I love Bryan Johnson and what he’s doing. The host and his comments and questions are terrible though. He’s also, at times, slurring his words and sounds generally uninformed.
Bryan Johnson doesn't distinguish the fact that his mind is also telling him to follow his new protocol and to get healthy. Completely demonizing the mind in its totality is an inaccurate way of describing the more primitive aspects of the mind from what can be called our higher selves. Self mastery, which has never been easy, is the goal. It makes me sad to see younger generations giving up on this and thinking AI should control their lives because human minds are too primitive. The human mind can do things that a machine will never be able to replicate no matter how advanced the programming, because the mind surpasses programming. I realize this idea is not in vogue with most academics.
The mind feels, thinks, wills, etc., it's not exclusively 'wills'. There's more than sankhara, and there's something greater than the mind: consciousness.
