎
If this game gave me the ability to control a fleet of my own ships with AI or remote control my ships in my fleet I probably wouldn't play space engineers.
0.o You can dock CVs onto other CVs? Why would you "lift and shift" HVs? Why not just drive the HVs? I can get moving HVs between planets, but i don't get "lift and shift." The smaller lifter didn't have warp.
hello dear spanj. A quick question : no more must have ? Since reforged Eden am... well, confused, old good stuffs are useless (my cv got ripped, for example). I'd so appreciate seeing a simple, basic one that works to extrapolate...
Tips for a new player. - First off, find a way to store your vehicles and essential base components like grow area, generator, core, etc.... Underground. Drone strikes will be a regular issue, and if you can focus on destroying the drones without worrying about them hitting your base structures and vehicles, you can do better at defending and save yourself the resources normally spent on repairs. Drones can't hit things if they're obscured by rock and dirt. Doesn't mean you're protected, so watch out for dropships. - Next, don't be afraid to build multiple smaller buildings, each with their own solar panels. You can have a max of 15 panels on a single base, so if you build a 3 panel by 5 panel pattern, you'll end up with a square. Put them on the roof of each base-structure, straight up and you won't have to worry about angling them towards the sun. Helps cut down on fuel usage and it helps cut down on massive CPU issues from having a ton of things on one single base. Each base-structure can have its own purpose. - Last tip. Take advantage of sleeping at night until you get a HV to explore with(specifically one with a harvester module 😉... It serves as an excellent weapon to farm mobs for exp). The critters will mince you until you get the right tools for protecting yourself. Good luck!
Cant get my HV to dock to the OD30. Placed a docking pad on the top of the HV but it never docks.. any idea what the problem is? Shields and turrets of HV are deactivated.
The problem with videos like this is that they are time sensitive since new BPs are dropping daily. However if you decide to do an updated video of this type for 2024, I'd say to make the topic more about the ten "must have" features a BP should have and show some examples. This will make the video more timeless. For example, I place a "Minikami Base" on swamp planets because it has all the basics and I can use it to extract hydrogen and oxygen for the more expensive "Promethium Hydrocells". I can place ninety six hydrogen extractors in one base with a production of 3125 units each for 300K units each time I get around to visiting them. So that is a BP I consider a timeless value. I also leave a small SV (the Marauder RE2 version) so that I can teleport in and collect resources from the local auto miners. That is an essectial part of my gaming rituals.
I think it would be a great idea to have an attach to blueprint option which converts multiple blueprints to a single structure in SP you just set the gap and position. Would B great for modular bases
Audio levels still need some work with your new setup mate. I'm sure, if you listen to the video you'll understand what I mean. Happy New Year to you too btw.

It's funny you talked about colorschemes. I'm an artist and I use the empyrion workshop to find new colors to use together. Lot's of talent out there.

Are there any more games like this that does modular, lego-like building with blocks?
