When I was a teenager, we had a great time singing this song all together driving down the road. We even did. The windshield wipers with our arms. This song brings back some pretty good memories.
When I was a little kid we had a lady in my home town named Bunny. I always thought she should have married Eddie Rabbit lol. American Boy is my favorite song of his. And of course you can never go wrong with I Love a Rainy Night.
Eddie Rabbitt was a country music singer & songwriter. He wrote hits such as "Kentucky Rain" for Elvis Presley in 1970 & "Pure Love" for Ronnie Milsap in 1974. He had a lot of great songs in his solo career such as "I Love A Rainy Night", "Drinkin' My Baby (Off My Mind)", "Suspicions", "Every Which Way But Loose" etc. He did a couple of duets one with Juice Newton called "Both To Each Other (Friends & Lovers)" & "You & I" with Crystal Gayle.
Spot on, as usual, Dagmar! I can remember this song from his many guest appearances on variety shows of that time. Gosh, I miss variety shows. Family-friendly music, skits, & comedy.
Fun Facts: Eddie was set to perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo but, fell ill. Texas local-favorite got a call and was asked if he wanted to fill-in. The big break! This was George Strait’s first of many Livestock Show concerts at the Houston Astrodome. Jayy, please react to: George Strait - Amarillo By Morning (official video) from that night.
When I had a car I would drive the backroads for fun. Especially on the weekends I would sometimes end one or two states away. I even enjoyed getting lost on backroads. If I had a car now I would be gone all day, I love driving with a nice song on radio.
A phenomenal artist with so many great songs and underrated.. try- two dollars in the jukebox, Rocky Mountain music, you and I, she’s coming back to say goodbye, rainy night, you can’t run from love , suspicions, someone could lose a heart
He also had the song "I Love a Rainy Night"! Unfortunately Eddie passed away too soon from Lung cancer and he wasn't a smoker..so sad..very talented person!
Nothing like hauling cattle doing 80mph down the interstate with the radio full blast with the subwoofers pounding with the beat. You should try his other songs. Too bad cancer got him, I believe that what happened not for sure.
Hey Jayy- good song- he has another great HIT ,groovin’ song called “Someone Could lose a heart tonight.” Sooo funky/ groovy. Would love to be see you do that one too. I believe you’d enjoy it a lot as well. 💝🙂✨
