When exploring new places, it's helpful to have a small physical map which has elevations/etc. to scale, so you can estimate your exit points (to major roads/highways). In case you get lost, you can atleast reach your nearest exit & hopefully get back on track in no time.

Thanks for the tip! Having a detailed physical map with elevations and exit points marked sounds really helpful. I usually rely on digital tools, but having a backup physical map is a great idea for safety and better navigation. I'll definitely consider it for my future travels!
