When this started playing at the climax of Chapter 5 I was bawling

that vocal track got me way harder. i was still crying during the climax but it isn't what started it. you can't put a vocal track in a xenoblade game and expect me not to cry. in fact, every single cutscene where a vocal track plays i have cried.

@@romacalor I'm fairly certain the ahem, accompanying cutscenes have a lot to do with it as well.
Honestly, I was too focused on the fact that they were actually going to kill her that I didn’t even realize they had put this song in the cutscene.

No media has ever made me cry yet, but for this game, I could certainly feel the tears coming at some parts. Fingers crossed it can push me over the edge

@@gunsandroses896 Not yet. I'm nearing the end of the game, so I'm not sure it will. Even if it doesn't though, I'll still give it the credit as though it did. This game really is powerful, and I don't think I need to cry to see it. In that way, the game has already moved me. Thanks for asking

Yeah, the scene where this first played (about three hours in) made me cry a bit as it sunk in that I was finally playing the sequel to two of the best games ever made, What Of It?

When they both put the flute pieces together it was magic. I still sit in wonder that this game lost best soundtrack.
I havent played this game but when the last game comes out of this series (unless this is the last game) then they should play this song. The songs name “A life sent on” would fit well with a goodbye

Coming back to this after the chapter 5 climax that absolutely BROKE me, it makes me only appreciate this masterpiece of a game

it's shinobue, it's not just any flute.
You can play it on a simple recorder flute.
I still have it after a year so now I might just seriously consider
When i first heard this on my very first blind playthrough, I cried. Chapter 5 only made it the breaking point as I broke into a sob instead of a cry. Never change, Monolithsoft. Never change.

Very early on in the game, when this is played, actually was able to make me cry. I have no idea why, it was just so moving and it was the first moment that made me realize that I was finally playing Xenoblade 3.

I love how you can hear the airiness in their sound. It kinda makes me feel like I'm in the same room as them, and in my opinion, makes this piece more beautiful❤

Xenoblade has touched my heart in many ways and actively got me through the pandemic. I love the Xeno games so much and this was a perfect way to cap of the three games

I'm barely at The City and the Monica quest had me tearing when Noah and Mio did the off seeing at the City memorial
I dunno how a bunch of NPCs almost made me tear up, but seeing them all bid farewell to the fallen made me shake with emotion. And this was before Ch5's ending too!
Looking back... is not an option.
This was also the first time the game made me cry. The stuff at the end of chapter 5 and the start of 6 would continue the waterworks.
Other than the ending of course, that’s the part that made me cry the most
That was one of the handful of scenes that got me speechless alongside a few others. I could only watch that in silence. And even to this day I still watch that in complete silence, just letting the scene itself do the talking. In fact, all scenes that made me feel something in this game, still do. And that's why I re-watch them from time-to-time.

This is something to think about. Supposedly, this game ties 1 and 2 together and "finishes" the story of all 3. Now that it's finished, what's in store for the future? A completely new adventure with no plot ties with the 3 games, or a continuation of some sorts. Food for thought.

@@christinedelire3974 ooo, what if they make it so it's just this song at the start with the usual blue sky and clouds background, but after some key part of the plot, an orchestral version comes in instead, and the sky turns to a setting sun? I'm almost 100 percent certain that won't happen but the idea that the title screen could reflect the plot up to that point makes my brain happy lol

@@mirjimcstinky8701 that's not completely impossible as they did do that in xenoblade 2. If they have chapters organised like xc2 then it's possible.

Some of you might call that cheating, but I disagree.
Thanks to 3, this trilogy shouldn't be seen as three separate games, but rather the three discs (or cartridges in this case) of a single, immense game that keeps on giving including the three side stories.
It almost feels like the breath being held for 10,000 years finally being released and a terrible cycle finally being broken. I imagine the narrative will hit similar notes.
To truly accept the beauty of all that is, you have to learn to let go.

Honestly sad that Splatoon 3 beat Xenoblade 3 in best soundtracks for the player choice awards because this is one of the beautifulest Nintendo pieces…. It makes my heart ache every time !

So, when Mío dies in chapter 5, they play a life sent on (or I think is a life sent on) but a version that is like, with a lot more instruments, someone knows how is that version called? Or if it is somewhere in a video?

Is anyone knows, what tune is Mio flute? Someone says its #8 key C, but its not, comparing to pictures of flutes devs showed, holes dont match. Or is in completely castom?
I read that the flutes are completely custom so it's probably will be a bit tricky to replicate with a standard flute.
from what i've seen online it's a japanese flute called a shinobue in a key called "8 hon choshi" for Mio and "3 hon choshi" for Noah. These numbers correspond to the distance between the holes on them (the key the flute itself is tuned to), from what i can tell they do not neatly correspond to western flute equivalents, so i don't think you can reproduce it exactly with western flutes
The melodies themselves are in G for Noah and A minor for Mio
You'd need both Shinobue's in the two keys layered together in order to produce the full melody.
The ones used in the game's recording are custom made but they're still just Shinobue's they do not have a unique sound different from other Shinobue's, the customization is just the paint and decoration made to resemble the ones in the game.

Playing the game again after knowing everything makes everything hurt a whole lot differently and slightly more.
At first, I wasn't drawn to the melody because it felt empty. It was after they became Ouroboros; Noah and Mia started playing that I instantly fell in love with the theme.
