Nice soup Ify,but pls stop putting d cover of ur pots on top of d cooker,it spoils d burner, infact it is one of major causes of spoilt burners. D steam or water from d cover pot is not good to be placed on d cooker.am talking from a personal experience. .... I hope u dnt mind my correction. I made dis soup and it was amazing. Pls share more, thanks

That’s how the creole people in Sierra Leone cook their bitter leave soup normally. The creoles in that country are originally from south western Nigeria. I’ve tried it to one of my friend in Lagos over decades. They even put egusi in it and it’s very delicious.
Sister Ify nwannem this is a "Super soup"😋 sister it's delicious👍 , it's a combintion of Edika ikong from the Akwa Ibom and Cross River Calabar and onugbu soup| bitterleaf soup from Igbo especially Anambra | Imo |Enugu |Abia make this soup for lack of bitterleaf , so I use spinach since we 've got no Waterleaf in diaspora.
Hello Ify, I've watched you for a while and I sincerely appreciate how you do cook quick ,affordable and delicious soups . You make cooking easy 😋. Keep up your good work. 👍
This soup is the bam, my hairdresser taught me how to cook it. It is her native vegetable soup, she is from Kogi state. But she does not add bitter leaves. It's highly nourishing. I eat my own with rice. Like you always say, my husband loves this soup.🥰
I know the soup. My nanny from akwa ibom introduced me to it. Thanks for the reminder. I will cook it again soon. Unfortunately, getting the ingredients where I live may not be so easy
Am making this tomorrow, but nne please my family don't eat paper so can I use like one or two fresh tomatoes instead. Thanks for this video. Also we don't get water leaf here in Uganda but I think spinach can do the magic, because I've been using it to replace water leaf or can you advice me otherwise.

Thank you ma for this recipe. Please did you use the dry long bitterleaf?
I used fresh bitterleaf. If you have the dried one, soak it for a while first before you use it.
Thank you.
I want this soup, see the snail snail 🥹
Babe, how far? Shey you are ready for that party?😉
Please how did you prepare the water leave was it boil before use?

Good dish, but don't you think that bitter leaf ought to have gone in first because bitter leaf is tougher than water leaf

Delicious meal. Ma can u use spinach to substitute the water leaf soup?here In the US is hard to find water leave.
Yes you can
@@Ifyskitchen ok but it won't taste exactly like wen is cooked with water leaf right?
White garry
Please what can we substitute water leaves with if we can't find water leaves around ?
You can try using spinach. That should work.Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment 🙏.
The bitter leave should have been in before the waterleave
