📝 Have you written a book? My life goal is to be a published author and make a living from writing and I am using this year to gain experience, build up a portfolio and work on a book with my agent. I have just finished the final draft of that book, as you can see in this video. I did self-publish a book about bullying when I was seventeen which is available on Amazon (amzn.to/3mdJKLm), but I'm slightly embarrassed by it now!

I don't have merch in the traditional sense (I can't imagine selling something with my face or name on haha!), but I do have a stationery company where I sell planners for students. I am here since 2018/19 and I love Rubys channel so so much. There were times when I felt the vibe more and less but eventually, I would always come back. Every video is like a nostalgic trip and I feel so at home and safe in my little cottagecore space here on youtube when I see there is a new video up. I just purchased the academic planner which is so weird because I remember the first launch and that I was so sad because I didn't get one and now look how far we've come. I am so so happy for Ruby and in a weird way so proud of this person that I kind of feel like is my sister and that I on the other hand never met. Stay as you are

'candlestick holder' is tautology! the candle is just a candle; candlesticks are what hold the candles :)
I might be wrong here (especially because English is not my first language so please do correct me if I am) but I am pretty sure a candlestick is a type of candleholder, and a candlestickholder is therefore double?
So a candlestick is another name for a long taper candle, and a candlestick holder is what you would put one inside :) x

Ruby, I can’t agree more that holding a piece of writing is preferable. It’s a tactile feeling not experienced when viewing the same quote, poem, or text on screen, pc or phone; somehow, it’s more personal and intimate.
Bookbinding is quite a complicated skill to master, there are a few courses you could sign up for that help teach the basics.
I really want to learn! I’m definitely in my learning phase :)
Very lovely video Ruby!!!!!! Wow it's amazing you posted this. I order used paperbacks, especially during Summer, and they are in various conditions. Now I really wanna look into Book Binding as a way to save them. Also thanks for recommending "Atomic Habits." I'm already half way through and have written down so much. I'm also taking the Postcard thing as well. That's a lovely way to keep up with the memories.

Hi Ruby, It would be so interesting to show us your instalation in your nex room/appartment (i don't know hihi) for Oxford. The organisation for a new academic year, decoration etc. Sometime it's really complicated having two room (one in family house and the other "only" for university). Thanks in advance for sharing !
Yes, I'm curious about this too. I really hope she experiences the campus, the staff, and the other students; as well as Oxford life -- and that Oxford doesn't turn into online office hours and virtual classes. But she did mention driving lessons, so maybe that's a clue in Ruby's secret campus life.... 🙂

I was so disappointed when I got my planner last year as an American and the days did days of the month and the days of the week didn't match up I would absolutely love to see an American version love your stuff so much. Maybe also for the American version could make school start in august and end in. early June. all said with love

Another lovely video, as always. Such a great idea to try to reset after a trip and to organise memories straight away, I feel like I’d look back on photos and videos from trips more if they were organised like this.

The book binding process was cool to watch. I have always wonder how book binding works, especially after my copy of Prisoner of Azkaban started to come out of its binding. You always seem to have such nice and unique routines.

Remember that at the end of the day it is a business. It is not just a small channel anymore for friends, family, and perhaps a couple random people. Although, at least this video share other material then just promotional advertisement for the tracker. As well, if they need to spend even more money on advertising, that would increase the cost of the planner which then limits who is able to afford it. It is a balancing act, a little something I constantly remind myself when watching bigger creators. also I talked into my phone so I apologize for any mistakes
Her business, her platform. Every content creator is doing the same. Personally I think she should promote more her own venture, she is still shy from this point of view.

Can you do an updated room tour?
Not sure if you've already discarded the Totoro covers yet, but if you really liked them maybe you could pin them up or frame them? The artwork is so pretty, I'm sure there's another way you can use the covers you removed!
The bookbinding project would be so much nicer if you used a straight edge ruler to measure, mark, and cut both the cloth and the boards. I did this for a book that I covered for my beloved daughter. The result was worth the extra time and effort.
Can you talk more about how you started your business, you mentioned it goes straight to a warehouse after ordering. So is it drop shipping?
So we print the planners and then have these shipped to a warehouse where they’re sent out (because I’m unable to do this myself). It works well like this and we work closely with the lovely team at the warehouse :) x
