I have really appreciated Ronny's growth, evolution, more confidence, and authenticity this last year on the Daily Show. It's very palpable and I love it!
I love how all four cohosts (besides stewart) have all developed a style unique to themselves and the rest of the writers find a way to make it work. Stewart showed them to sound authentic and their diversity makes them another breath of fresh air.
Ronny is without a doubt one of the best comedian of his generation. Honestly, I think he’s the only funny Asian comedian currently who has made it big
I think Ronny would be the top candidate for permanent host of the daily show, but Jordan Klepper is number 2 in my mind, other than that, no one else even comes close. Ronny, you have an ability for the "art of comedic delivery" I have no idea about how good you are at writing "jokes" or improv or any of that, but the delivery is completely Prime Now.
Was the coverage "fearless"? The show spent so much time focusing on his appearance and not on why this person was pushed to the point of killing, so that private healthcare companies would be exposed. For such a scathing comedian, him and the rest of the TDS missed the mark, possibly to appease the billionaire channel overlord
There wasn’t any unassailable information about why exactly he did it that early on. TDS isn’t some hot take junkie streamer. The general public didn’t need it spelled out anyway. It’s not as though the show hasn’t commented on how absurd medical insurance in the US is.
I respect Ronnie, but you are dead right. When Vin Laden was killed nobody was saying "remember, he's a family man, nobody wishes him dead". Thompson was one-step-removed responsible for the deaths and utter distress of literally millions. American culture cannot be honest about this, in any sense. It would lead immediately to very difficult questions and one could argue much of American culture exists purely to avoid these questions. Morally, Thompson did it just for money. Mangione is a hero.
The whole time my intrusive thought channel was thinking about the shape of that shelf. If I made that out of spring steal it would have an intriguing range of motion. Is it intentionally like that, meaning, is it a real shape with an actual name and physics equations that describe its behavior?
@@msqunhuado you think it’s his home or office? There are a bunch of books on the window ledge so I don’t think it’s a hotel, but it is small and empty… maybe office?

He’s crushing it!
I love Ronny Chiang!
Who dat?

Great conversation. Ronnie plays a prick on TDS, but I'm always impressed with his depth and empathy when the act is turned off.
I like that shelf behind Ronny.
We all need that guy to speak painful truths that help us all get better together, Ronny brought his brand of humor into this & ran with it.
You ride that edge so well! Just love you to bits.
I just love the current host format. Ronny's great at hosting and reporting.
Wow. He has depth and a sense of morality.

Best decision to let them rotate host between them

Josh Johnson.
Hahaha 😂😂love Ronny❤❤❤
Rogan wishes he were half as smart, while being funny.
Mandatory Brown leather couch, very nice.
Tiktok sure figured out how to make it funny AND meaningful
Why does Ronnie sound so much better than the host? Is the "Alexander Graham-Bell" sound of his voice on purpose?
What you are hearing is his voice far from his mic in a room with bare walls while the host is "close miked" with his face in much closer proximity

it probably was exactly what you said tbh, imo, since comments are getting cut

The incident wasn't really that horrible though, was it? I know he has to say that, but really... nothing of value was lost.
can't help it ~ nice shelf, ugly couch

I like both
He must be traveling. It doesn't look lived in.

Is Ronnie cosplaying Short Round from Indiana Jones?
