    This has come back in sale in Aldi this week. This review was very helpful in helping me decide, there's not allot on the internet about it. Thanks very much 👍

      Hi Sean, I ended up getting one from Argos, because they had it in stock, and Lidl didn't.
      I got the "Meaco Dry Arete One 25 Litre Dehumidifier" 350 euro.
      Got to say i'm very happy, tip: remember to take the plastic covering off the air filter.
      This Lidl one seems decent enough for the price, I just wanted one with more horse power.

    Hello. When it reaches The set humidity level - what happens? Does it stop fully or just continues to circulate the air i.e. the comressor is suht but not the blower. ??

    For anyone wondering the 10l per day or any humidifier litre estimate comes from testing it in a room with 80 + percent humidity / very damp at 30 degrees Celsius/ very hot so if your room is colder and has less humidity it wont works aswel so a tip to suck as much moisture as possible out raise the heat while using a humidifier.

      Get an ebac. The water collection tank comes in the form of a plastic jerry can and only contains 3.5 litres at most making it very easy to handle.

      if your landlord has the sense to get you a dehumidifier I would get a bigger unit that can hold more water. Also this is only really good for small rooms or drying clothes. If your landlord is worried about mould I would say a bigger unit is a must and maybe set it up were you can use the pipe so you dont have to empty the water. On the plus side its rather good your landlord is thinking on these lines..i found i need less heat in rooms that have dryer air in them

      I got the "Meaco Dry Arete One 25 Litre Dehumidifier" from Argos, (350 Euro) it has a connection to connect a hose, so you don't need to empty water daily.
      I have not actually used the hose, but it's one of the features.
      I am very happy with mine, the Argos one, am reading these comments on the Lidl to see what it was like.

    Hi
    When I checked over this dehumidifier in the shop I noticed the seam where the front and back plastic meet ( vertically down the side) was not straight but a rather poor looking fit. Is this the same on yours because I looked at two different dehumidifiers and they were both the same. It’s not easy to see in your clip.

      Hi ! The one I bought seems pretty well made, but not the best for sure. The back part you're mentioning about seems alright too.

      @@NerdByteOdyssey Hi
      The join of the front and back plastic panels is what I am referring about.. This is half way back from the front of the unit, on both LHS and RHS.. The middle vertical join / seam on both sides was a very poor fit.

    We put the water in the back basin, and what is the use of the hose, where do we put the hose?

    • @NerdByteOdyssey
      @NerdByteOdyssey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also do the same. You can connect the hose at the back of the dehumidifier, I helps to drain the water if you have drainage system in your house. I don’t have any, so I just remove the storage part like you and throw the water in the basin

    we have this for a month, it used to be so silent but now its so noisy. any tips?

    • @NerdByteOdyssey
      @NerdByteOdyssey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure how to make it less noisy unfortunately, I didn't find any functions for that in the dehumidifier as it's quite basic. It's been almost two months of me using it, still the same noise as before. I am using it quite gently as it's definitely not the fanciest well made one, but sometimes it's all just luck with electronic products in general you know. I am not sure why yours has gotten louder. You can check if the air filter rack is loose or not. As It has warranty, I would suggest you to contact lidl regarding this issue. They can even refund you or change to another one.

    Hi
    I bought one and tried it out over 24 hrs. Windows closed and temp 15 to 18 degrees Celsius. The reading on my humidity meter was 73. In a 12 hour spell this was reduced to 53 but the water collected was only 1 litre. I moved the dehumidifier to another room and ran overnight for 10 hours and the water collected was only 800ml. So not sure why more water is not collected, any views about this would be grateful.

    • @NerdByteOdyssey
      @NerdByteOdyssey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David! Even if the packaging says it can collect moisture upto 10Li per day, I believe it's not possible for such a small dehumidifier. Are your rooms big? It works alright for small rooms but takes a really long time for bigger rooms. Two of my bedrooms are quite small but the living room is bigger hence it took a long time. This could collect like 4 to 5 litres of water in total for my two small bed rooms , a living room, hallway and two bathrooms.

    • @davidmenary6909
      @davidmenary6909 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NerdByteOdyssey The bedroom is approx 12ft x 9ft . How long did it take you to collect 4-5 litres.

    • @sirajummunirfahim
      @sirajummunirfahim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidmenary6909 I think what she's referring to is that she collected a total of 4-5 litres from all the rooms. As the humidity level in your room gets lower, the humidifier will collect less and less water. So, if all the rooms are over 70% relative humidity level, you can probably collect 5 liters of water within a day if you use the dehumidifier on all the rooms one by one. Another thing to mention is that, air can hold more water in higher temperature, so, you will collect way more water for 10% decrease in humidity when the room is warmer.

    • @turquoise806
      @turquoise806 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      After all, it depends on the amount of water in the air. If there is little water in the air (hence low humidity), of course the dehumidifier won’t be able to collect as much water as you would if the humidity level were high.
      The label that says 10L/24hours must be about right. I suppose this product was tested in a controlled environment in which the humidity level is sufficiently high all throughout the testing process.
      The amount of water your machine collected is just about as expected of it. No worries right there!

      I looked at one the other day in Lidl - it's 246 watt if I remember correctly. UK electricity cost is about 35p per kwh - so almost exactly one quarter of this this cost. So it'll cost about 9p per hour to run if I am not mistaken. Cheers.
      Just to make sure I've explained clearly - it's about 250 watt. Electricity in the UK is now about 35p for 1000 watts for 1 hour. So it's one quarter of that. Therefore, about 9p for 1 hour.

      Remember it only runs on full power when it’s lowering the humidity - once it has achieved the required humidity it only goes to full power when it needs to - about 1 hour a day in my house.
