That train ride is all about the windows and the enchanted views from any one of them. For anyone going to Anchorage, leave your phone and computer behind and be captivated by the most dramatic views in America, all year around.
Right, but the winter train has tiny windows as the train is pretty old, and a very limited standard view. We did the same route from Anchorage to Fairbanks by car in November and had a much better experience. We could make stops as we wanted and have more time to appreciate the best parts of it.
Hahaha, best face ever after taking a bite out of that burger haha. You facial expression was priceless thanks for the video and for the recommendation for traveling in car instead of train. I’ve talked to my congressman and senator to send more aid to help Ukrainian people! We’re doing the best we can so we can resolve the problem. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
Thanks you, Ivan 🙏🏻 You’re helping so much, thanks for your kindness. And yep, don’t ever take that train and never order any food on board 😭 not worth it at all.
Thank you for such an awesome review. You guys know how to keep it real - straight to the point and somehow funny at the same time. I was skeptical of the train, because I have been on US trains before. Probably would be tolerable for 3-4 hours, but 12 hours seems like a loooooong time. Much better to just rent a car. You confirmed my fears, and you saved me $2k in tickets for a family of 4. Maybe I should send you a bonus from the money I saved!!!
Haha, that’s the best feedback we can get! We created this channel to post only honest reviews as were so tired of what we were getting in real life (photos vs reality). We know we sound harsh sometimes, but again all the promo sweet reviews we watched were so misleading 🥲 We did the same trip from Anchorage to Fairbanks by car and it was so much better! Just make sure your car has winter tires and not all-season as it gets icy on the roads. We could stop where we wanted, even had a flight over Denali as an extra unplanned activity. So much worth it! But this train - nope. Never again! Hope you love Alaska 😍
Another great production and no I would have no interest for train travel but glad you took the experience for your viewers. No matter what the adventure both of you always have great hair !!!! How many languages do you both speak? ❤️
Thanks! this was a real disaster 🤣 we planned for it to be the highlight of the trip, but the train was so old and boring :((( this was our first train ever in the US. The advertisement vs reality is incomparable 😩 and $450 for 2 tickets, I mean we could have some more fun for the $. P.S. We speak English, Ukrainian and russian (unfortunately). Marina also speaks some Spanish and German
Checker keep up the great productions my wife and I eagerly watch them all. You 2 are so real and honest with your posts. You both have great hair (why am I looking at your hair LOL) my vote though is for Marina my wife votes for you go figure love ❤️ you both
@@agentjoe1890 Thanks for your great support! It’s been very tough recently, but we are going strong 💪🏻 Sending lots of love to you and your wife ❤️❤️❤️
For the experience you guys were after, you would have needed to book the Goldstar service. You guys were in the Adventure class, which is as basic as it gets.
I guess, we bought the only option that’s available at winter time. Who knew they run the right one (Goldstar) only during summer season 😅 The name of the train was “Aurora …” which literally made us think we’ll see Aurora above our heads as we move across the Alaska.
@@terrynelson1587 www.alaskarailroad.com/ride-a-train/buy-tickets that's the website we used - booking a ticket is like an experience from 80s. The dropdown menu only has train names... No Dome cars / No Dome cars explanations. "Aurora winter train" makes you think you see Aurora magical sky as you go... If we knew we were buying tickets to a regular old train, we'd just rent a car instead. But now we know, and our disappointment in the video was very real.

Super old train 🚂
it’s like an ancient one 😊
What No Aurora??
Nope, pure marketing 🤣 you mostly only see Aurora around Fairbanks when it’s pitch dark and clear sky
This was in the off season, the dome cars and 1st class service with fancy dining is just in the peak season.
Who knew? They don’t really market it as so…not very clear. At least we were 100% of getting the real luxury experience
@@CheckerTravel if you look at their website, you cannot book the dome cars in the winter. it is fairly clear

The ultra-dome cars do not have the ability to keep the upper level warm/heated, so they aren't used when it is below like 20* F or so.
Well he hates everything
The restaurant is horrible 😰
the food was so bad :( not recommended
Negative persons.....no aurora boreals.....???
