Great flight review.. especially having the multiple active parts of the screen.. looks very Professional but with your usual bit if humor thrown in. Great. Thanks for including my footage in and great synchronisation.. I know you put a lot of work into these and it shows.
Thank you! It did take a wee while to get them synchronised, and to get the colour balance consistent, but I think it was worth it - thanks again for being so generous with releasing your footage and for inviting me to your streams, it’s a great way to spend half a day!
Fantastic video! New sub! Keep up your great work and passions despite the challenges you may be facing, with loads of persistence, enjoyments and optimism! I hope things go smoothly and well for you and keep up your great spirits too! I am so grateful to be supporting you and seeing your progress getting better and better! 🙂
@@InvercargillAviation thanks, I’m soooo close now! I have a bit of a celebration / thank you video almost all set to go, so I’m pretty excited about it!
Great review, never experienced doing a circle around to gain altitude to try and avoid the weather before - quite an experience by the looks! Looks like same cookie on all air NZ domestic flights had the exact same options on both my flights over there recently lol
Thanks again! The CookieTime Chocolate Chunk Cookie has become a bit of a staple. There was a period where they would have different cookie flavours, and apparently they had complaints, so have gone back to the original. Sometimes there will be a second option (crisps, corn chips, popcorn) but there’s almost always the Chocolate Chunk Cookie.
I don’t know how I wasn’t subbed to you already, I’m pretty sure I’ve watched all of your videos! Thanks for the kind words, and if you get here I’d love to do a flight together!
Only three teal tails left! I was super lucky to get 3 snacks - last night I didn’t even get a lolly!! I know it’s not a birthright to get a lolly, but I do have a certain level of expectation, haha.
I’ve only very recently found your channel but can I just say your I absolutely love your review style, you communicate in a very clear and cheery way and I really enjoy your reviews 👍
I am more than satisfied with this months installment of my monthly-ish dose of Supersonic Kiwi, amazing to see you being adventurous and getting a green lolly!
Hahaha - yes, I really went outside my comfort zone with that decision. It turns out the green ones are actually pretty good! And I’m pleased you enjoyed this instalment, especially given that I’ve reviewed the same route on the same aircraft type before…
Thank you so much! I have quite a lot of whimsy in my heart, and I worry that too much is leaking out into my videos, but it seems that others like it too…
That was AMAZING! I didn’t know they were painting the last of the Q300s, I think I have mixed feelings about it. It looked like it was a great flight, 2D provides some great views of a little bit of everything. 😁
Thank you! Yes, I always felt the teal tails were a wee nod to the past, and added a small touch of personality. I’m fairly committed to row 2 or 3 on the Q300s - as you say, you can see a bit of everything. The only other option is at the back, but I find that a bit noisier and the engine exhaust puts a bit of distortion in the footage.
I currently only have one international booked with Air New Zealand, in November. I have flights with Qantas, Emirates, and Austrian between now and then though. I do have old footage from international Air New Zealand flights that I could make.
Going from the Q300 to a 787 (assuming you’re going via Huston with Air New Zealand) will be a significant change! Actually, maybe you’ll end up on one of the 777s they’ve leased from Cathay, now that would be an interesting experience…
To do that I’d have to go to the loo, and to be completely honest they’re not awesome on the little Q300s… but it is a legitimate request, so I guess I have to, right? That’s how that works, isn’t it?
Spent 2 years in Wellington 20 years ago for University, never been back since. This amazing video got me thinking, maybe its time to come back to say hi
The city wasn’t looking it’s best during this arrival, but as you’ll know it’s not an abnormal state of affairs for there to be low cloud and a bit of a breeze, haha!
Thanks! Yes, I found the Wellington Flights Live channel from a random Google search, and found my flight by scrubbing through the footage, then messaged to ask for permission. Kevin was awesome about using it, and even popped the high res footage in a drop box for me. And then invited me to hang out with him on his stream, so it turned out really great on multiple fronts!
Amazing Video 😊, I love Tauranga Airport, So it's 1 Hour and 15 Minutes trip I think they should use ATR 72 but anyways great video can't wait till the Next Video, another suggestion from me is Orginair or Golden Bay Air 😊 Xavier
I love TRG as well, it’s super easy, and there’s often interesting aircraft there - double win! There are some ATRs scheduled into TRG, but I guess the demand isn’t there to have them on all the time. Personally I’d rather they had two Q300 flights over one ATR flight, as i can pick a time that works better for me. I was actually looking at Golden Bay’s schedule the other day, but I couldn’t quite make it work. I definitely intend to make an OriginAir at some point, but I don’t have anything booked yet. I do have a half finished video from a PCN-WLG flight I did a few years ago on Sounds Air - I’ve already released one of the flight the other way. Maybe I should finish that…
I love all the Q300s, but especially the teal tails. If I’m completely honest NEQ is my personal favourite. So many awesome old warbirds at NZTG, such a great spotting airport!
Thanks Rod. It was a pretty ordinary approach and landing, that’s for sure - at least we didn’t go round, although that would have added some additional excitement to the review!
Thanks! It’s a gorgeous looking aircraft, I can completely understand why you’d have a painting of it. Only 100 to go!! I have a celebration video almost ready to go - it’s something a little bit different, but hopefully you’ll find it fun!

Excellent video! I love all the extra features you show. Keep up the good work.

Awesome trip report! The clouds look just awesome on departure... Nice!
Thanks! It was a weird weather day, 4 seasons in one flight, but it did make for some unique views.
Amazing mate
Thanks!
Great vid bro

great video! still have plans to fly on the Q300 should be fun!
Thank you! I think they’re great wee planes and reckon you’ll love it!
@@SupersonicKiwi I'll be going to fly into Gisborne on one this year.
