Hello! I sure appreciate that! I have started work on a second book highlighting the rest of the system- KC to Texas, with a little more Missouri pics. I don’t have a timeline for release just yet, but I’ll keep everyone posted!
@@rickolson6031 hello! I’m currently looking into that possibility and have been in talks with my publisher. More titles are in the works, but I’m also trying to gauge interest in another run of the original. I appreciate your interest! That helps as I gather everyone’s thoughts on it.
Mr Landis, in your book you refer to a connection the M-K-T built to access industries on a former Frisco branch line. One of the industries was Rival Manufacturing. Do you know if the regional railroad continues to provide rail service for Rival?
Hello! Rival actually shut down its Clinton plant back in the 1990s. The facility was then purchased and expanded by a company called Champion Oil. The spur track, which includes that short ex-Frisco connection, was retained. Champion is currently a major rail customer and receives multiple tank cars of petroleum every week. The plant, along with the grain elevator there in Clinton, provide a decent amount of business for the railroad!
@@MainTrack I am glad that the Rival facility was repurposed and continues to utilize rail transportation. I never saw carload numbers for Rival, but I suspect that Champion provides greater revenue for the regional. Thank you for responding to my question.
Hi, Wesley! We sold out of the book a few months ago. Some hobby stores still had them in stock after we ran out, but I’m not sure if any are left. Also, I’ve seen copies pop up on eBay. It’s possible we will do a reprint sometime in the future. -Mike
I look on Rail Guide In Welch Oklahoma Union Pacific Railroad I didn't know has MKT
Yes, that is correct. That was originally Katy’s mainline from Kansas City down to Texas. It was a lot busier than the route across Missouri.
@@MainTrack I look on Rail Guide In Welch Oklahoma Used to be Green line MKT now it's Yellow Union Pacific Railroad
great book, I love it

@@MainTrack Great!! I missed the first run, so I will await the good news. Put me down for a copy!
My baby caught the Katy. Left me a mule to ride. The train go by, I swung on behind. Crazy bout her, that hard headed woman of mine.
